Place had good food but staff a bit unfriendly. Food arrived fast and was pretty good. Be aware of the hot sauces, they are hotter than we in the U.S. might be used to.

The food was amazing!!! We asked our driver where we could get some real Jamaican food and he suggested Sweet Spice. We stopped in on our way to Negril and picked up some oxtail with rice and peas, jerk chicken and escovietch fish. I have to say it was the BEST Jamaican food we had on our whole trip. It was authentic and plentiful. Even the food at our very cozy resort could not compare to the quality of this place. All our meals were cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. I found the prices reasonable for the amount of food that was served and compared to other places we had frequented while on vacation. I would highly recommend Sweep Spice Restaurant if you want the real deal.

We really enjoyed our meal here. We each got a bowl of delicious fish soup to start and then we (three of us) split oxtail, curried goat and escovietch fish. Each dish was very good and much better than a lot of the watered down touristy fare we kept getting from restaurants on the beach. The prices were also much much cheaper.

We hit a taxi to take us somewhere we could both patronize a local establishment AND try something that wasn't just an American breakfast in Jamaica. We were very sorry to have tried Sweet Spice as we both ended up with French Toast, Scrambled Eggs and Bacon and a glass of orange juice- oh, and a "sample" of the National dish 'Ackee and saltfish'.

Despite a mild chat with the friendly waitress of how her own children even both love and hate the national dish, we received the WAY OVER PRICED BILL. What a downer to be shafted like that.

We just ate there last night. It is one of the best deals in Negril. Food and service is great. Fish soup is a highlight. You get the real Jamaician experience here. Not a tourist trap. We eat here every time we come to Negril. Highly recommend.
