Picture having dinner in a cave, at water's edge, hundreds of candles and flowers. Once you have reserved the cave, it's yours for the evening. Our five-course gourmet meal was enhanced by the excellent attention of our waiter (Inron) who descended the stone steps throughout the evening with attentive service but without detracting from the intimate setting. His engaging smile and conversation added to the experience. He describes the staff at The Caves as "family" and by dinner's end, we felt part of the family as well. Book a Cave dinner when you arrive so you don't miss out. Also book the private hot-tub, with large windows that open to the sea (and sunset).
The Caves offers the feel of luxury without any pretense. A magnificant setting with panoramic views, semi-private lounge chairs are placed in alcoves built into the cliff side. There are small platforms at varying heights for adventurous guests to jump into the turquoise sea.
We spent the first half of the trip at Half Moon in Montego Bay, which was great, but we fell in love with The Caves. Our room was a little funky (we quickly adapted), but so romantic, great food, better weather, 24 hour bar - it's now our dream place - we'll definitely be back.More
