We just got back from 10 beautiful days at Runaway Bay, Jamaica. As usual the Grand Bahia was very clean, the staff very pleasant and although the Hotel was full, due to March Break, the staff was very courteous and doing their best to make everyone welcome and happy. The beach was great and we were able to snorkel right there and enjoy all the different varieties of fish. First time the snorkelling is so great, right on site...

Nice hotel whith good food and relaxing enviroment. One negativ thing is that its not much to do out of the hotel. A possitive thing is that you got all you need at the hotell. Clean and big rooms but a lot of noice from guests coming and going outside of the room.

This was my first time to Jamaica and I was beyond thrilled with my holiday. I have been to 2 other Gran Bahia properties and this one surpassed my expectations. I usually travel alone and found the people very warm and helpful. My only complaint is having to pay upwards of $500 for the same vacation as a pair of travellers. They should consider putting aside 10 or 12 rooms specicifically for singles.
The hotel was beautiful. The service was excellent and the food choices were unbelievable. I rarely waited for a drink or had trouble finding a chair. The jerk chicken at the beach was phenomenal, although at peak times, it was hard to get a plate. I especially loved the adults only Palmrya buffet. The staff was attentive and kind. I really enjoyed the morning Mimosas!
My other issue was with the Privilege Club staff constantly trying to sell the time shares. If I was truly interested I would approach them. I didnt appreciate them trying to "con" me into going.
Overall a wonderful holiday!! Highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: I had a Royal Golden room which was facing the pool/beach and had an excellent view. They were also...

This was our second time in Jamaica, first time at the Bahian. We travelled with kids ages 6 and 10. We loved this resort! The food, the service, the amenities, the kids activities, the people etc. The pool area always had something going on, whether it was bocce or mini golf, bingo or ring toss there was never a dull moment. It was kept very clean. For those travelling without children this resort offers a lot of exclusive adult only areas and restaurants. A la carte restaurants were good but you have to make your reservations the minute you get there or you will not be able to get a reservation or a time solt that you want. We were only able to get two reservations as all others were only available after 8:30 which is too late with children. This is my one complaint, the staff didn't try to accomadate us better for the A la carte. Beach wasn't one of the nicest I've seen but still ok. Overall a great resort. Very safe and clean.

This was our 3rd stay withing the chain. Twice before in the Mayan Riviera. The was by far the best experience we have had! We traveled with a large group of 9 and everybody had a great time!

Everything positive has already been said in previous reviews, there really isn't anything else I could add to make it sound any better of a place than it already is.

A few things I learned while at the resort though are:
1. Exchange your blue towels when the towel hut opens at 8:00am. Never once went without fresh towels.
2. Reserving of beach/pool chairs is not allowed. There is a sign in the towel hut noting this. I moved towels off of previously "reserved" chairs nearly every day. Don't do without because somebody wants to sleep in until the afternoon. Sometimes the people were put off when they arrived to find their spots occupied but too bad for them. Nobody made a big deal about it.
3. The jerk chicken is at the beach side buffet on the lower level. You have to go down the stairs by the water to get the bbq. There are 3 extra sauces you can use, the red and green are hot, the darker one is spicy. There is no mild or medium, just Hellfire!
4. Don't forget to ask for jerk pork at the bbq, they have it but they don't also advertise it.
5. The burger place is in the southwest corner of the entertainment square. It opens at 11:00pm. Not sure when it closes but I was there more than once until 3:00am.
6. It seemed that Thursday night is typically Lobster night at the main buffet.

Enjoy your stay, you really can't go wrong with this resort!

Room Tip: Main floor rooms overlooking the pool are fantastic. Easy access to all amenities with fewest stair...

Everything was great except for THE CLUB people trying to sell time shares. We went on two tours and had Claudene for both. She was exceptional. I forgot some purchases on the bus and they were returned to the hotel.

Overall the property was beautiful. About an hour and a bit from the airport. The check in went smoothly. Once we arrived in our room, we checked out the view, which was a brick wall about 6 feet high.. They compensated by putting a jacuzzi out on the terrace, however it was very old and dirty. This room was in block 23 which is the furthest building on the property to everything and a very quiet area.

My biggest complaint would be the amount of bed bug bites I came home with. They didn't start appearing until the 3rd day of my trip, however we were unable to switch rooms as it was march break and they were fully booked. I have at least 60 bites on each leg!

The food was amazing! The buffet had a different theme every night and there was always plenty to find! The beach buffet at lunch Time was great especially if you like jerk chicken, just be careful with the jerk sauce! It is very spicy! Spanish, Japanese and the grill a la cartes were all great! Japanese was our favorite!

The pool was huge and great to hang out by as they have entertainment throughout most of the day.. The beach is to the left of the resort however you have to walk passed the beach buffet to find a good spot. We spent most time by the pool as it was quite a hike from our room to the beach.

The drinks were ok. However if you wanted a better quality alcoholic drink, you had to pay for them!! They gave you the cheapest alcohols. Other five stars in Jamaica served better alcohol for free, then the ones you had to pay for at this resort!

The property is beautiful! A little tlc needed in a lot of areas but overall beautiful!

Would I stay here again? No there are other five star properties in Jamaica that are more worth it!
