Hard to put into words a place that we love so much that we would forego Christmas with family to be here. This was our 6th trip to Jamaica and 5th to Catcha.

Catcha is a place that you have to experience to truly "get". As you've read before, the staff is the best around. They are like an extended family to us. The grounds are beautiful and always being improved (which never seems possible but yet with each new trip we are surprised). The rooms are rustic and fabulous. This isn't the Ritz. Its got charm galore, however which you won't find at Ritz. The food and drinks are the best around although we venture out to many local restaurants for variety.

Rooms we've stayed in:
Sun & Aries - in 6 suite building. Very nice and modern. Both have incredible views.
Sagittarius - on the cliffs. Privacy galore. Must experience this room at least once.
Pisces - this was the only room we have ever asked to be moved from and thankfully we were easily accommodated. This room is cute and cozy but if you are sensitive to road noise you will want to pack ear plugs or avoid this room.
Little Capricorn - small, cheap but with cold AC, awesome water pressure and a large refrigerator (which you can easily stock up at market). Small, modern and awesome. We love this hidden gem!

We love Catcha and have our next trip booked. This is our go-to place for complete privacy, and a REAL relaxing vacation. Watching the sea, the dolphins play and the incredible sunsets never gets old.

Room Tip: The newer rooms and suites are less rustic, more modern and have better sound proofing. The older r...

From the property, to the room, and of course Ivan's we could not have had a better 7 days. The super friendly staff greeted us daily. We ate so many fine meals that they are too many to describe, but the Ackee and saltfish with callaloo was my favorite (4 times). The ownership is constantly making upgrades to the property making it a top stay in Negril. Don't hesitate to stay at Catcha, the reviews are accurate.

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the "Gatehouse", but the upgrade to Sky was fantastic.

We found Catcha on the web and booked the last room available over Christmas week: Gate House. We had not been to Negril in 20 years and wanted a couple getaway. Well this was so much better than expected. Susan, an expat from England, who is the manager/co-owner, has brought the best of her leadership skills to finding and training the most loving and caring staff who never failed to over-deliver with great food, great service and that very special Jamaican I and I love. Susan and her co-owner, Harry, used the tragedy of Hurricane Ivan as a blank canvas to build with nature (not on) a most blessed beautiful setting: An Eden in Paradise. You have a gorgeous ocean front, stunning West End (da best end, mon) cliff site where they have blended in the Ivan Restaurant with every seat having a view of the multicolored sunset sky and Caribean ocean where you vies dolphins, flying fish and bird life. After one trip to town that has gotten too big for our taste, we stayed in the warm loving embrace of Catcha and visited the surrounding restaurants and Jamaican cafes which are also great. I peacefully worked on a book while Jane swam in the fresh water pools and tropical fish filled ocean. No lounge chair competition, no disruptive sales people, no hassle. No problem mon. It's bad (meaning good in Jamaican patrois). Party sell off (so good), off da hook.
So you know where to come in Negril and be blessed by Susan, Mauvette, Dandy, Carol, Jockie Boy and everyone else and remember what Marley say, "Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality . Wake Up and Live!"

Room Tip: The "fitness center" for us was the ample room for yoga, martial arts and swimming.

We stayed at Catcha Falling Star Nov.16-18th and we were very impressed. We have spent the last 11 Thanksgiving trips in Negril and we love it but these people bring a smile to your face from the time you check in until your check out time and actually we were smiling even days later when we thought back about the fun we had.Great food, good drinks(not that we indulge, well maybe a little),really had fun here and we will be back for a longer stay next year!!!We stayed in Geminii2,a small cozy room that was all we neeeded, went across the street and got some basic supplies for the room and also walked the cliffs and had beers in a couple other places.Very safe place with awesome people, stop in and see them when you are in Negril, you will go back again!!

So much has changed since first discovering Catcha in the late 80's. Long gone are the days of spotty electricty and water! It has truly become a special place on earth. Each November we are welcomed with open arms by the entire staff and Ben, who we have known since he was a puppy. We were devasted the year that Hurricane Ivan kept us our cliffside home, forcing us to stay at the beach. But from the devasation came Ivan's Bar & Restaurant where you'll enjoy fabulous food and and specialty drinks (Kevin, we're missing your Dirty Pina Coladas!). We look forward to watching the beautiful sunsets each and every night, followed by a wonderful dinner at Catcha or elsewhere on the cliffs. The vibe is always friendly and relaxing, and even though there are many more rooms since we first started going, it never seems to feel "crowded". They've done a good job of setting up separate areas on the cliffs to enjoy a day of watching for dolphins to pass by. The beautiful pool has also been a wonderful addition to the property, especially on days when the water is rough. Catcha has all the elements of the perfect vacation spot. Many thanks to (and i'm sure i'm forgetting someone!) Andrea, Mauvette, Susan, Jane, Kevin, Ty (Congratulations on your wedding!), Barbara, Carol, Keneisha, Nicolette, Asanetta, Donna, Miss Nan (where were you!?), Jackie, Jason, the Security and Kitchen staff and of course Ben for another wonderful vacation at our home away from home! Ordia, we missed you!

I love this place.... From the amazing staff, to the fabulous food, to the rustic but extremely clean rooms, I am officially hooked. Once you go you know. Now if you are looking for Ritz Carlton, please do not go. This place is laid back, chill, fun and everything I could ever want in a botique property. Big ups to Kevin, Ty , Keneisha, Mauvette, Andrea, Susan, Jackie, Sanjay, Garfield and the entire kitchen, Barbara, Tanisha, Vivi, and everyone else there who works hard to make certain that you have nothing but a great vacation.

Catcha continues to improve. Even with the drought this year the foilage was abundant after the devastation wreaked by Ivan. And the views from the many private areas in the cliff side are just awesome. The accomodations all seem to have a personal touch that make them feel like home. The restaurant and bar have good prices and nice portions of great food. The jerk chicken penne pasta is still my favorite for supper but I think my new favorite for breakfast is the stuffed potatoe... And the staff - all of them are great and very personable, almost like family. We'll be going back!
