This was our third Sandal's vacation and one of the smaller Sandal's properties but the staff and amenities were incredible. We stayed from 1/26 - 2/2 and had a marvelous time and didn't want to leave. The property inside and out is immaculate...people were constantly sweeping and cleaning and our room was spotless and always stocked thanks to our housekeeper Shelly Anne. We felt this property had the most professional, friendly, and efficient staff and went a step further by trying to remember your name and make you feel as though you were home away from home. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful couples message upon arrival which made us feel connected and rejuvenated. We enjoyed snorkeling each day with Devon and Greg who brought us to some fabulous reefs which were very close by. We saw some beautiful fish, a morea eel, and a stingray in addition to a cannon and anchor from an old shipwreck rivaling some of the best snorkeling we've experienced on other trips. We also took advantage of the kayaks, Hobie Cats, paddle boards, and tubing...and even waterskiiing and wake boarding is included! My husband and I felt like teenagers again! We were invited to a welcome back Sandals cocktail hour and dinner which was elegant and we were pampered beyond imagination. The restaurants, nightly entertainment, and piano bar completed the perfect day. We also liked to relax by the many fire pits which were available with lovely comfortable cushioned seats right by water's edge. They are definitely doing something right at this resort and could be a role model for customer service at other hotels. We also took advantage of a parasail ride right from the resort property and also ventured over to Rick's Cafe (a world renowned bar with breathtaking views) for some afternoon cliff diving! It took me a while to get up the nerve but had 3 jumps which I will never forget! We want to thank Andre Dhanpaul the property manager for overseeing a wonderful vacation experience. We were sad when we had to leave and we couldn't say enough to everyone that would listen about our week at Sandal's Negril. You couldn't get a better experience or value for the money!

Room Tip: We had a very nice room on the 3rd floor. I understand that they will be renovating again shortly.

ANOTHER GREAT TRIP
Return stay at Sandals Negril Jamaica- October 2013 in one of the Million Suites, they gave us the same room as we had in Sept. 2011 and we requested the same butlers Sean and Denato....and they did provide them for us. Great Butler Team......they were both AWESOME again!!!!!!!
Sean took us straight to our suite and had champagne chilled, a plate of cheese & crackers, and some fruit awaiting us. Sean got us checked in in...just signed a piece of paper....then he left us so we could get settled in.
Every day Sean or Denato made sure our cooler was packed with all kinds of drinks and had our lounge chairs reserved for us at the beach. They did stop to check on us while we were at the beach, to bring us more drinks, asked what we wanted to do for dinner so they could make our reservation, and anything else we needed!
Almost everyday when we came back to the room and they had the whirlpool filled with bubbles and essential oils.
Our private pool and our room was cleaned everyday the staff did a great job, our bar was stocked everyday and they would ask us if we need anything else for it; they just kept it filled up (beer – red stripe (regular & lite), white/red wine, champagne, wata, pops, juices, & very very spicy bloody mary mix w/fresh limes, they checked the dry bar, also made sure we had glasses for our drinks, etc.
They had something going on everyday and evening....shows, etc. and the ones that we did go to were all very good.
The beaches are public so there are occasional people walking up and down the beach asking if you wanted to purchase all kinds of stuff but as long as you said “no thank you” they don't bother you and go about their business. They never came up to our lounge chairs they always just called out what they were selling & waited for you to signal them that you were interested in something.
Gym was small but we never had to wait to use any of the equipment when we were there, also great yoga class.
The entire staff at Sandals Negril was Great! The weather was awesome while we were there, the beach was beautiful, our suite was grande and only a few steps from the beach area. The resort was one of the smallest Sandals resorts that we have been at but the service was the BEST by far!
We were there for my nieces wedding, which was amazing! They had 18 guests for the ceremony and we all stayed at the Sandals Resort but in different room categories, some guest did get free upgraded to butler suites, etc. since they are doing a lot of renovating to the resort....which is great to see. The rooms that had butler service..all butlers helped out with arrangements, group dinners, beach lounge chairs so we could all be together on beach, lunches, etc. We did stuff as a group and the rest of the time we did our own thing.
It was a great trip, the wedding was awesome and we can't wait to go back again some day!
Next stop, the Sandals Grande St. Lucian in September 2014!

Room Tip: If you can't afford it go,with a butler suite!!

My wife and I just returned from a week stay at SN. In early 2013 we booked a walkout room in the Paradise building. Due to renovations, we were bumped from our room and to our delight we were upgraded to the Palms building with a butler. Sandals is tough to beat ! We would never consider booking a room with a butler. That's just not our thing, but it was a great experience.

Butlers - Tavia was very professional and respected our wishes, giving us the only the service we requested. She provided a cell phone for instant contact. However, we did not feel we needed much from her as the resort offers everything you need close by. I'm an early riser, every morning hot coffee was waiting on the baIcony table when I awoke. It was so relaxing to sit there enjoying the sunrise overlooking the beach. The room came with free Wi-Fi which came in handy for checking in with my office (yes, I'm one of those people). Perks? It was great to have a reserved tiki hut, with lounge chairs on the beach each morning, dinner reservations with a premier table at the restaurants. I have to admit I was a little embarrassed when I can back from a snorkeling trip and she was standing there at waters edge holding the drink of the day over her shoulder (although I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Room - No complaints about the size. One note for the light sleeper like me, the building backs up to the road. Very early in the morning the road noise would pick up and carry through the bathroom windows. We closed the door but the louvers still let quite a bit of sound through. Those who are used to suburban noise may not even hear it.It did not ruin our stay by any means, just wanted to mention it for light sleepers.

