“This place needs to be visited....”

This place is wonderful.. Just of the main coast road about 10 minutes walk from the RDCC you will come to fishermans beach and sharkies restaurant. Noella and her team are lovely. The food especially the fish could not be any fresher, the chef will ask you how you want it etc and it is priced by weight.

The food is served as though you could imagine yourself having a la carte, beautifully presented with the best view ever, the cold red stripe is a treat too..... speak to the local fishermen they are a real friendly bunch of guys

“Relaxing natural atmosphere, great food”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

While at the Jewel last week, I visited Sharkies. Lovely, lovely afternoon experience. We were greeted in a most gracious way by the owners, Rick and his wife, and enjoyed the lobster, fish and fish tea that my friends and I ordered. The outdoor seating, music, and atmosphere were combined in a most perfect balance. I will visit anytime while in Runaway Bay!

“Usain Bolt, Red Stripe, the beach, the Bar and great hospitality”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

We (2 adults with 16 yr old son and friend) went to Sharkie's as soon as we arrived and before settling into our villa. We had surprise fish soup (nothing like it elsewhere - brilliant), festival and fresh fish. Oh yes, and coconut juice and red stripe. All consumed in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The high points (yes, we've been back and will go again) was watching the 100m Olympic finals, women's and men's (including Usain Bolt of course) with the local crew -a very special, excited, proud, passionate and exuberant atmosphere.

Sharkie's is a beach bar and restaurant so is not huge and the air conditioning is provided by mother nature, as is the view.

Sharkie's is the best of things Jamaican.

“BLOODY BRILLIANT”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Sharkies was recommended to us by a real jamaican. A group of us went down there one evening for a drink and were completely overwhelmed by the welcome we received from Rick (the owner) and all the staff and locals who drank there. We returned there a couple of days later and did para sailing and consumed some lovely food and alcohol :) The seafood was out of this world as was the jerk chicken which they got for us as the girls didnt eat seafood. Once again the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing and the local policeman Mr Rose bought us a drink. Rick is really passionate about tourists seeing the real jamaica not just the tourist places that all the hotels only want you to see and will chat for ages and help you find the hidden spots to see. Just wish we had found Sharkies earlier in our holiday.

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

Sharkies is an awesome hidden gem. The lobster is great, plentiful and cheap (under $20usd) The owner is an awesome guy, so is his wife. The food is great and they whipped a nice plate of veggies for my vegetarian fiance. My fiance and I went diving with Sharkie's crew in the morning and they served us blue mountain coffee free of charge. Wonderful place!
