Was not my pick to stay at this particular place, my friend that asked me to go didn't know either. Four of us went. The travel agent did not give any detail but encouraged the destination as she and her husband had visited before. Jamaica is where I wanted to visit but not to stay at this particular hotel after we arrived. If you would like to visit make sure its as a couple, not for singles! I'm sure someone will enjoy it. We did as many excursions as possible so that we would not have to hangout at the hotel. I give an average rating because the food was delicious as it was all inclusive including drinks!!!!!!

We enjoy returning to hedo every year...this year was our 6th stay (4th stay at Hedo 2...other 2 at Hedo 3). The beach with palm trees close to the bar is the best spot...you can listen to music, see the entertainment, close to bar, close to cafe...close to the water (pool or ocean). We enjoy visiting the regular staff (Augustus, Michelle, Nigel, Delroy...and Winston!!). We do not come here for the amenities (hotel is very basic)-its the nude pool/spa/bar and freedom to wear your birthday suit. Bring your own conditioner and lotion ladies. We really like the open/friendly environment-we have made several friends over the years. We typically go when there are groups. Note that the groups sometimes have their own themes; which will throw you off if you are going by what is online. This September was VERY slow. People tended to disappear in the evenings. The food is good the first few days...we typically stay 9-10 days and leave the resort for a change of pace one evening to have a nice dinner (cab is $30/couple) and they wait while you eat to take you back. The best month is January. The prude side goes nude. The type of room really doesn't matter-they are all the same (nude/prude)-distance is not an issue; the place is pretty easy to get around. You can walk around nude on the nude side...plus if you don't want to throw on clothes to go back to your room. We really like this place...wish it were a bit more upscale.

Room tip: Nude side is best, but recommend paying for any room and taking a chance. Everything is close.

Pros: beautiful property, staff is very friendly, Entertainment was wonderful

Cons: food could be better, ran out of rum, guest activities virtually non existant, customer gifts for the contest that did happen were not available, ran out of jerk chicken. Iwould not recommend going during off season, if you are looking forward to activity/activities, nothing started on time, just abit poor in planning and how you run out of rum or jerk chicken in Jamaica at an all inclusive resort????? for as much as the rates are internet should be included. One day of seven has lobster tail, other six as stated before was dissapointing as far as menues and options

Room tip: ocean view is worth it

Had a blast! What more can I say. 3rd trip in 9 months here. We love it. Staff is nice, food is better with addition of the new executive chef. Again, not for everyone. Only free spirited folks who like to party hard please. Don't ruin it for the rest of us if you are an uptight complainer.

Room tip: it does not matter where you stay. Each side has an advantage and disadvantage. Some are closer to food, others to the beach/nude side. Go wth the value if you want to save some cash. If you want to be on the nude side, it is worth the extra I guess, but just enjoy yourself!

My husband & I just returned from spending last week at H2. We have been going to the Hedos for 15 years! I want to say first, that we are still extremely disappointed that H3 closed. That one was our favorite! Ok, to the reviews. I'll break it down in categories.

1) ENTERTAINMENT STAFF: They were fun & friendly. Not at all pushy Loved loved loved Winston. 50 was also fun. Nick was very nice and Hillario (?) has an awesome voice. I hope he's discovered by country music one day because he can sing! 2) Michelle (don't know last name) was super fun to hang with. All the others were good but these are the ones who shined.

2) ROOMS: Rooms seem to be the same. Updated a tad bit. Showers have more shower heads but I never used them. One strong shower head is good for me and thankfully the shower heads are strong now! Water temperature always fluctuated. First few days it took almost 10 min. to get hot water but then the last day I couldn't get nothing but hot water. Bathrooms are quite small. Nice thing though this is the first time ever that we didn't see those itty bitty tiny ants on the bathroom sink. :) The beds were comfortable and the ac worked well. Wish the tv offered more channels to watch than porn though.

3) TRANSFERS: Transfer from aiport to hotel was pretty smooth & quick. I think this is the shortest we've waited. I don't like that the porters tell you to tip them though. We love to tip but tipping is based on service; it's not a given. And when you ask me for a tip, I'm more inclined not to give you one. Smooth ride to hotel. Ride from hotel back to airport was quick too even though our driver scared the crap out of us a few times when passing cars.

