“Grand Reopening at Seastar with Luciano”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2011

We had a wonderful week at Seastar. We arrived on Friday night and everyone and I mean everyone was busy getting the final touches done to get ready for the big show and grand new opening on Saturday night. Even Barbara and Clarol had their face masks on and brooms in their hands to assist Chris and the crew in any way they could. The bar was being sanded and getting ready for the shelacking. All hands on deck and they worked most of the night and into the next day.
By the time 4:00 pm rolled around final touches were going on with plants being arranged and the charis for the tables were to be delivered shortly. By 7:00 pm it was time to open the gates and bring on the buffet and the entertainment.
It was an amazing feat to get this amount of work done in 6 weeks.
Luciano up close and personal was a special treat.
The staff are happy to be back on their regular routines and they are looking forward to seeing all those that are on their way down, right behind us.
Little touches were going on through-out the week.
We got back last night and we are already looking forward to our return in 2 months with the kids and their significant others.
A Couple of photos of the updates at Seastar.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was truely a relaxing break during our hectic holiday visitiny the USA to be able to just switch off & not think about anything. The rooms are good & very large, we had room 10 upstairs 2 bedrooms with patio. Aircon works a treat. You can eat at Seastar or walk to several restaurants or cafes nearby. But at the upmarket places nearby you wont find the staff as friendly & attentive as those at Seastar. They do their job with ease, Chris, the owner has a fantastic crew working with him. I see there are renos soon, only hope that Seastar remains unaffected & doesn't go the way of the highbrow neighbours. Food & drink are extremely reasonably priced, & the cocktails sooo cheap. Just loved it all.

The SeaStar Inn provides you with a real taste of Jamaica with their Reggae Concerts scheduled every Saturday night. This music was really what we were missing on our trip until we arrived there. There is a buffet dinner with the concert and local people come from miles around. The staff is friendly and the rooms are very nice. Ask to stay in the older portion for the least expensive price. The ceilings are beautiful in this section as well. Chris is a great host! It's not on the water but it's within walking distance.

Based on the reviews on Trip Advisor we booked 23 Days at the Seastar at the beginning of the year (we also convinced 8 other people to join us for part of our vacation), and I must say it did not disappoint. The staff were all amazing, Chris and Francine (the owners) go out of their way to make you feel special. Samantha and Rochelle at the front desk ensure everything runs smoothly. They have in incredible band every Saturday night, we were lucky enough to catch 3 shows! The cliffs are a short walk and all the hotels on the water will allow you to use their facilities, if you purchase a beverage or some food. The beach is a short drive away and if you miss the shuttle, you can jump in a route taxi and it is only $2.00 U.S. per person. We ate most meals at the Seastar, and they were all delicious. Our group couldn't get enough of the Coconut Shrimp-so much so that we took a few orders to go, on our way to the airport for our trip home.
The hotel is very small, with many, many returning guests who all seem to know each other are quick welcome you into their 'family'', and eager share their vast knowledge of Negril with you. :) This was our 5th trip to Jamaica and this is our favourite place thus far (we have stayed at Sandals 3 times and prefer The Seastar) It is a very special atmosphere and I look forward to returning December. I've been to Negril many times, and I never enjoyed myself more than my nine-day stay at Seastar Inn, a hidden gem on a little road just off the Cliffs.

If you're a foodie like me, you'll love this place -- entrees cooked with love, and the food is among the tastiest (and most affordable) in all of Negril. The rooms are nice, too, comfortable bed, great AC, lush surroundings and all with a high-quality hammock and great extras like a fridge and kitchenette (with pots and pans and utensils).

Also, great security and only 14 rooms, so you don't even have to lock your doors (though they do provide an in-room safe, of course).

Nice pool, swim-up bar, free internet IN ALL ROOMS. Every extra amenity you could want -- all at a great price (my room was $36 with free breakfast, and all-inclusive was an extra $70) -- and best of all, service with a smile. The maids are great, the bartenders are great, and then there are the on-site owners, Chris and Francine, both of whom are warm and engaging and willing to go the extra mile for you 24 hours a day.

It's the best deal in Negril, especially if you're like me and like to rent a scooter and go go go because the only thing Seastar Inn does not have is a view of the ocean because it's down a little street about a quarter-mile east of Catcha Fallen Star (where they honor exchange privilages!).

I've never met or heard from anyone who regretted staying at Seastar Inn. It's heaven. Ya mon.

Room Tip: You can request upstairs rooms or downstairs, depending on your preference ....

The service here rivals any place I've stayed at in the United States and Europe. The staff is warm and friendly, without being overbearing. The food is surprisingly well prepared (loved the pork chop suey and the jerk chicken) for how affordible it is. Chris, the owner, is a stand up guy. He helped me organize a surprise birthday cake for my girlfriend and he obviously knew the best baker in town to get it. We were lucky enough to be there for two Saturday Reggae parties, really good band, drummers, and dancers. Overall, the place felt more like a exclusive local hangout than a boring all inclusive.

Every single thing about Seastar Inn is great.
We stayed here with my parents for a week and absolutely loved it. The staff go out of their way to remember your name, they will even save you some of the delicious homemade muffins because they remember you come down late for breakfast.
We had the 2 bedroom unit with kitchen, which we didn't use very much as the food was great.
We ate our lunch daily by the pool at the bar- the jerk chicken is great, the hamburger is home-made and very nice. Our recommendation is the soup of the day- either beef, chicken or fish, all very nice. There is also a list of about 40 cocktails for very reasonable prices, we did our best to try every one!
If you want to go into town or to the beach, they are very accommodating, and will give you a cell phone to call them to come and pick you up.
Saturday night they have a buffet, reggae band and the most incredible dancers and drummers (which they podcast).
If you want to stay at a place with the nicest staff, and have an experience that you will remember and that will differ from other beach holidays, definitely stay here. Chris and Francine are great, their friends come and it's great to chat with them. And if you like spicy things you MUST try Francine's sauces- pepper and jerk. And you can buy some to take home.
