My husband and I stayed at Couples Swept Away for our honeymoon (Aug. 9-19) I was absolutely impressed with the service, food, rooms, and beach. The resort offers every activity you could imagine and we never had to leave the resort. You could bring $100 with you and be set for the week! The only money we spent was to go parasailing ($60 and well worth it!) The food is amazing, no need to go elsewhere. I don't see why everyone seems to complain about pests and bugs, sure there were mosquitos, but that was expected. I never saw any other bugs or pests besides the clan of about 10 orange tabby cats that roam the beach, but they were adorable and unbothersome. My husband and I will definitely stay at Couples Swept Away again!

Spent 15 days, 14 nights, at Couples Swept Away, July-26-August 9th. We went to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, and wanted to make sure, we had a spectacular veiw, since we would be there for 2 weeks. We paid for the "Oceanfront Veranda Suite", and by far, this is one of the worst veiws we have ever had, not to mention, the size of the room, supposively, being a "Suite". A "Suite" for one thing, is more than one room, which this was'nt. And as far as the "veiw" we stared at the back of the Beachfront Veranda Suites, the whole 2 weeks we were there. (If you looked as hard as you could, through the trees, you could possibly see a few inches of the ocean.) We go somewhere in the carribean, every year, for our anniversary, and we have never stayed at a hotel where the guest management services, were'nt there, willing to help, with whatever you needed.. we expressed our disappointment with the room, and veiw, and they told us, if we wanted to pay $80.00 more a day, they could move us to a beachfront room. We had bought our vacation, back in march, and thought, with what we paid, we would atleast be able to "see" the ocean.. Leathon, in guest services, was supposed to set up a meeting with Management for us, never heard from them, when ever we ran into Leathon again, he asked if we had heard from management yet, we said no, and all he said was "Ouch". Nadia Gibbs, also in guest services, was full of promises, she did'nt keep either, once we expressed our disappointment, they ignored us... The simple truth to this was, we paid $6000.00 for 2 weeks, to get away to a beautiful place, leave all our troubles behind, since we both own business's, and we only get away once a year, have been to beautiful places in the carribean, always had beautiful veiws, with everyone at the hotels, more than willing, to make your trip, a great one, with hopes, you would return. The management at this resort, do not care, how their guests feel, and we will not be returning to Swept Away, we will spend our hard earned money elsewhere. I have always loved the island of Jamaica, and have visited several times, this was our first trip to Negril, we always had been to Ochos Rios, we will return to Ocho Rios, next time, where the people on that side of the island, seem to care more.... If you are thinking of a trip to Swept Away, don't waste your money, upgrading your room, thinking you will have a better veiw, trust me, save the extra money for souvenirs, it will be money, better spent. If you do have problems, make sure you don't have Leathon or Nadia, needing to solve them for you, because they won't really care how you feel, and will ignore you, once you express disappointment.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary the week of August 16th at Swept Away. We have been to many of the islands and have stayed at many all inclusive resorts. Let me start by saying that the Jamaican people are very hard working people and for the money they make could not have been more friendly. Yes at times service was slow but if you have traveled the caribbean that is just the way it is. Believe me it is alot worse on other islands. The beach is clean and raked every morning you also get a yellow flag for Beach Bar sevice which was very nice and the service was very good. On some days they would come around with ice cold lemon wash cloths to wipe your face with as well as fruit delivered right to your beach chairs. The food was excellent with so many choices that you could not go hungry. Feathers there top of the line restaurant is a real treat we had dinner there on two nights. Please do not miss feathers!!! We stayed in a Atrium Suite in the older section and it was just what we expected. The new rooms look very nice but are much smaller. My wife and I walked south as far as Sandals Negril and North as far as Jimmy Buffet's. If you just say No thank you to the vendors thay will not bother you. The only issue we did have was with housekeeping our room was not made up until 3:30 or 4pm on some days and never had our full allotment of towles whatever was misiing would be delivered some nights at 9:30
when you spend most of the day at the beach you like to have fresh towels when you return to your room. All in all our stay was wonderfull the people we met young and old were great and everyone we spoke to just loved the time they were having at Swept Away.

My wife and I and another couple stayed here Aug. 14 -18 and had a great time. I liked the way it started, we stepped of the plane, grabed a cold Red Stripe from the bar and went through customs, good way to start a vacation!

The ride from the airport was as expected, check in was smooth, offered "smoke" declined, no big deal. We had a new Beachfront Veranda room that was 2nd floor next to the construction. I asked to be moved they said we probably could the next day. They only asked that we pack our bags for the bell man. We were moved to room 3117, a first floor corner room. Others have said the 2nd and 3rd floors are the best, not in my opinion. You have a walk way right off your balcany to the beach, great view, great access, great place to sit when it rains (if you don't want to sit on the beach, but you're wet anyway, right?) Absolutely loved our room, and would request and recommend it to everyone. Mini bar was always stocked, great a/c.

The property itself is nice, but could use some updating in the main dining room, food was good and you won't go hungry. Bring insulated mugs for your drinks, some days you will have a beach person that is quick with a drink, other days you need to get it yourself, not a big deal. They do have quality drinks; Barcadi, Jack Daniels, Absolute, Miller, etc. Just ask for a drink with your brand.

Excursions were fun, did some diving, sailing, and Pirates cove. At Pirates cove, $2 for a rum drink and jump off a cliff, well worth it. Great boat ride to and from in the evening. Make sure to keep your legs together on the jump and squeeze your rear really tight :)

Jimmy Buffett's is just down the beach a 10 minute walk. Fun tourist place to go if you want, but food is decent.

All in all, a fun time, slowed pace, decent food, too much drink, great sun, beach, water, etc.

My wife also found the hotel's internet access a Godsend since she was a little uneasy being away from our kids for an extended period of time. This allowed her to keep in touch with the grandparents that were watching our sons. You can buy calling cards in the gift shop if needed.

Definitely take bug spray with you for the pesky critters that like to come out at night.

We were married at Couples Swept Away in January 2004. What can we possibly say about this resort, other than it was perfect!!

The facilities were supreme, meals were miles above par, drinks were great, beach was awesome - well patrolled - we were not hassled once.

The spa was great - clean, on-time, organized and professional.

All the sports you can think of - and every sport they offer comes with free professional lessons, including tennis and other racquet sports, water sports.

No whistle blowing morons running around bugging you all day long either - but always lots to do - the perfect mix of fun and relaxation.

Golf and transfers are also included at the Negril Hills Golf Club. You pay for the mandatory caddies, who are not terribly useful, but it was great anyhow - a very hilly course that is sometimes awkward to play, but it was nice to be in the sun on the links!!

We upgraded to an oceanview room - certainly not necessary, although I would recommend moving up to Atrium from the Garden View - Garden View is closer to the road and some people said that they could hear traffic at night. Nothing but tropical and ocean sounds in the Atrium and Oceanview rooms though!

The entire property is cut through tropical jungle - you follow secluded paths everywhere - like being in a true jungle paradise.

The wedding went off without a hitch - well organized, on-time, as planned and well done - Tamika is very experienced and great to deal with.

We would recommend Couples Swept Away to anyone - we had 11 people there and everyone still raves about it. Do yourself a favour and go here - you will not be disappointed.
