My husband and I just returned (9/30 -10/7) from our 4th trip to CSA. We are as in love with the resort as the first time we went.

The room was well appointed and comfortable. A/C worked good, TV had sufficient stations, towels were restocked, etc.. The only issue was spotty wifi, but that seemed to happen every evening with other guests were probably also logging on while getting ready for dinner.

We ate at every restaurant except for Seagrapes. The quality of food and available options were great this trip. Our favorite for breakfast was The Palms because we liked the variety of options and the fresh fruit is an added bonus. Our top spots for lunch were Patois and Palms. Patois would be our favorite if the menu changed more often. They seem to have the same menu for 3-4 days in a row. We didn't have a favorite for dinner as we had good meals at all of the dinner restaurants. If you are a Repeater, do not miss the Repeater's dinner held on Monday night. This meal was by far our favorite of the week.

The Beach is amazing! We enjoyed lounging on the chairs and taking our rafts into the ocean. The beach flag service was very good this year. We never had a problem getting clean towels.

The sports complex across the street is definitely under-utilized. We played tennis, racquetball and basketball and also swam in the lap pool. There were very few people over there. The 3 times we used the pool we were the only ones in it. We also watched some NFL football and played ping pong at the sports complex.

Only issues we had the whole week:
- Be careful at check in that all of your promised resort credits are in your packet. This is the 2nd trip in a row that they were not in there. It is not a good way to start your vacation.
- Some of the water ports gentlemen were less than helpful this time around. This was disappointing as in years past it has been one of our favorite parts of the trip.

All in all a great trip. Can't wait to return October 2019.

Room was very comfortable, in beautiful garden surroundings and quiet. Service in this hotel was probably the best we have experienced in Jamaica and we have been to hotels in MoBay, Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay and Kingston. Food was great, facilities were also very good. Beautiful beach, not at all crowded (we were there in September 2017). Would definitely go back to this hotel, it exceeded my expectations by far. Just do it!

Room Tip: Garden view better than sea view in my opinion

Our first time to Jamaica based on friends recommendations for this specific resort. The property appears to be dated as 1/2 of it is being renovated. Our first evening the A/C failed to work properly - they may need to hire a maintenance manager who knows how to schedule and implement preventive maintenance schedules to prevent future recurrence. We were put into a temporary room the first night, then on the second day moved to an oceanview room; our first room was oceanview overlooking the bar pool. Our room rate was adjusted with a credit to our total bill. The staff we dealt with on the A/C issue were courteous and made sufficient effort to ensure our comfort but in the Jamaican heat the A/C working properly is a critical requirement, plus having to move from the room you booked to a temporary accommodation due to their lack of maintenance. The only other issue we had was getting our room serviced, fresh towels, sheets, bathroom products, etc. We had to go to the front desk to get this service (twice in the week we were at the resort). The beach staff were great, very friendly and accommodating (Johnathan and Tavis) - the rest of the staff although nice - had no sense of urgency to complete a task/request made of them. We had fun but it wasn’t the level of service we expected - we’ll try Mexico and compare to the CSA in Jamaica.

Dear bivens7710,

Thank you for staying with us. Sorry to see you only rated us 3 stars. Our management team will definitely look into the issues you had with engineering and housekeeping. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Before you switch destinations, please have a look at Couples Negril. This resort may be more to your liking.

Kind Regards,
Abraham Issa

This resorts rooms are nicer than Sandals, closer to the beach, and the food was better, sandals had nicer common areas but who goes on vacation for the common areas? I proposed at a beachside bon fire with live music, every Wednesday they do it.

Room Tip: Ask room service not to lock patio door unless you ha e electronic key for front door

This is my 4th time at CSA and although not 5 star the rooms are of a serviceable 4 star level.

The sports are a superb plus with 3 resident tennis coaches, and 1 bought in from the USA on a weekly basis. The gym is real equipped but starting to show its’ age. Squash and Racketball courts are some of the best around and that includes the UK. Tennis, there are 4 clay and 6 hard courts all in decent condition and tended to daily. Water sports (scuba diving, Snorkelling and sailing are all included in the price as is any tuition required)

Food selection is good with daily specials that do repeat on a weekly basis overall very good. The staff are courteous and friendly. If anything the food is a little bland, I am guessing to suit international tastes, however there is always fresh cooked meat, fish and vegetables. Visitors with special dietary needs are catered for without fuss and with an understanding attitude.

The feature restaurants (Feathers) which is an international cuisine choosing from a medium sized menu is decent enough and the service is good. Lemongrass the Thai themed place is decent enough if a little unadventurous, however the view is amazing.

Unfortunately the resort is let down a little by the people that visit it some of whom are really rude to the staff, however this thankfully is the small minority.

Decent enough selection of house wine and spirits including a prosecco style wine. Beer is of course Red Stripe. It is a shame that the Red Stripe in bottles in no longer included in the mini bar, instead it is bottles that are a little tinny in flavour.

A little sortie up the beach outside of the bounds of CSA brings you the real tourist side of Jamaica which is super for a beer or a bit of shopping or Jerk Chicken at Times Square that is a 300 Jamaican $ ride away (about 3 UK Pounds) or a 30 minute walk.

If new visitors I would recommend doing the orientation as there is so much on the site and directly across the road on the sports complex.

In summary not 5 star but nearly, with courteous staff a huge selection of sports and activities rolled in with some far better than average selection of food. As a bonus transfers are included as well from Montego Bay.
