My wife and I went here for our honeymoon in early July '14 and enjoyed every minute of it. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms had the feel of something you would pay $300 - $400 a night for elsewhere. The food...wow! Be sure to eat at Le Pappion as much as possible. Each meal we had there was delicious and a work of art. Entertainment wise, there was something fun going on almost every night. Oshane the entertainment director is awesome and made sure everybody was having a great time. We had the unique experience of meeting Maji. If you stay here, you will see him (he'll be in the main square selling jewelry). Be sure to go talk to him as he is one of the most interesting people you will come across. Or better yet, attend one of his yoga classes on the pier...great experience! Finally, the thing that stood out above all else was the service. There was so many people that took great care of us that we could never name them all but Shanniel, Nevardo, Davion, Q, Oral, Natalia, and Damion were all so nice and so hospitable. We highly recommend checking out Sandal RP is you want a nice, restful trip, especially with having the option of eating & playing next door at the Sandals Grand Riviera (which BTW is about a 30 second walk down the beach or a short shuttle ride over).

Room Tip: Almost all the rooms have beachfront views so you can't go wrong with anyone of them!

Just returned from a glorious week at Sandals Royal Plantation. This is an all butler Sandals property - which means, no matter what room you reserve, you have a butler or in our case 2 butlers at your beck and call. This is a small (74 rooms) exlcusive Sandals. I have been to almost all the Sandals and this one is outstanding. The staff is among the kindest and most attentive, I have ever encountered. They cannot do enough for you. The rooms are all suites and large - some have full balconies, but most have a French Balcony. There are 2 beaches, the East and the West - one day we had the beach all to ourselves, most of the guests were on an excursion. The watersports team was great, especailly Germaine, he took me sailing on the hobie cat everyday and was happy to do so. While you are relaxing on the beach there are staff members walking the beach to bring you drinks, lunch, anything you may need.
There is 24 hour room service, you can have breakfast in your suite everyday if that is what you enjoy. The rooms are very spacious and the closet is one I wish I had at home - HUGE with enough hangars and shelf space for any wardrobe.

There are 4 restaurants and everyone is a winner. There is the Pub where you can enjoy a pub menu at certain times of the day when the other restaurants are not serving, we had a rib eye steak in the pub and it was delish. The Grill which is on the beach has some of the best Coconut shrimp we ever had (Hungry yet?) The Terrace is open for breakfast and dinner and is a home run for either menu. And then there is La Pappilion, the French restaurant, - this is a 5* dining establishment, Chef Gian loves to cooks and it shows..... Do not miss this restaurant if find your self lucky enough to be at the Royal Plantation.
There is some form of entertainment every night - the big party is Jamaican night - it is chock full of Jamaican favorite dishes, dancing and a show with something to please everyone. It is usually on Friday nights - but check the Daily Breeze, the flyer listing the days activities for the week you are there.

Now a few thank yous- Kenroy and Neil, our butlers, were just great - there was no request, they could not handle, my I Phone was not charging and they found a charger for me to use. Dinner reservations were all taken care of. We spent an afternoon at the Red Lane spa only to return to our tub filled with bubbles and flowers floating in and around the bathtub. - just beautiful.
Thanks Fellows - we felt so pampered.

Natalia - thank you for being so sweet and attentive and for joining us for dinner one night. You are truly an asset to the Royal Plantation.

Marco - Food and Beverage Manager - thank you for a gastronomic experience, it was our pleasure to meet you and your greeting us every evening and asking how we enjoyed the food, was an extra added wonderful touch!!!

Kelly Ann S and Caroline C - thank you for your hospitality - we loved the Dinner for returning Sandals guests, what a lovely way to thank guests for returning time after time. You gals were so fun and we enjoyed every minute we spent with you.

To all the bartenders, thanks for the fun evenings in the pub......
We had a blast - can't wait to return - YEAH MON.

Room Tip: Remember - if you want a walkout balcony - make sure you booka room that has that - most rooms at th...

Absolutely loved this place, so much we booked it again while we were there. My husband and I went for some relaxation and a little golf with my sister-in-law and her husband in mid July. Traveling there was fantastic, the airport at Montego Bay was easy to get in and out of and the traveling to the resort from the airport and back were effortless thanks to amazing drivers.

The size is small and as everyone says if you are a party animal, go someplace else but if you want to be pampered, get some peace and quiet and have an opportunity to go have some fun then this is your place. I think everyone here that gives this place excellent reviews touches all the great assets of this place ... wonderful grounds, clean, excellent staff, AMAZING food, beautiful rooms with amazing views, great beach, etc. So I won't go on about all that.