We always look forward to the Sandals Select dinner . It's a great opportunity to sit down in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know the Sandals management team along with fellow returning guests who share the experiences at other Sandals Resorts. This year we enjoyed meeting Cheryl the bar manager. After dinner they introduce you to the entire management team and acknowledge guests who have reached attendance milestones. I'm always amazed how many guests receive their free week in reward for their loyalty. The week we were there, at least 9 couples had chalked up over 100 nights at Sandals !

Construction and balconies - For those of you concerned about the loss of the balconies at the Paradise building, they announce while we were there, they received approval from authorities to add balconies to the front of the renovated building. Great news ! As for construction, we were concerned about it, but hardly noticed it was ongoing. Noise was minimal and started late in the morning. Barriers minimized the noise and impact.
Side trips - Took a taxi to Mayfield Falls. About an hour and half drive to a private area. Its a large stream or river with quite a few small falls. Our guide literally walked us up the river (need good balance and shoes). Taking us under the small falls and swimming through an under water tunnel. Showed us several spices that grow wild along the trails. Nice to go to an area off the beaten trail. Great trip, recommend it.
We are always overwhelmed by the friendly staff at SN and amazed at their ability to remember names. It truly feels like you are returning home and consider many of them good friends.Special acknowledgment goes out to: Housekeeping (mostly overlooked), Playmakers; WIllie, Javid and Oliver, Xaiver at the Bistro bar, Geoffrey and Glenville (room service), Gayonne at the Come back Soon desk, Wadea (main dining area), Sashelle and Feleshia at Barefoot By the Sea.

We have stayed at 3 other Sandals properties and this staff is like no other. Hats off to Andre (GM), Edward (Hotel manager) and head Chef Misja for continuing to put a great team together year after year.
Next year we are headed to The Grande at St Lucia, but assure you we will be back to visit our friends at SN

Overall we had a good experience but we aware that there is construction going on so it's noisy at times. The staff is excellent!!! We were part of a group of 20. Xavier and Shadana on the beach were awesome. Xavier didn't even write our drinks down. They also brought us food. On Friday there was Caribbean night set up on the beach. The staff worked all day and it was beautiful. Many food stations, beautifully set tables and entertainment. I thought Nickeisha worked very hard and did an excellent job serving. Through the week we were served by Karleen, Jeffrey, Sashelle and Princess. All did a wonderful job. Anna and Afiya were a great help setting up our private dinner. The tables were set beautifully with linens, silverware, stemware, etc. It was one of my favorite nights. We have already booked the Sandals White House for next year with the help of Jolene and Tayshian.

The resort is 25 years old and we were very disappointed with our room. Our group was in the 2000 and 3000 buildings. The resort is in the process of renovating but that didn't help our stay. It was small, the bathroom was tiny, the bathroom fan did not work, the bathroom door wouldn't open all the way, limited drawer storage - mostly open closet.

We had a terrible time getting beach towels even checking multiple places. We also checked at the end of the day to get them for tomorrow with no luck. We asked at the pool and were told it is a housekeeping issue. With 60 rooms under renovation how will there be enough towels when the resort is full?

If you wish to be pampered and treated exceptionally well, we suggest you take a vacation to Sandals Negril, Jamaica. The exceptional service began in the airport at Jamaica and continued throughout our stay. They are renovating the resort so check carefully to see if the type of room you desire is available. Our room looked exactly like the pictures we saw online. When we were there, the crickets (that's what they told us were making the noise) were terribly loud at night. We thought they were tree frogs. Not sure if that is a year round thing or just the time of year we were there. I'd suggest earplugs! The food was as good as the service. We were never sure about tipping. Some servers would accept tips while others refused to do so. Our suggestions for restaurants include Cucina Romana, Barefoot by the Sea for breakfast, Bayside, the Beach Bistro and Napoli Pizzeria. The beach is beautiful. Some of our favorite beach activities besides just enjoying the view and walking on the beach included tubing and the Glass Bottom Boat. Getting beach towels from the bins was a bit of a problem. If we didn't get the towels before 7 a.m., they would be out of towels until late morning. Safety was never a problem and the security guards were very much a presence and friendly. The daily evening shows at Bayside varied in quality, with most being very good. Make sure you watch the Steel Band entertainment at Bayside. The exercise gym is well equipped. We also enjoyed sitting by the fire pits in the evenings. Xavier, Shadana and Tovia were excellent servers! Kendra was always friendly and helpful. Big Willie (MC) and Oliver (DJ) made our stay very unforgettable. Since we had a large group, Anna and Afiya, set up a private dinner for us that was unforgettable. Jolene and Tayshian from Soon Come Back offered us great advise for our next Sandals visit. You can't go wrong with a vacation at Sandals Negril! As a side note, we traveled from Saturday to Saturday. Our return flight was in the afternoon. Make sure you allow plenty of time at the airport in Jamaica. I'd suggest being at the airport at least 2 or more hours before your flight. We were in lines for a long time to get through security. Not sure if that is always the case, but it was crazy busy when we were leaving.

Room Tip: At night the crickets were very loud and the road noise can be noisy in the Garden View Rooms. That...

We have stayed at most of the Sandals Jamaica properties and have certainly visited them all. My husband has been diving since the mid 90's and raved that the Sandals Negril dive team are the best from Hopeton (the Skipper) to dive masters Kemar, Emron, Philip ..The list goes on. Resort Diving can be a gong show with many levels of experience going on every dive. The Negril dive team is very adept at handling all situations. One on one instruction is also available.
We were fortunate to stay in the newly renovated rooms. In fact, we stayed in the room next door to where we stayed last year. The renos are beautiful. The nicest and most modern room we have had at any Sandals property. Unfortunately the balcony is no longer available however we have heard they are trying to get permits to put balconies back on to those rooms.
As always the food and service are great. Any complaints are minor. Considering how many people cycle through here we believe the Negril staff do a great job. We are already booking for next year!
