“No Hastle Jamaica”
Reviewed January 16, 2012

Although we have been taking almost yearly cruises to the Caribbean for 16 years this was our first time in Jamaica. This was a WONDERFUL experience - no one trying to sell you something - clean - professional guides. HIGHLY recommend!!!!

“Fun time”
Reviewed January 16, 2012

I liked Mystic Mountain.
The bob sled is really just a 1.5 minute rollercoaster through the rainforest.
If you are accustom to going on big rollercoaster’s this would be a breeze and maybe a little dull, but still cool.
They only allow you to go on the bobsled one time unless you pay $22.00 extra per person.
The zip line was fun. My wife and I enjoyed it. If it were just the two of us going on the zip line the whole event would take maybe 10 min. But with many people in your group it becomes funny and also takes a bit longer. The sky ride was beautiful. About 15 min. or less up the mountain.

“Best money spent the entire vacation!”
Reviewed September 19, 2011

We did the Sky Lift, which is a ski lift that takes you up through the rainforest. Then we took the Bobsled half way down the mountain & spent the afternoon in the infinity pool that overlooked the beach 1000 feet down. The waterslide was alot of fun! I believe it was $168 if you want to zipline, bobsled & skylift.

“Our time was limited, we are going back next year already, it was amazing!!”

This was my fifth time to Jamaica and first time to Mystic Mountain. All the visits were on a cruise line, Mystic Mountain has given me a reason to finally book a villa and stay a while in Jamica. Thank you

“Great Experience close to Ocho Rios”
Reviewed October 10, 2010

We visited Mystic Mountain through jaital tours and rode the chairlift (mandatory), the bobsled, and zipline. A driver picked us up at our hotel and took us directly to the place. We paid a small deposit online when booking then paid our driver, Alphonso, in cash upon pickup. He paid for our all-inclusive wristbands for us and told us to spend as much time as we liked. We arranged to meet him back at the entrance in about 4 hours.

The park is located directly off the road, but up the mountainside in the middle of a jungle. Once you got on the quad chairlift, you have a peaceful, quiet ride up to the summit and the park itself. You get your photo taken on the way up and photos are available for $12 each. The chair ride up gives you a great view looking down on Ocho Rios and Turtle Bay. Really cool to be riding above the treetops.
At the top there is a nice "museum"/entry hall filled with items and displays from Jamaica's athletic and cultural history. The bobsled team takes center stage, but there's also neat pirate historical accountings as well.

You may ride the two at any time you wish, but your basic admission only includes one ride each. Additional rides are available for a charge. We went to the right and hit the zipline first. You are fitted with all the necessary harnesses and a helmet by a guide and given a brief instruction. It's very easy-not much to do on our part but jump off when they tell us to. We walked down a trail to the first tower and proceeded to ride 5 sections with one being a vertical drop. 2 guides accompany you-one to stop you and one to get you going. Very cool experience through the canopy with the vertical drop as something different. Again, they take your photos which are available for $12 each.
Next, we went to the bobsled cars. Think personal roller coaster meets bobsled track. You control the speed, but I'd recommend laying off the brake for the whole trip as the car swerves through on rails so is plenty safe. Very fun but went so fast it felt shorter than the couple of minutes. Photos taken again.
After our rides were used up, we stayed at the center on top where there is also a really nice restaurant and bar, a good sized gift shop with bobsled stuff as well as some different crafty things, a small infinity pool with a wicked waterslide into it. We had lunch and a couple of Red Stripes overlooking Ocho. Good food on a mountaintop setting. Then hit the slide and pool. They do not have towels so I'd recommend bringing one from wherever you are staying as they do have lockers. We then rode the chairlift back down to the entrance to our ride back to our hotel as planned.

This isn't a cheap day but was definitely worth the money. I'd recommend scheduling when there is NOT a cruise ship in port (as we did) because it's much less crowded. We didn't have to wait in line for anything and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. You can check the cruise-ship schedule for Ocho Rios online. Our waiter told us on cruise-ship days there can be 200 people going through up there. I'll bet we saw 20.