For us the topper of the trip is the amazing people. Truly spectacular. Here are some to mention for they went out of their way to make our trip really wonderful:
1. Shanneil - my personal favorite. First day, actually the first few hours we were there he ran off site to get us the "famous" Juicy Patty's that we were hearing from. Everyday he was friendly, accommodating and just a joy to have around us. Always remembered what we liked and wanted.
2. Damion - the waiter at the Wobbly Peacock. Always smiling and gave us a background on his culture and food.
3. Sheldon / Richard - our butlers. Planned a special lunch of Oxtails for us when it wasn't available during Jamaican night. Very friendly and helpful for whatever your needs.
4. Dowarge - amazing, professional waiter at the French restaurant (which you should eat at more than once for sure)
5. Oshane - entertainer extraordinaire! He keeps his energy up even when dealing with very few people. He got me an original recipe for Jerk Sauce .... amazing.
6. Q - the waitress in the Wobbly Peacock. Soooo sweet.
7. Orlando - waiter in the french restaurant, again amazingly professional and a joy to talk to.
8. Clieon and Adrian - beach butlers ... make the day at the beach even more wonderful.
9. Dacia - booking agent on staff ... she walks around the property just to chat and enjoy everyone, not just to sell. Very professional and helpful.
10. Gifford - Our golf caddie .... very patient and helpful. It was like getting a private lesson for every stroke!

Talking with these people was truly enjoyable. The staff truly looks like they enjoy what they do and the people they meet. Besides all the amazing other amenities the people topped it for us. (and the food of course!)

I highly recommend this place, like I said it was truly the most relaxed I've been in sooooo long.

Room Tip: west wing seemed the best and upper floor .... third floor. Our room was 352 and it had a great vie...

After one or more trips per year for the last ten years including our wedding and honeymoon, my husband and I have fallen in love with Jamaica, and the island is our first choice vacation destination. While we have enjoyed stays at many all-inclusive resorts here, our tastes have changed as we are getting older. The big groups/wedding parties, drunken swim-up bars/catamaran excursions, blaring music and buffet meals served in massive dining halls are too distracting from the together-time we seek. Our time away is very precious considering our busy jobs and the three young children we have back at home. Therefore, over our past few Jamaican trips, we have been in search for a resort that more fully fits our developing needs.

We are thrilled beyond words that our first stay at Sandals Royal Plantation in late July 2014 truly exceeded our expectations and that we have found our new Jamaican home. We have never taken the time to write a review before, but TripAdvisor was so instrumental in helping us find SRP. We found it to be ditto and even better than all the good things stated in previous reviews.

Everything at SRP is exquisite, but number one is service. Yes, everyone comments on this, but you don't know until you go how good it really is. It will blow you away. Jamaica is known for their beautiful people and warm hospitality, but at SRP they make you feel special in a way that we have never experienced before. Thanks to the butler service provided by Richard and Sheldon, we never felt like just a room number, but we were completely at ease knowing they were on call for us via our butler cell phone to answer any question or provide any assistance no matter how big or small. On our first day, they took care of all our dining and activity reservations and worked out any issues on our behalf so we did not have to waste a second of our time in frustration. They escorted us to all our meals and would check on us in person to make sure all our needs were met. The night that we dined at the Sandals Grande Riviera next door with other non-butler guests, we realized how lucky we were to be receiving the treatment and quality we had grown accustomed to at SRP. Now that we are back at home we are going through major withdrawals.

The butlers are your first "go to" people and our most personal connection to the property, yet every staff member that we met treated us with equal regard. Looking back we should have been taking better notes of everyone's name because they are all so deserving of recognition for the positive impact they made on our vacation. The ones that we can recall are just a small sample of the quality team you will find at SRP. We conversed with Managers Louis Grant almost daily about our satisfaction. Food and Beverage Manager Marko and Head Chef Peter were very visible overseeing the wonderful meals and service. The dining staff including Natalia, Damian, Lisa, Taniqua, Nesta, Ornella, Yonque, Orlando, Omar, Darin the omelette chef, Romario our candlelight dinner server, and many others helped to make each dining experience perfection.

We enjoyed many nights watching the show time entertainment outside the Terrace Restaurant and the late night entertainment inside the Wobbly Peacock bar. The house band, Rush, was very entertaining, and we enjoyed the musical talent of its members Peter, Fox, Llyod, and Bones. Featured performers were alternated throughout the week, and we especially enjoyed the Mento Band, the reggae singers Rojjah Mendez and Chalky, and the Alysia and Kirkland vocalist/pianist duet. John provided fun yet classy piano sing-a-longs until late hours in the Wobbly Peacock, while bartenders Andre and Junior made sure our drinks never ran dry. All was hosted by activity directors Oshane and Jason whose charming personalities and dancing were infectious.

