Tropical breeze is a stunnigly beautiful, conviently located guest house, with all the ammenities of home, offering enough Jamaican flavor to get a taste of the "real" Negril. Minutes from the beach, and stunning views from the terrace of local Negril Jamaica, make this guesthouse my favorite tropical destination to date, by far. The food was delicous, the staff courtious and extremly helpful. Anything one could need is at your fingertips, with out the crowds of tourist filled resorts.Tropical Breeze is a truly personalized Jamaican experience. The night life in negril was exeptional with always something going on from campfire lit parties on the beach, to reggea concerts and dance clubs. During the day relaxing on the beach soaking in the sun filled, white sand ocean views while sipping a red stripe, is just what the doctor ordered. An aray of activities from snorkling and cliff jumping, to parasailing made the trip exciting and satisified the adventurer in me. I would definatly recomend this guest house to anyone looking for escape for a Carribean vacation, it will not disappoint. All the best to those planning on visiting, and just remember, No Problems Mon!!!!!

My family and I vacationed here and had an amazing time. We were lucky enough to be there at the same time as the owner Karen and the hospitality was camparable to none. From the authentic Jamaican cuisine to the day trips to places off the beaten path. We feel we got to experience the real Jamaica. The Guesthouse has you living amongst the locals and you get a real feel for the community.
The Guesthouse itself is beautiful. It was very clean and nicely decorated and it truly felt like a home away from home at such a reasonable price. The pool was beautiful. Everything so well manicured and maintained. It was so private but still so close to all the local restaurants, bars, shopping and breathtaking beach which were all in walking distance.
We would highly recommend this Guesthouse to any and all ages and will definitely be return visitors. We can't wait to go back.

Arrived late to Tropical Breeze after being picked up by Karen and Brandon, so relaxed and welcoming, felt I was in Jamaica right away, just cool.
Stayed in this homey guest house for nine days and enjoyed every minute of it. The beach was close by, just 10 min walk, great to get away from all that buzz at the end of the day and just chill on the terrace. Hanging by the pool, enjoying nice conversation with the other guests, sunbathing and drinking beer, reading...I feel I got the experience the real Jamiaca, with pool playing in the hills, river walks and true Jamaican cuisine at times.

My friend and I stayed at The Tropical Breeze this winter for approx. 2 months in the cottage. The cottage was basic rustic with shared kitchen and washroom. it was clean but needed a couple of things when we arrived and our needs were looked after quite quickly by Bobby and Devon. Through our 2 month stay many friends of ours stayed in the guest house so we were in and out of there with regularity, so I can say everything looked very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The pool is lovely and in a gret area to gey heavy duty rays. Large wooden loungers with cushions were added in Jan.
The location itself is a money saver (no need for cabs). All within a 5 min. walking distance are beach, 3 grocery stores, numerous eateries,2 bakeries,3 pharmacies
2 doctors, some really cool Jamaican bars(cheap) Digicel outlet, 2 banks and numerous ATM's and Cambios(money exchange), plenty of souvy shops and a OTB shop.
Now if you are in need of a cab you are at the hub from which they operate. The cheap ones are called route taxis and will take you anywhere on the beach(7 miles) or anywhere on the cliffs(4 miles)for approx. $1 US.
Yes I would recommend The Tropical Breeze to anyone who is looking for an affordable vacation(the more affordable the longer the stay-get it). Found it clean, secure and in a GREAT location

Everything started off so well.....a pick up was arranged through the guest house......Devon,the property manager, was great......and told us he could be contacted for anything...which kinda backed up the impression we got through the emails we received before we left.....that there were staff,a manager on the property. This was not so.

The room was basic but seemed ok on first inspection...nice balcony....with no table or chairs?....rectified with a few shouts and moaning by Devon at Bobby...the really old gentleman who had struggled bringing our bags in...so much so I brought my own in ,I would have felt too embarassed watching him.....

Started to unpack...the alcove that had the shelves on it,was the wardrobe...this was open,no doors and the shelves were dirty.....

We had to clean them with baby wipes before we put our clothes on them.....not acceptable..we had been assured that Devons Daughter had been hard at work cleaning the room.....just that day.......the property was underbooked ,just us and another couple at this time.....so no excuse really.....it had dust everywhere...not filthy but a fine layer....

