We just got back from a beautiful nine days stay at Couples Tower Isle. We have been there before so we know it is a good place to be. however there are a few things that could have ruined our stay( if we would alow it):
-BRING BACK THE ITALIAN :-( . WE MISS IT ALOT!!!!!!!!
-The reception ladies are unfriendly and need some additional customer service training.

We appreciated the some of the staff there very much. Some would have to be:
BYRON[THE FAMOUS]-Reception-he is always cheerful. A WONDERFUL AMBASSADOR FOR THE RESORT.
RICARDO-FRONT DESK MANAGER- He handled our concerns tactfully asisted us after one female customer service agent made us mad. I can remember him saying, 'Let us work together for a solution' -VERY PROFESSIONAL
KIRK-Bellhop-always helpful and ensuring that we were having a good time.

THANK YOU COUPLES TOWER ISLE

The resort is simply beautiful , even though the beach is quite small... forget the long walk on the beach, but bring your book and enjoy some reading under a palm tree or the volleyball under the sun!
The staff is polite, friendly and efficient in every way !
The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and I just LOVED the evening visit of the maid, to "undo" your bed and organise the blankets and pillows before you go to bed!! :)
The activities on site are varied and well organised, as well as the outings.
The food... D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S !!! The biggest problem is to make a choice !! The buffet is made of international and Jamaïcan dishes, and you can find high-class fare in the three other restaurants. The food is fresh, and you can have fruits/veggies and healthy food all the time.
Interesting evening activities, like movie under the stars, beach party, music shows, dancing, singing...
Perfect place to relax... perfect place to have fun...

My husband & I visited Couples Tower Isle from Feb. 20-27. We booked through American Express travel, and wanted Couples San Souci, but they were sold out, so decided to book CTI without much prior research. We weren’t disappointed.

Arrival: We traveled on AirTran. The flight down was on time. Immigration was crowded, but efficient and in about 30 minutes we were at the Couples Lounge. Hardly a chance for a drink and visit to the restroom and we were whisked to the bus and on our way. It took about 2 hrs. The driver was informative and the drive was eye-opening with marked contrast between luxury resorts and slums. Check in was easy and we were greeted with cool towels and champagne.

Room: We were in 2201, a Premier Oceanview room. We were happy with our view of Tower Isle, the ocean and main pool. Everything was so convenient. We thought we’d miss the mini bar, but didn’t at all. We were so close to the buffet and patio bar. The bed was comfortable, and maid service was good except for our last day when we were skipped. A call to the front desk brought the maid to our room in minutes and she quickly took care of things. If you like to turn in early this might not be the best location as you can hear the band until around 11 or 12. Some folks have complained about noise in the hallway, but we really didn’t have a problem even though we were right by the stairwell.

Food & Drink: We’ve been to a number of AI resorts, and this was by far the best food we’ve had. The buffet didn’t have the largest assortment of food, but everything was fresh, served at proper temperature, and tasty. Plenty of salads, veggies, meats, fish, and desserts to chose from. We ate at the Bayside, Eight Rivers and Verandah and were impressed with all three. We found the food comparable to a pricey restaurant. Drinks were excellent with premium liquor. Most nights there was a martini bar on the rooftop patio above the Patio Restaurant. We only visited the Piano Bar once. It was cold and smelled moldy. The Saturday night poolside buffet had a huge assortment of foods. The beach buffet was excellent as well. We were impressed with the work that goes into setting up.

Service: We had great service and did not tip, nor did we feel any pressure to do so. On night we had a problem getting a drink at the Patio Bar. They were short staffed and things were a little disorganized. And the issue with the room not made up the one day. Otherwise service was great. We had no problems with drink service on the beach and loved the “treats” that were brought around sometimes. Staff was friendly and courteous and very hard working.

Beach & Activities: The beach was the biggest disappointment for me. This beach was short and narrow with no palapas. There are some palm trees that provide a little shade, but I got way more sun than I like and missed long walks on the beach. We didn’t participate in many activities other than the Glass Bottom Boat tour, which was interesting. Been to Dunn’s River once and did not care to go again! We did not visit Tower Isle. If you go, beware that people on the beach can see you. We saw some interesting PDA’s and there seemed to be way too much photography going on for me to feel safe. There was a storm near the end of our stay and some of the beach eroded away. No one could to to the island, so that made the beach pretty crowded. The pool bar was nice, but wasn’t very lively at happy hour time.

