Description: This lady is an institution. She has a barbecue on the bank of the Rio Grande river at Port Antonio. You can only reach it by bamboo raft! I'm serious. You can google Belinda's Rio Grande Port Antonio and it will come up. This lady cooks the greatest spicy crayfish and fried chicken ever. Look at my profile- I've eaten all around the world, I'm not joking. I ate their today and it broke my heart to see other tourists rafting by and not taking their lunch there because they didn't know about it. This lady needs a break and Tripadvisor can help. Not out of sympathy, but just great food

“Belinda is not to be missed.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2011

My husband and i still talk about the meal Belinda prepared for us while we floated the Rio Grande. She should be the chef at every hotel and restaurant in Port Antonio- or she should just move here to New York! It is a once in a lifetime experience to walk up to her riverside hut and see all the amazing food she has cooking. You will never forget it!

“Best Spicy Fresh Crayfish in the Carribean?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2011

If you visit the Port Antonio region you will be recommended to take a rafting trip along the Rio Grande, and very pleasant it is too. What is not always recommended is that you should pull up ashore and visit Belinda's. She cooks on a simple wood fired barbecue but produces the best ever spicy fresh crayfish and jamaican fried chicken. Along with 'rice & peas', dumplings, and vegetables this is the greatest food ever. However you cannot just turn up because she may simply run out of supplies. So at least tell your rafting "Captain" before you start your trip and he will use his cellphone to check with her, but best of all tell your hotel or tour operator the day before, insist you wish to eat her food, and they will fix it up for you. Everybody locally knows about her and will know about her cooking. We took a cold box full of beer onto the raft and continued to drink this with our meal on a BYO basis and no complaints. This is food too good to miss..
