“A Diamond in Negril...”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

Let me start by saying this is not a Hilton, but it is a great small lovely unknown jewel in Negril!!!
We stayed at CocoLaPalm for our 3rd trip to Jamaica. If you've ever been you know that Negril is the best beach there. Not man made, but just a beautiful beach with white sand and perfect sunny weather. This hotel literally sits on the 7 mile beach. Great location! I walked out my door and down the sidewalk and I was there. I loved it! The staff was friendly and nice. We didnt do any excusrions as it was our third visit to Jamaica. I can honsetly say Im a seasoned Jamaica traveler. We were in walking distance to everything. If you want to visit the local night club where the locals hang out and party go to "The Jungle" which isnt far from here. Catch a taxi and they know exactly where it is! We had a blast dnaicng all night, and they party all night!!! For local food there are many places right on the beach. We walked to so many places right from our hotel. Margaritaville isnt far; we walked there had drinks, listened to live reggae, and hung out. If you want to venture out for great food try "Sweet Spice" which also is not far by taxi. The food is aweome! Some locals shared this rare gem with us as well. I love the culture and people of Jamaica. We talked to and met many people just walking down the beach. Gotta love the local rastas. After they try selling you stuff ,and you deny them then just tallk to them...lol Learn the land and you wont regret it. It was great!!! Location I give a 10! Beach I give a 10! This hotel is definitley a 10! You will love it.

We just got home this morning after staying at Cocolapalm for 9 nights. This was our first stay after reading many, many trip reviews. Wonderful staff, cannot say enough about the fine people who make this place so fantastic - The Stickman on the beach who watches over you when we negotiated with the vendors on the beach - he is wonderful - Erica, the young woman who cleaned our room so it shined and always had a smile; Michele, the lovely woman at the beach bar and the fabulous lady who made the best quarter piece chicken, rice and beans and coleslaw ever - Antoinette, I hope I spelt your name right, a beautiful young lady who is a trainee at the restaurant - thank you.

We enjoyed Coco so much. I have stayed at two all inclusives in Jamaica and highly recommend you stay here. The Jamaican's are fabulous people and are great to talk with and get to know. The food is fabulous and no one is going to hurt you. Don't let the bad publicity about safety fool you.

Please feed the sweet cats. Just go to Hi Low.

We started with a deluxe room but I found it too small for us and we moved to a superior room which was just fine.

Room Tip: Next time I would love to stay in an upstairs room as we spend evening's relaxing in our room.

We returned to CoCo LaPalm for the second time this past Christmas, and we were not disappointed. This time we booked a standard room on the ground floor and it was fantastic, a bit smaller than the junior deluxe we booked in 2011 but just as comfortable. This time instead of an expansive balcony, we had a private garden seating area which was great for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. As with last visit, the staff were great! This time we made sure to attend some of the hotel events such as the manager's party and we were able to let the hotel manager know about our great experience with his very well run hotel. I think the only thing I would suggest would be for the hotel to install a second bar area near the pool on the other side of the grounds.

Room Tip: our standard room on the ground floor was great, providing a small private garden area

My brother and I stayed at CocoLaPalm and just returned from our trip and I had to sit down and tell you how wonderful it was to stay here. It was our first time to visit Nigril and we had heard that it was a great place to stay and we were not disappointed! The rooms were nice size and very clean. The beds were comfortable. Air conditioning worked fine and it was always quiet in the evenings. The location is in the middle of the beach with a very peaceful feel to it. It is a small place but there is a lot of beach front and it is a plus not to have to walk far to get to your room. The people that work here are exceptionally warm and caring. After the second day Steve was looking out for us by setting out our chairs for us with our towels in the morning. Activities include two nice pools, hot tub and beautiful ocean front to swim. Guards on duty at all times to make sure that the patrons were not bothered with people selling on the beach. Morning included a free breakfast of juice or fruit and a big basket full of homemade pastries or you could trade it in for a discount on a different breakfast. Best happy hour on the beach with two for one drinks. We did not eat dinner here but I heard the food was really good. We would definetly come back! I hope this helped you.

Room Tip: I actually liked the rooms that have the two queen size beds for comfort over the king size bed.

Stay at Coco Laplam Sept27,2012-Oct,2012 with two of my girlfriends for a birthday weekend. At first we had questions and concern because this was going to be our first time here at a smaller resort. But once we arrive we were like this is very nice compare to the all inclusive place we stayed quieter more lay back no worry kind of feel.
Staff was great and attentive to you and your need. Guest was friendly. Location was perfect beach at your door step. Security the best! The staff at the bigger resort wasn't to friendly. I will be back.

This was our second time to CCLP, with a very BAD experience to Barbados in the middle. In a nutshell here is what we really liked:

1. Antoinet and Shirley at breakfast! They were fantastic and we looked forward to seeing them every morning!
2. Happy Hour with Vernon! We learned a lot about Cricket from him.
3. Very comfortable beds. I haven't slept that good since the last time we were there!
4. Very clean.
5. Beach is immaculate and not crowded. Even this time walking the beach, we decided that it is the best location and has the most sand. As you will see many have had their beaches washed away (Treehouse etc...)
6. Vendors don't bother us. Be polite and say no thank you and they will leave you alone.
7. BEST IN THE WEST! Can't ask for better jerk chicken and it is directly across the street. On busier nights expect to wait a bit. Just order another Red Stripe.
8. We hired a driver -ORAL with aOK Taxi Service. 876.385.9006. Arrived on time both ways and we didn't have to stop at a bunch of hotels along the way.
9. Go to Hi Lo and get some beer and munchies for your room.
10. Stingrays swam by a couple times a day and they pay no attention to you. Really pretty.
11. They do add a 10% tip to your bill, but if you want to recognize your server you will need to hand them their tip.
12. Ivan's at Catcha Falling Star-great meal, wonderful view
13. Lobster at Kuyaba and 3 Dives. Not to me missed. Halved and grilled for $20-$35 pp. well worth it
14. Bring a little collapsible cooler to keep your beer cold on the beach.
15. Bring a thermos for water and powerade packets. Need to stay hydrated!
16. Bring some plastic utensils for the room

We love it and will be back. Feel free to email me any questions you may have!
