the people were friendly, the trip to Monkey Island and the experience there was magical, and the swimming into fresh water from sea water was exhilarating

“Wonderful swimming experience..Careful of aggressive sales pitch.”

Beautiful blue waters of the Blue Lagoon can be enjoyed without paying a dime. Just ignore the people who approach you as you drive/walk down the sloping path from the highway to the parking area. You will come to a wooden dock - just jump off and swim in the blue water. We were offered a boat ride in the blue lagoon and to Monkey island for $45 for two of us..we settled down for $30 eventually and another $10 tip to our boat guide - Benton who was very nice. He took us to the Monkey island where we swam and got some great pictures. Having said that, boat ride is not really necessary to enjoy either Monkey island or blue lagoon. The deepest water in blue lagoon is about 80 feet with conical shape and streams from under water come mix with ocean water. So, it is normal to experience changing water temperature as you swim. Right across from the wooden dock is a little beach. If you swim a 100 feet across the lagoon you can get there and take pictures with blue lagoon as your background. Some nice shots with the trees and blue lagoon in the background.

“Natural Beauty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2013 via mobile

Just looking @ the beauty of the Lagoon is enough but we got a raft over to Monkey Island and decided to sunbathe all day then over to the other side where the spring is for more adventure. Our dread tour was very informative also.
