As a local we have been dining here for more than 3 decades. Simply put this is one of the top restaurants in Puerto Rico. Maximiliano (in the dining room)and Jose (in the kitchen), Rey ( not related) make a great team to deliver a great dining experience. The restaurant was closed for renovations several years ago and was changed from a formal to a more informal restaurant. Having said that the quality of the food has not changed.
The menu has a strong northern Spain influence, but it carries also an international influence and even a touch of the local food.
It's one of the restaurants were culinary institutions,as the international wine and food society, and local culinary fraternities have many of their meals. I was in a meal of the IWFS the Americas chapter were they gave them a standing ovation.
As I have said, the restaurant has a more informal menu at this moment, but if you have a special request ,call them before and they will probably go out of their way to please you.
They have a great selection of wines as since a decade ago they are importing a great selections of wines from Spain,France,USA. The selections of Pinot noir from USA are specially extraordinary and can be had some by the glass.
