My husband and I just got back from the most wonderful week in paradise, provided by the staff and location of the Westender Inn. Yes, it is off the beaten path, away from the crowds at the resorts. It is located on the west end of Negril (past the lighthouse) where the sunsets could not have been more perfect or more private. Right on the reef, we snorkeled steps from our room, where we were lulled to sleep each night by the surf. The grounds are just beautiful, with tropical flowers and shady sea grapes, almond trees, and palms. But it is the staff that made the trip. The service is impeccable, and the hospitality warm. We took our meals on the patio between the pool and the bar/restaurant, but the staff are happy to serve you anywhere on the grounds. The menu offers a variety that Raze will prepare specially for you. We recommend the traditional Jamaican fare whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. (Raze, the calaloo and saltfish was great.) The staff will also arrange transportation and outings for whatever you might want to do. We spent a day deep sea fishing, a day on seven mile beach, and took a river tubing adventure on this trip. You just can't go wrong with these accomodations and with the accomodating staff. Thanks for a great time!!

My wife and I went to the Westender for our Honeymoon. It was a fantastic and incredibly relaxing experience. The hotel is located out of town so you don't have to contend with the party atmosphere. We were there right around Spring Break time but it was nice, quiet, and private. But if you do want to go into town you aren't that far at all.

The food especially was great. It's a small menu, but as is so often the case, a small menu means everything on it is well done. There is no "filler" item that was put there just to take up space.

The management and staff of the Westender Inn would like to thank you and all our past guests for sharing so many very positive comments about the hotel and staff. We will continue to enhance, improve and do whatever it takes to make the Westender Inn the best boutique hotel in the Caribbean.

This is a great place to stay. The grounds are perfectly manicured, the standard rooms are nice and have all the amenities you would expect. They have flat screened T.V's, secure in-room digital safes, beautiful pool, amazing sea views a on-site restaurant with delicious well prepared food at a reasonable price. The staff there was fantastic, they made me feel welcome and accommodated every request with a smile. This place is truly a lovely property,it;s secure, beautiful, a little off the main track but it will not disappoint you. I guarantee you will return over and over. Can't say enough about this hidden treasure. Definitely has a laid back vibe. Also is right next door to a spa.

The Westender is a beautiful place to stay and really relax.
We wanted a place not associated with the large chain hotels.
We wanted a more intimate setting with great accomodations
and fantastic service. This is the place. It is one of the only
hotels where you have a small beach and can walk out
into the water, on a calm day. We've been back three times
and would love to go this year, 2009, as well. I will say, when
I do go back to Jamaica I will most definitely stay at the Westender!

We didn't have a lot of money to spend for our honeymoon, so we didn't want to go to the pricey all-inclusives. We heard about the Westender from a friend and we are so glad we went! It was affordable, but we had the accommodations and service of a 4-star hotel!

We were at first wary of not being in downtown Negril, but it was such a great thing! We were able to have a private and quiet vacation, but go into town (just 2 miles away) every night! The hotel had a car and driver that offered to take us into town each night (and sometimes pick us up too if we told them when we wanted to go home in advance). It was the best of both worlds!

This was such a beautiful place to have a honeymoon or romantic getaway. It is so quiet and private! We told the staff that it was on honeymooon when we booked and we found complimentary chilled champagne and fresh fruit in our room waiting for us! The staff went out of their way to make sure our honeymoon was special. We got room service almost every night and we even arranged for one dinner to be by the ocean and in candlelight. We were so happy with how we were treated!

The food was excellent! The best we had in Negril by far. The fish and meat are all fresh and the variety of food is fabulous. My husband was so happy he could have lobster almost every night at a reasonable price! We also liked that the restaurant had both indoor and outside seating. The hotel was booked when we went but we always had a private space to eat if we wanted it. We even arranged with the cook to pack us lunches sometimes when we went into town. And they were willing to serve us coffee and breakfast at the pool! The flexibility of the staff was amazing- they were always willing to accommodate our every wish!

The ocean front property was so beautiful! It was fabulous snorkeling!

The only thing I didn't like about the place was the manager- Collin. He was a little aloof and impersonal. But I heard from my friend that a new manager is at the hotel and he is great!

We stayed at Westender Inn 2/14/09 to 2/28/09. What a place! The ocean steps feom our room, beautiful & original design for the pool, friendly & very helpful staff, free use of computer, & a pretty decent library of books to choose from in thre office. Oh & the beds are some of the most comfortable we have had in all of our 16+ tripsto Jamaica! Also - the shower had good water pressure!
