“Charlies Car Rental San Juan Puerto Rico”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

we called them when we landed and about 20 mintues later a van came to pick us up. The checkout process was a bit long, but they went over the car in detail to make sure that all the bangs and dents are marked off. They have english speaking customer reps so that makes it a bit easier. We got a small Versa which was banged up and dented, but that was ok, because we had no worries about getting charge for damage to the vehicle. The car came with the toll road sticker, it cost extra, but was a good thing to have when you were on the toll roads--no need for the correct change. We had no problems with the car, it ran well and got excellent gas mileage. Checkin was efficient and fast and they got us to the airport in plenty of time. We felt we got a great deal for the amount of money w paid.

“Been there, done that....don't care to do it again”
Reviewed September 27, 2011

For months, we told people we were going to Puerto Rico. We were so excited. Luckily, we have friends there who showed us the real Puerto Rico.

We were saddened how the Puerto Rican's do not seem to take pride in thier island. From a distance, the island is beautiful. Bananas, plantains, avocados, papayas grow wild. Palm trees, coconuts. Beautiful. That is, until you look close. Trash. On the beaches, on the roads. Wild dogs, foraging for food on the sides of the road.

We traveled all over the island (courtesy of our friend the resident) but there were many places that he would not have taken us, had it been after dark, The Chinchorros were so neat! We want to make one at our house (not open to the public of course).

If you do not leave your "resort", you should be fine. but all the locals have bars on their windows. We went to a local grocery store and when we came out, someone was trying to break into our vehicle. If you want to drive in PR, be prepared. They are AGGRESSIVE drivers.

So glad that I had the opportunity to visit PR, but if our friend retire to the states next spring,(as they have planned) I have no desire or reason to return.

“My Trip to Puerto Rico”

My visit to P.R. : I had a great time at the resorts( El Conquistador and the Old San Juan Sheraton) but at the airport and car rental the customer service was terrible. They don't know what customer service is. The people are rude and lazy. The brand new car that we rented stalled out 4 times in a two hour period. We called for help and they continually put us on hold for over 30minutes. When we finally arrived at the car rental 2 hours past our schedule, they were not apologetic and took their time getting us back on the road with a new rental. At the airport the lady from jet Blue counter was rude and not helpful. It's a beautiful island ,sorry people are not nice.
