We were scheduled to travel to Beaches Negril on Nov 6th, 2004 but because of a change in travel requirements we were not allowed to board our flight. We arranged our trip directly through Beaches including the air travel. Upon our arrival to Boston's Logan airport at 5am the morning of travel, we were told that our travle documents (very official looking hospital issued birth certificates that we had used the last time we traveled to Jamaica in 2001) were no longer accepted and we were denied boarding. We were denied a refund and charged an extra $1750 to "reissue" our tickets and the currnet price of our trip to Negril. We spoke to everyone at Beaches to no avail. They could have cared less about our plight and made money off our disaster. We will never travel again with Beaches. It is our feeling that we should have been told of this change in requirements as they book thousands of thes trips a year and we will be lucky to book a few in a lifetime. We had friends go to Jamaica in April, six months prior to our scheduled departure on hospital issued birth certificates without incident. (The airlines, Air Jamaica, now requires "State Issued" birth certificates). Please post this so that it will save other people the trouble and expense that we have gone through.
