During our visit of Puerto Rico for our 25th Anniversary, one of our friend’s mother who lives in San Juan picked us up for lunch. Let me say that this restaurant is an up scaled establishment (if only glancing at the expensive entrée list). There’s a store located inside where buyers can purchase food items including spices.

Overall, the restaurant has a nice, romantic atmosphere. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the food items. We ordered some local cuisine which included appetizers of two different prepared plantain dishes. The food was excellent. However, the service was very slow in terms of bringing our food to us. In fact, the restaurant wasn’t crowded. I highly recommend this restaurant to visitors who are looking for an upscale restaurant but have plenty of time to wait for food preparation.

We just had lunch at this place. It has a beautiful dining room.
We ordered paella. It took them over one hour to serve it. And the place was empty. This was our first visit in 10 years and just because of the slow service we won't be back in 10 more years.
Not a place to visit if you're on a hurry.

A great place with the best service we've had in a long time. The waitress was very attentive and patient. She explained evrything calmy and in detail. We started with Tostones coronados de Ceviche de mero. They were amazing! Then they served us their homemade bread with garlic butter. It was very good too. Compliments of the chef we had Caldo de mariscos which was quite tasty. For the main course we had the Paella Valenciana which is a seafood rice that included chicken. The taste was perfect and had plenty of seafood inside. The 2 of us ate from it and we still had leftovers to take home. For dessert Bocadillo de principe was so good!! It's pricey but I highly recommend the place!

I recently dined at Atlantica Viejo San Juan with a group of friends and had an amazing experience. We came without reservation so we had to wait a while, but we enjoyed a delicious sangria at the bar while we waited to be seated. Like I said is was an Experience...we were welcomed at our table with a delicious Fish Broth (compliments of the chef), such a gracious detail and a nice welcome to the customers. The homemade bread and garlic aioli were delicious also.

To begin our meal we had the seared scallops wrapped in bacon, crab stuffed turnovers and perfectly made ceviche. But the stars of the show were the perfectly cooked Lobster Thermidor, which was out of this world and the Seafood Paella which was the best I've had in a long time!! This place is top quality!!! Will definitely return soon!

The best paella I've ever eaten - the rice was cooked perfect, not lumpy or sticky or water wet inside, the lobster topper was perfect, not dry. I wanted to take an order back to Texas but I was afraid it might get spoiled in the long flight. I will be back.
