“Great place to visit while in Jamaica”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We stopped here as part of our cruise ship excursion and really enjoyed it. Dwayne was our tour guide and he really made the tour special. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the caves and involved the children into the tour. You definitely need to be able to bend as some of the areas are small and one area we had to crawl through.

“Great tour guides!”

We stopped here on our way to Dunn's River Falls. The caves were interesting, and the tour guide was outstanding. He really got the kids engaged, was funny and very knowledgeable. We got some great pictures.

“Intrigue, history and a fun way to escape the heat.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

The limestone caves are a network of chambers and passageways , stalactites and stalagmites and small underground lakes. It was said to be a haven for pirates, runaway slaves, storage areas for a world war and a underground nightclub. Now a treasure trove of history and home to several different kinds of bats.Don't worry as they didn't bother us. We had an amazing guide in Chedd Brown, who presented the history in a way that gave us all a chuckle and no one was bored. Part history teacher, a lot of actor and a lot of energy that is contagious. A great way to escape the heat of the day.

“Green Grotto Caves - aka Runaway Caves very interesting!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We hired Wentworth Pearson, of Pearson Tours, to take us for the afternoon and traveled from Ocho Rios to the Green Grotto Caves. It is an incredible system of about 20 miles worth of limestone caves. We had done cavern diving in Cozumel and really wanted to see this, so we all enjoyed it very much. My husband and I, and our daughter and her husband (mid 20s) all thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I recommend using a private taxi or tour because we were the only ones there and did not have to wait for other people. We had the tour guide to ourselves and that made it more fun than being part of a huge group. These caves were used by smugglers in the 1800s and, at one time, were actually a nightclub. You can see where the stage area was and limestone seating. The caves seem to go on and on.
