I don't want to go on about every little thing that has caused a wedding party of 45 people to complain, but essentially all of our complaints boil down to 1 thing... the attitude of over 50% of the hotel staff. I have never stayed in a hotel where you felt as though the staff were doing you a favour by being there, not that they were in paid employment in a Customer Service environment. This is such a shame as my overall impression of Jamaica is lovely, with very nice people - it is a good job that we experienced the real Jamaica to realise this.
The 4star rating is a deluded rating too. Whilst the gardens, pool area and beach are beautiful (and this is what appeals most on the photos), the hotel interior is very tired and in much need to renovation. This started slowly whilst we were there (in peak UK and US holiday season) meaning bars and pools were shut for refurbishment.
I could go on, but I hope this is enough to give people an idea of what we experienced.More
