I guess it's an attraction. Looks like a big door in the wall. If you bring a sketch pad and some pencils you can probably spend 10 minutes enjoying this "view".

I would have liked it to be more clean. A little smelly,

We visited the old gate after walking from the cruise ship terminal along the waterfront (very pretty at night with all the lights). There is a huge tree just before you get to the gates which makes for a great photo.

The San Juan Gate is the only gate remaining from the Old San Juan Gate System. The city had to be walled to protect it from pirates. I consider this place interesting because it was built in the mid 1500's by hand without cranes or engineer tools and still there intact!

The views were amazing and was nice for a walk. The sunsets in that area was very romantic. There were a few streets vendors with snow cones and ice-cream. This place is located at the San Juan harbor entrance which makes it perfect for pictures!

Bring comfortable shoes and water.

The place was safe, clean and nice. A must!!!!

No charge or fees required.
No bathrooms or food were available.

Conclusion: highly recommended!

Imagine the people who walked thru this gate thru the century’s. A very relaxing location and part of the old town. A must see.