We had a shared bathroom..we knew about this...no problem, clean enough...but would not do that again.....

We more or less ate ,showered and went out.......so far...kinda ok?

Until the next day......we realised the room and bathroom were not clean at all...

We had booked for 4 nights and eventually stayed 3,after numerous emails we did eventually get the 4th nights money back before we left the island....

The reasons for our departure were ,and this was the last straw......all our electrical sockets fused quite early on the 3rd day......

They were still not fixed on the day we left....the 4th day,in the late afternoon....

This meant we could not use any of our electrical appliances or the A/C and the food in our fridge spoiled...

Other problems.....no one onsite except Bobby ,who is extremely old and you felt you just couldn't complain or ask him to do things....he was really sweet tho......

No breakfasts as promised and included, bathroom was never cleaned. It was for us and the other guests to do...we muddled along, mainly because we were all quite clean. If anyone had been not so..it would have been a pigsty...

No clean linen...and we were never to see any bed linen or towels cleaned...the dirty towels in the bathroom basket stayed there for the whole time we were there...altho we were given fresh towels on arrival....

The property is being renovated/finished at the moment and is actually really dangerous..some parts resemble a construction site including the area surrounding the new pool.....unfinished stairways leading to huge drops....under no circumstances could children stay here.....

The pool was lovely but had no loungers(these were shown in website photos) ,chairs or tables....lol.....so you couldnt sit down or lie down to sunbathe.......2 towels on hard hot concrete really didnt cut it.....

No visible staff except Bobby...at any time........he was a sweetie tho.....just as well...if he had been unfriendly ,you would have felt quite isolated on the property.....

There were other guests...a group of Germans(don't mention the war)..they were no trouble....spent most of their time stoned.....one time tho..my friend left the bathroom, she was in the shower ,to come back into our room for shampoo and one of them jumped in the shower?....lolol..[-]?......as if you would do that......

We decided on the morning of the 4th day to move....we had in effect no electricity in our room.

We went along the beach and did a deal in a hotel on a 'walk up ' rate...
All we had to do was sort out a car to move...one phone call to a friend and it was done.......an hour later we had left this guest house on to better things.....

The owner ,a Canadian lady, really needs to get herself back to Jamaica and sort her business out....it felt through the emails that we sent after our stay, she really wasn't aware of what was really happening on her property......such as no breakfasts for us...altho staff had been informed.......we would have done our own if someone would have left us the food......

The money for the 4th nights stay was eventually refunded before we let the island......after more emails were sent than should have been.....

As the owner of Tropical Breeze I was very disappointed that this reviewer did not enjoy their stay with us.. I strive to provide my guests with whatever they need to make their stay more enjoyable..as to this particular posters comments I would like to respond to some of the allegations set forth.. first and foremost while I am not on site all the time, I am confident in my employees abilities during my absense..my caretaker Bobby is 58 yrs old and while he has a head full of grey hair, it does make him so ancient that you cannot ask him to carry your bags as indicated by this post..I am fully confident is saying that he is in better physical shape than I am at 45 yrs of age..secondly, unfortunately I had no control over the fact that the electrical socket in the room malfunctioned..I was made aware of it the day after it happened and had someone over right away to fix it..it was in fact fixed that afternoon.. as to the comment of having no lounge chairs on the pool deck I was in the process of having several loungers made for the deck and those have since been added for my guests enjoyment... With the exceptionally reasonable rates that I offer (50.00 U.S per night)in conjunction with our policy of being environmentally friendly I donot offer daily sheet changes..we change them every fourth night, which this guest was not there for the fourth night. In addition to this this particular guest requested an additonal fridge in the room which I do not usually offer but did comply with the request...she also wanted breakfast added to the room which I do not usually offer either..these requests were made with no addtional fee added to the room rate which I attempted to fulfull her desires. As to the allegation of the room not being clean, I personally know that my staff are very clean people and while I was not personally present at the time of this guests stay, I arrived soon afterward and was very satisfied with the overall condition of the cleanliness of my place.. this guest had their last nights stay refunded as well as their jacket returned to them which they had left in my vehicle, and we personally went to find them in their subsequent location to accomodate their request for a refund. as previously mentioned I strive to ensure that my guests are happy and if for some reason they are not I immediately take action to ensure I do what I can to make them happy.thank you (owner of Tropical Breeze)
