“Amazing Birthday”
Reviewed February 28, 2012 for a stay in February 2012

A group of ten of us just returned from a week at Llantrisant Villa. Everything about this place was amazing and top knotch. We LOVED it and can't wait to return. The property itself is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. The staff were all very accomodating and friendly and made us feel instantly at home. By the end of the week we felt like we had a new Jamaican family. Thank you especially to Paulette, Ann and Marsha for the delicious food and great laughs. Raymond for taking us out on the town and watching over us and Danny for caring for the property and keeping it so pretty while we were there. Charma and Barry took good care watching over us at night. Thank you to all of you for making my 37th birthday very special. :-)

“A slice of heaven”
Reviewed July 31, 2011 for a stay in July 2011

Our days at Llantrissant were truly a little slice of heaven.
It was stress-free from start to finish. We were greeted at the airport by Benji who drove us to the property in Negril. I'm so glad we decided to hire him as opposed to renting a car. Driving looked a little dicey. We were greeted at the gates by Paulette and Anne, the cooks and housekeepers, and Raymond, the gardener. One step into the home and I felt like I'd been transported into somewhere Hemingway would have lived. The home is a beautifully maintained treasure. Everything is open to the ocean. Not a window to be found, just open to all the sights and sounds of the ocean. The back porch was where we spent nearly every moment...that we weren't in the water. We ate every meal together on the porch with the ocean as the backdrop.
We decided to have all of our meals at home. While there may be good restaurants to visit nearby, it hardly seemed necessary. Fisherman stopped by and let us pick our own lobsters and fish, fresh from their morning's catch. Anne and Paullette prepared everything for us. They were willing to prepare whatever we asked for. We had fresh lobster, spicy shrimp and pasta, jerk chicken, goat curry, escovitch fish and the rice and beans (they call it rice and peas) are not to be missed. And be sure to ask for the fresh fruit for breakfast. The mangos came from Benji's mango tree in his front yard. I will miss them! I did shop with Anne once, mostly just for the experience, but after that they did all the extra shopping that needed to be done.
We spent every day from dawn until the rain rolled in in the ocean. The snorkeling around the property is amazing. The kids spent every moment checking out the exciting underwater creatures. Everything from puffer fish and clown fish to octopus and stingrays...they seemed to be most active at dawn and dusk. One ray jumped right up out of the water to give us an extra thrill. We followed him around for a half hour hoping he'd jump again. If you didn't want underwater thrills, our oldest daughter spent much of her time just floating on the mats.
The kayaks were awesome too! We took them up and down the coast and further out into the ocean to see what was there and the gorgeous aquamarine water...lots of fan coral and brain coral. Beautiful.
One negative thing I could say is that there weren't enough masks and snorkels so that we could all snorkel together. We're a pretty big family though...7. And the goggles we brought with us got chewed up by the puppies on the first day...our fault, we left them out in the yard.
I guess only one other complaint, the music from nearby venues was loud but we were able to pretty much ignore it all but our last night there. With the upcoming independence celebration, all the college aged kids arrived to celebrate in Negril our last day. It went on until 4am. That was a bit much. The owner told me Sundays are the worst.
One important suggestion, take bug spray, the mosquitos are fierce. WIth the house being totally open, they are everywhere. The netting over the beds may look quaint, but it's absolutely essential!
I was so sad as we drove away. It was a wonderful vacation in every way. As a mom, vacation doesn't always mean vacation for me, but this truly was. I played with my kids from dawn until dusk, while Anne and Paulette took care of everything else.
We'll be back!

“Beautiful property. Would come back in a heartbeat!”
Reviewed July 25, 2011 for a stay in September 2010

There are so many wonderful things about the property I don't even know where to start. The staff was fabulous, so friendly and helpful! We loved having our own beach, with our own kayaks. We were able to watch a beautiful sunset every night while eating dinner on the patio. We also felt very safe here. There were two guard dogs that would bark if anyone came onto the property and when it got dark there was always a security guard walking the property to make sure we were safe. It was really a trip of a lifetime and would come back to this property in a heartbeat.

“Great place to stay in Negril.”
Reviewed July 9, 2011 for a stay in July 2011

We enjoyed our stay at Llantrissant. We loved the private setting and that we had the place all to ourselves. The staff was great. Paulette, Ann and Raymond were attentive and the meals they prepared were awesome. Ann's jerk chicken and fried dumplings is a must.
