Had breakfast there about 3 times , just because the convienance factor, since we stayed at El Convento. Terribly overpriced, service was great tho, then we stopped for dinner one evening and I have to say that the food was,GREAT ! Pricey, yes! But the food was very well worth it! Outstanding service throughout .

This restaurant is in the Hotel El Convento in Old San Juan. It is an elegant interior courtyard. Very good service, and the menu includes standard fare as well as Puerto Rican specialties. We enjoyed a relaxing lunch with local beer, salads, gazpacho, bruschetta and a pork and rice dish.
Well worth a visit.

Just checked into the hotel El Convento this afternoon with our group of couples (from New Mexico), and had one of the finest meals we've had in a LONG time, at the "Patio del Nispero" Restaurant on the ground floor. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to old San Juan! The food was BEYOND amazing, and the incredible attentive service of a wonderful man named Alfredo, will have us singing this restaurant's praises for years to come! By the end of the meal, it was as if he was a part of our group, kindly listening to our questions, and offering suggestions to us for our agenda tomorrow, as well as where we would be happiest dining out tomorrow evening. He was unassuming, pleasant, not pushy ..l very courteous and professional ... but wonderfully kind! The kind of man you'd love to have serve you at every restaurant!! Thank you, Alfredo!! (And the scallops were to die for ... as well as the lamb, the tuna, the plantain dish ... everything! A MUST-TRY dining experience! (I'll comment on the hotel itself later, after our visit is finished. But so far ... this is just an amazing hotel, with the kind of authentic "old-world" charm you can't get just anywhere! We are very impressed!

We had lunch here around noon on a Saturday. It’s located in the Hotel El Convento. It has outdoor seating, but each table has an umbrella to protect you from the sun.

We split an appetizer, chicken mofongo and had sangria to drink. Our server, “Chewi” was very nice. He explained in detail how each dish was prepared and also gave us the recipe for the sangria. The sangria was excellent.

This was the first time we had tried the mofongo. We were very pleased with it. Unless you are very hungry, one order of mofongo is enough for two people.

Highly recommended.