Our days were mainly spent taking in the beauty of the classic plantation property, lush gardens, and turquoise waters found at SRP. We would alternate between the pool and the East Beach (the designated smoking beach although few people took the opportunity). We found it to have better shade and serenity than the more popular West Beach. Many days it was as if we had the entire beach to ourself. The pool was very much the same. It was actually a plus for us that the pool was smaller without a swim-up bar as it was great for a refreshing dip without attracting any rowdy behavior. Jermaine and the East Beach staff and Beach Butlers took great care of us every day. The views were breathtaking, and at every turn you encountered a new picture perfect sight.

An major benefit for this property was that you could eat every meal a la carte if you so desired, although small buffet options were available. This made dining a graceful, high quality, and customized experience in contrast to the massive buffets more associated with all-inclusive resort restaurants. While Le Papillon, the fine dining French restaurant, was a shining star, all restaurants were of excellent quality. It was not like you had one special meal at the"good" restaurant while the others were mediocre as we found to be the case at other properties. A special treat was that you could order lobster without an extra charge for every lunch and dinner (while in season) verses being offered such luxury only on the designated "lobster night." We enjoyed the lobster BLT, surf and turf, and the lobster entree at Papillon along with other great seafood options such as the coconut shrimp, snapper and salmon. The filet of beef was very good as well. Full hot breakfast was available for in room dining where at other resorts only continental options were available if any. Cutting the quality of the menu selections to conserve costs and serve the masses was definitely not the practice here.

Our room was incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed having the French balcony in our third floor room as it provided a great floor to ceiling view while allowing us to enjoy the air conditioning. Our house keeper Nedelia did an excellent job making it look just as beautiful throughout our stay as when we first checked in. Another remarkable detail is that we didn't receive a single bug bite during our stay. This is unheard of for us in a tropical location. We brought a bottle of bug spray expecting to use it multiple times a day, but I don't think we even opened the bottle!

In conclusion, the fine attention to details at this resort combined with the opportunity for true peace, romance, and enjoying the awe-aspiring beauty of Jamaica are what made us want to call SRP our resort of choice for years to come. We want to tell everyone at SRP to keep doing what you are doing because you do it so well, and we can't wait to come back and do it all again!

We just returned from our 2nd stay at Sandals Royal Plantation. We went a year ago for our honeymoon and returned for our 1 year anniversary. We absolutely LOVE royal plantation. The list why is so long that I would be here for hours typing away, so I will tell you some of our highlights.

1) Though small in size, its so charming and peaceful that it doesn't matter. We love how it is easy to access everything. We can just get lost in ourselves and not worry about trying to find our way around the resort.

2) The butlers- Sheldon and Richard! Need I say more. They are hands down the greatest people in Jamaica. They go ABOVE and beyond to meet our needs. Everyday around 11 they brought me a basket of chocolate croissants by the pool or beach without even asking. They are sweet,, friendly, and will do anything you need them to in order to make your stay the greatest. If you want an amazing, carefree vacation request Sheldon and Richard.

3) Food- We love the food. It's better than any other all inclusive we have been too. They offer a wide variety and will accommodate our needs. I actually get tired of having "fancy" food all the time and request peanut butter and jelly sandwiches sometimes for a snack. No request is to small or big for the chefs! They are fabulous.

4)Drinks- They make great drinks, and serve them to you constantly. We love the Bob Marley, pina coladas, and my new favorite the "O'DEAN special." I have to give a shoutout to my favorite bartender O'Dean. He is not full time(HIRE HIM HE'S GREAT), but every time he came to work at the resort I would get him to make his special drink. Finally after both Sheldon and Richard tried without full success to duplicate his drink he gave them the recipe so I could enjoy it even when he wasn't there. He is wonderful!!

5) Staff- The people working at Royal plantation are just the greatest. From the front desk clerks, to the returning guest staff, everyone has a smile and such sweet words. They are truly their to make your day.

I just can't say enough about Royal Plantations except that you need to go and experience it yourself. This was my 3rd vacation this summer, but hands down the best. We didn't leave the resort any and were perfectly happy to stay there for 8 days straight. We were able to truly rest, relax and enjoy each other. We didn't have the worry of work or the need to sightsee as we were in our own little paradise at Royal Plantation.

Book your trip ASAP and you won't regret it!

Room Tip: We always book Royal Greathouse Oceanfront rooms and have been extremely happy.

Love this place! Very quiet, delicious food and impeccable service! We married there under the Gazebo and had a reception for about 26 people. The staff did a great job!

I loved the Peacocks everywhere- I think there were 14 on the property.

Restaurants had delicious, fresh food. Would totally recommend!!
