An excellent first stay for my immediate family (reunion) party and those of my brother's (who live in Jamaica). It was a wonderful place both for adults and children - my brother's daughter had just turned one year of age during our stay and "learned to swim" in Travellers Beach's excellent, and ornate, swimming pool - which is only "two steps" from the Caribbean Sea to which she later graduated!

My family and I stayed at Travellers Beach Resort for one week in February 2010 - just before the arrival of the Spring Breakers from the States (which the Resort is also famous for welcoming and hosting annually). We had THE BEST TIME - AND WANT MORE OF THE SAME ON, AT LEAST, AN ANNUAL BASIS!

Above all, the local family hands-on, and involved, management really makes you feel that they have their guests' interests fully at heart. The head of the family, Mr Winston Wellington (whom I call "Sir Winston" for the respect that he commands from guests and staff alike) takes his breakfast every day in the Resort's Caribbean-side restaurant and, so, personally checks on the quality of the food, and the service, on a very regular basis. His sons (and lieutenants), Wellington and Winthrop, are also always around to ensure untroubled wi-fi Internet connections, arrange "gala dinners", airport transfers and the like - WITH A SMILE AND THE UTMOST FRIENDLINESS, which sunny attitude is adopt by all their staff, generally.

I stayed at Travellers for 7 days in April after only having planned to stay for 3. The secure, calm atmosphere and the friendly staff is what made me decide that there was no point in moving on, as this hotel had everything that I was looking for. For starters, the hotel is locally owned by a family that invests time and money into the community through charitable work. The rooms and grounds were well kept and the ocean side bar served great drinks. My room had AC and a private balcony for some nice quiet reading time. The hotel was like a home away from home in the way that you could safely leave your belongings behind and not worry about anything. It had that small hotel feel with some of the touches that you usually only get at bigger places. It is also located within a 10 min walk from the town which proved to be very convenient for things like a grocery store, ATM, etc.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Travellers to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Negril at a reasonable price. I definitely look forward to staying there again upon my next visit to Jamaica.

This was my first trip to Jamaica and after reading the reviews I wanted to stay somewhere to see the real Jamaica. The check in was fast and I liked being able to give them my credit card number so I could just add on to my add every time we got a beverage or dinner from the restaurant. The food was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The security was very good. I had nothing stolen but I did keep my suitcase locked whenever i was not in the room and they did have a safe at the front desk. For the price I felt it was a great place. The water was never hot in the shower, but the temperature was so hot that I never minded. We had to ask for towels once after they cleaned our room, but it only took 15 mins to get some. I will definitely be going back. We went during spring break so the music is loud and there were a lot of drunk people yelling late at night, but that can happen anywhere. They also had computers available at a very reasonable price ($3 American dollars for 30 minutes). I did use it once and it worked just fine.

I,ve been visiting Travellers Beach Resort ,for 15yrs now and everytime i return its just as fabulous as the last time as i left it ,if not better with age , the staff and management are so friendly , it really is home from home ,and the resort is also frequented with like minded people from all over the world, down to earth ,and friendly holiday makers ,
The food is served overlooking the fab beach which is a spectacular view, and the walk down the beach is amazing , dropping in on other bars ,and sampling the true jamaican experience,
You can tour around jamaica with the TBR tour driver at excellent rates, The centre of negril is in walking distance with supermarkets gift shops and banks , not forgetting Time Square the amazing duty free shop just down from TBR,
The nightlife is superb,on the beach and along the cliff area ,and also the entertainment and the roof top nightclub at TBR
No amount of All Inclusives would draw me away from this resort ,after all a holiday is all about people and the memories you take home with you
until next time TBR .....ONE LOVE XXX

Thats what I really think about the Travellers. It feels like a cozy home with a natural Jamacian flair. I have stayed at this hotel many times since 2004 but my most recent trip was awesome. The property looks great and the grounds keepers work so hard to keep it nice, neat and pretty. Front desk staff are fast and friendly, an important entrance to your check in and first impression when your weary from a long trip.

The wait staff and bartenders both new and long timers are nothing short of rockin, not to mention a hoot of fun. The drinks superior and the food, the best ever. Fast, hot and very good eats! Housekeeping ladies remain the same as they have for many years, superior service and smiles. I love those ladies! Both entrance and beach side security has never been better. They were friendly, funny, helpful and firm when they needed to be.

The music was great and lots of variety. There is always something going on to entertain you and you just never know who will show up. One day Shaggy showed up to buy a brink and donate to a great cause. if you go- make sure you check it out and paint your name. There is a great gym there now for those who like to work out.

It was clearly apparent that all of the staff at the hotel really seem to be happy and enjoying their jobs and the guests. Big ups to the management staff, it's very easy to see all the efforts in running this well oiled ship and your staff to keep the guests coming back.

For anyone looking for a smaller hotel with a real natural Jamacian vibe and close family tradition make Travellers your next home away from home.

Although the property is very nice, including a great pool, the loudness and types of music they played made this the worst Jamaican vacation I have ever had. Some nights, they brought in a dj who brought huge speakers and then assaulted the guests with the loudest and worst hip hop and rap sounds I have ever heard (I say sounds because this was not music by any stretch of the imagination). There were a number of guests who checked out early, including myself. Also, the food is of a very low quality and expensive, however the bar served good drinks at a reasonable price. The staff was very pleasant and seemed sorry about the loud music, but no one did anything about it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone over 21.

Just after booking Travellers for Spring Break, we saw a few pretty bad reviews on TripAdvisor. We considered booking a different hotel but didn't care to go through the hassle - and I'm so glad we didn't!! We had such a great time staying at Travellers. The staff knew us all by name and they did everything to accommodate us. One of our rooms was even upgraded from superior to standard, just because!

Some of the nicest and friendliest people I've ever met work at Travellers. The ladies at reception were especially sweet, every time we entered and left the lobby they always said, "hello (or goodbye) my dears!" Winston, the owner, ran into us when we first arrived and he introduced us to all the staff that walked by and informed us of all the events going on throughout the 8 days we stayed there. There was karaoke and movies almost every night. There is also a dance club on-site.

I was especially impressed by the owner's community efforts and his dedication to philanthropy. He is working on building libraries across Jamaica and you may donate money to this charity by purchasing a brick that will be used to build the library.

Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable, adequate and welcoming place to stay. They definitely made us feel at home!
