Stayed in Old San Juan January 25th for one night! Loved it! Location location location...... Had the front room suite with balcony. Great views from room and roof top terrace. Staff was awesome. Very friendly and accommodating! Yes only stairs, no elevator. Staff will take your luggage to your room. We were on the 4th floor and was tiring to go up the stairs! Good breakfast.(20% discount if staying at the hotel) Yep would consider staying again at CasaBlanca!

we spent 3 nights there and it was really nice: the room was huge (superior suite - 2 rooms actually) with a nice balcony on the street where we spent a lot of time looking at people walking in the street while we were having a drink. Location was perfect in old San Juan, we could walk everywhere. The bathtubs on the roof could have been interesting but they where empty and so was the roof…

Briefly: A charming place to stay in Viejo San Juan that won't break the bank.

We stayed for two nights in Room 4D. The room itself isn't glamorous, but we didn't go to Puerto Rico to see a hotel room, we came to explore the island. As such, the Casablanca did its job-- we were able to come into Viejo San Juan by taxi and not worry about a rental car while we were in the city. We were able to explore the entire old part of San Juan on foot easily. The hotel is right around the corner from some of the best restaurants in OSJ (Marmalade, Toro Salao, Aquaviva) and no more than 15-ish minutes to any of the attractions around town.

My wife and I got a huge kick out of the rooftop bathtubs-- huge concrete basins that look east and south out to the water. They take a while to fill, but we just brought up a six pack of Medalla, a bag of ice, some snacks and some reading material and made a long late afternoon of soaking the aches and dust out of our tourist bodies. Very fun.

And yes, the room was a bit small. No, it was not particularly luxurious. But for the price and the location you absolutely cannot beat it. It has a charming, hip personality and everything is clean, modern and functional. If San Juan were Paris, this would be a $300 room in June.

Bottom line: Great for low maintenance travelers who like to stay in the center of the action without paying an arm and a leg.

Room Tip: 4D is an interior room. Quiet as a tomb and no light gets in. Not particularly sexy as hotel rooms g...

We stayed at Casablanca for 4 nights in a balcony room. The hotel is very well situated in the old town with many good restaurants in the same street. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although you have to expect them to be a little small due to the hotel's location in the old town. House keeping was exceptional as they seemed to come into our room and give us fresh towels whenever we went out even it was twice a day. The staff are helpful and breakfast waffles are delicious (you get a 20% discount if staying at the hotel). We found a rental car wasn't really necessary even though we had one and you will probably have to pay to park it in one of the parking lots as there isn't much street parking in the old town. The baths on the roof were an excellent touch after a day of sight seeing and they even have hot water.

Can't say enough about the CasaBlanca Hotel. Located in the "Old" San Juan district, the architecture and interior design was very cool and intriguing. This is not your "cookie-cutter" hotel, where every hallway and room looks the same, this hotel is so tastefully designed and different in every room. Our room we stayed in was 5D. The room is a small room, but that is not a bad thing. The bed was so comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean. We checked out the roof terrace on top of the hotel which showed some very cool views. The front desk staff was very helpful and recommended some places to eat. Old San Juan is a very cool place to stay, you can walk everywhere which makes it easy.

Room Tip: There is no parking provided, we had a rental car and had to find a parking garage, which was not a...

We stayed at the Casablanca for a total of 6 nights, in room 3A.

The location: right in the old town, walking distance to everything (shops, restaurants, taxis, etc), on the main street in the Old San Juan, 15/20 minutes walk to the Escambron beach.

The staff: extremely friendly and helpful. Always available to give information, recommendation, etc

The room: our room was on the 3rd floor with a shared balcony with another room, view on the Fortaleza street (great for people watching). Good space and enough storage for two. Bed super comfy. Room super clean

The bathroom: on the small side but perfectly fine, very clean. Enough towels provided

The reception/lobby/bar area: gorgeous décor (lighting, furniture, etc), really cosy, TVs with movie Casablanca playing. If you would like to watch the movie from the beginning, the staff will be more than happy to rewind, you just need to ask! We bought beers and cheesecake one night and watched the movie. A member of staff helped us move the sofas around so we could be comfortable. It was just like being at home, perfect! The hotel will be more than happy to store your luggage too.

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone to stay here.

The location is great and everyone working on the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. This hotel has a good atmosphere, I would totally stay again.

Why not full five stars then... well, our room had no window at all! I know some more expensive rooms have balconies, but every room should have even a small window. No hairdryer in the rooms. We could hear almost everything from the other rooms. I think that the rooftop could be made a wonderful place with little effort, now it's quite boring even when there are those small bathtubs. I've seen so beautiful rooftops on some small and cheap hotels, Casablanca can never compete with those.

Anway, totally recommendable hotel, good value for money and the greatest staff! Much more pros in this place than those few cons.
