Got take out for breakfast one morning while staying nearby at Nirvana. I had ackee with salt fish, which also came with breadfruit, rice and beans, steamed dumplings and fried dumplings (both of which were more like a biscuit). My husband had the steamed calaloo, which came with the same sides. Alot of food for about $7 each. More carbs than we usually consume, but interesting to try a local standard. I was told by the people who work at Nirvana that all of their food is really good.

We stayed at a hotel pretty much across the street and came to sweet spot quite a bit for breakfast and dinner. A lot of locals eat here and the food is really good with decent portions. They make a great peanut porrige for breakfast some mornings.

If you want "ambiance" - this isn't you place. BUT if you want real, LOCAL Jamaican food, with no frills- this is your place. The food here is not only amazing, but the price is excellent. You can walk away with a delicious, home made meal for about $6 US. For anyone wanting to visit a hidden jem, this is your place.

This is another of the places that I eat at in Negril. The food and service are wonderful. I say venture off the resorts for the best food. The locals are friendly and the sites are interesting.