4) RESORT GROUNDS/AMENITIES: The grounds of the resort hasn't changed and still looks great. A short walk to anywhere you want to go no matter where your room is. A ground floor room is the way to go. Especially after a drinking binge. :) The pools seemed to be clean. The beach is nice. Love the swim up bars. Every hotel should have one. Prude pool is very pretty even though we never used it. Waterslide is a lot of fun! Disco was fun but extremely HOT. I started sweating as soon as I walked in. We didn't go a few times because of the heat and the times we did, we only stayed a while because it was just too hot. Definitely needs better or more A/C. Gym is very nice. Although I think it could use better A/C also. Didn't use the spa so no comment there. Piano bar was nicely cooled and it was a lot of fun. I wish the piano bar stayed open longer with dj music because we would've loved to have stayed in there instead of heading to the disco.

5) FOOD/RESTAURANTS: I heard they have a new executive chef but apparently he was pulled over from H3. I think he may need to go back to chef school because the food was pretty bad. I think this is the first time I came home with weight lost instead of gained. I didn't eat much. The trip was great except this is where it really fell short of satisfaction. We didn't bother eating at the Japanese because it's hot as it is and the tables are outside and I couldn't imagine sitting at a hot table with all that heat coming off of it. We ate at the Italian twice. The food was good on both occassions. However, the 2nd time we waited over TWO hours to be served! This is not acceptable. My husband actually went out to the buffet and got a plate and brough the food back into the restaurant because we were all starving. And all our dishes kept coming out at different times. There was a group of 8 of us and 3 dishes came out. Then 5 minutes later a few more dishes came out. Then finally after all of our food got cold because we were being courteous and waiting for the final dishes they last 2 came out. Again, the food was good but this left a very bad taste in our mouths. Ok, now the buffet. Whew, where do I start? The buffet was just plain horrible. It has really gone down hill in the last few years. I will say thought that lobster night was the night they had the best food at the buffet. The spicy mac & cheese was awesome! It was the only thing all week that I went back for seconds. All of the fruits & veggies seemed very bland & watered down. Even the pasta at the pasta station seemed watery and I spiced it up! And this was every night. Also, wish they had better food at the midnight buffet. They only offered hotdogs & hamburgers. Loved the jerk chicken & grilled cheese at the nude grill though. That was probably my favortie time to eat. Ok. So enough about the food.

6) ACTIVITIES: We, for the first time, went kayaking. It was fun! Although a lot of work. We kayaked out to the little island and had grilled lobster for lunch. This was probably the best part of the trip. The lobster was great! And here's the kicker: I don't eat lobster. We paid $30 for the both of us and we picked out our lobsters and they cut & grilled it there. Beware the lady selling items there though: she was quite rude. Look for the cat; Lobsterfino. A little orange tabby. So friendly & sweet and he waits for your leftovers. We wanted to go sailing but didn't have time. We did do the nude catamaran trip to the cavese & snorkeling and that was a lot of fun. However, bring tipping money because there are like 8 workers that expect to be tipped when it's over. And bring lots of sunscreen & a hat. Very hot with not much shade. But it was a lot of fun.

7) WAIT STAFF: The wait staff in the restaurant was for the most party ok. There were a few rude ones. No one stood out as being polite & friendly & helpful though. I know people will say "oh, it's Jamaican culture". But I doubt that any culture's mannerism is to be rude. And we've been to several other resorts in Jamaica and the wait staff was very friendly. The staff at this resort could really take a lesson from others. There were so many occassions when I was walking with my food and crossed paths with a wait staff and they cut me off. Any courteous staff member would allow the guest to go through first. I wouldn't complain if this happend only once with only one person but it happened several times with different staff. Just plain rude.

8) OTHER: We don't usually go off the resort but one night we did go to an outside restaurant called Zuyamba. It's a few miled down from the resort. They have a shuttle that will pick you up and it's included in the price of your dinner. The food here was very good! Although the wait was quite long. Also, if you pay with American money make sure to ask for American change back. They say it's against the law but bull crap. They'll do it. Or if you don't want the hassle, just use a credit card.

SUMMARY: Ok, I know this review is long but I wanted to try to cover everything. To sum it all up, we had a good time and met many new people and we went with a group so that made it even better. Had we not have been with a group, I think it would've been worse. However, the cons outweighed the pros on this trip and we have decided that the only way we'd visit Hedo 2 again is only if a huge group of friends were to go. Also, my husband & I are very laid back people and we don't do 5 star hotels or expect gourmet food. But this was a bit disppointing.
