We spent the day here yesterday and it was like a little piece of paradise on earth. The water was calm, the beach itself was beautiful. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch of fresh fish caught that morning. We went to the first restaurant on the left as you come to the beach. The owners, Payntor and Cynthia, took excellent care of us!

We liked this attractive little beach a lot. The food from Painter & Cynthia's restaurant was phenomenal - the lobster is highly recommended! The beach vendors were very low-key and easy to deal with, and actually make their own items. We special ordered some items, and came back two days later to pick up and pay! Be sure to get the carved bamboo cups, which we special ordered as a large beer mug and some tea light holders, and the intricately formed bracelets out of some kind of branch. The giant rope looked like it would be fun for kids to climb on and the boat ruins good for imaginative play. We rented beach chairs, which made our day at the beach more comfortable. We also donated to the beach clean up crew who do a fantastic job on removing all the washed up trash. One guy cleared the section in front of us and removed two cans of trash! We enjoyed the snorkelling on the reef just offshore. Be sure to enter the water where you can see clear sand to avoid stepping on sea urchins.

A lovely white sand beach with no sign of corporate tourism. It is slightly off the beaten track but is the main beach for locals in the area. It is kept clean by local Rastas who expect a small donation (5USD) that they say is used to clean the beach and keep it from developers.
The beach is about half a mile and the water is crystal clear.
The small shacks provide cover and a small choice of local art and food.
Definitely a beach to go to find the real Jamaica, but don't expect sun loungers, cocktails or designer sops!

Beautiful laid back setting, preferred by the locals. You can get a lunch, alcoholic beverages and even a fresh coconut to sip on while enjoying the gentle surf. No charge.