Spa: The spa is lovely and I enjoyed the hot tub & pool. I had a one hour Swedish Massage and it was a total waste of $110 plus tip. It was basically an application of thick oil. No pressure and way too much flittering around from one place to another to make you feel relaxed.

Departure: Our flight was scheduled at 1:10, but we were picked up at 8:30. The ride back to the airport was shorter, about 1.5 hrs. The driver seemed hung over and not very talkative. We had a long wait at the airport. Our flight was a little late getting in. I found it interesting that as we were boarding the plane, they searched all hand luggage, even though we had already gone through security. We ended up sitting 1.5 hours on the plane due to a paperwork issue. Apparently the printer was broken and they weren’t able to print the passenger list. As a result, we missed our flight from Atlanta to Pittsburgh and ended up spending the night in Atlanta at a bad hotel, which kind of took away from the vacation glow. Customs & immigration in Atlanta was a zoo. Plan on lots of time between flights if you have to clear customs there.

Summary: We enjoyed our trip to CTI. Couples does an excellent job, but if we go back to Jamaica, I would try one of the other resorts with a larger beach.

We just got back a week ago from Couples Tower Isle and we can't stop raving about the place to our friends. We've been to other all-inclusive resorts, but Couples tops the charts. Everything, from the service to the food/drinks to the entertainment was top-notch. There were absolutely no worries.

Often, even on vacation, I tend to worry about silly things like: Will there be enough beach chairs - should we go out early and save some? Do we have to rush to make reservations at the nice restaurants? Will I have to wait in line forever just to get a drink? Will the servers be unfriendly/over-friendly? Will the turnover service try to come into our room while we're in there? As it turns out, none of these were concerns. There were ALWAYS plenty of everything to go around. Beach chairs / loungers / activities were plentiful. The servers were spectacular. The room always looked wonderful every time we stepped inside. Everything was JUST RIGHT.

One thing that attracted us to this particular resort was all the activities that were included for free. Unfortunately, the red flag was out for 2 of the days we were there so we weren't able to go sailing or windsurfing like we wanted, but it wasn't a problem at all. I would say the highlight of my experience was going to Dunn's River Falls. That was great. Definitely recommend it (if you are physically able). But don't forget to bring water shoes (they don't allow flip flops), or you'll end up paying for used (and nasty) ones there.

Another highlight was the food. I'm usually weary about food at all-inclusives, but this place beat my expectations by far. I loved all the restaurants and I loved that there were so many options. One of my favorite places to go poolside was the Veggie Bar. Their falafel & sweet potato chips are to die for. I also really loved Eight Rivers. And one of the most convenient things was that there was fountain soda/water open at all times by the pool/beach that we could get to easily if we didn't want to go to the bar or wait for a server.

We stayed in an Ocean Deluxe room, and we were so happy about that. There's something spectacular about waking up each morning and looking out the glass doors to see nothing but the beautiful blue-green ocean ahead of you.

One warning though. The private island is not very far away. In fact, when we were playing with our dinky digital camera at night, we realized that the zoom button would have easily enhanced the image of anyone who was nude on the private island from the main resort. So we stayed away from that (also because we kept seeing a man who would stare at the island through binoculars from the pool). But moving on...

We're very active people so we took full advantage of the fitness center there. The fitness center was very clean and utilitarian. We also played tons of volleyball and met great people in the process. Dancing under the stars at night was also really fun. There really was nothing that wasn't fun and enjoyable and classy about the whole stay.

I think we'll definitely be going back to Couples sometime soon!

We just returned from the most wonderful vacation at Couples Tower Isle!! My wife and I have traveled all-inclusive before, and we researched a lot of resorts looking for luxury and fun. Our expectations were very high, and CTI exceeded them from the very first moments! The food was incredible, the resort was beautiful, and the staff is exceedingly well trained to serve. There are activities going on any time you like, and many beautiful places to relax in the sun with friends and a cold beverage. We were pampered when we wanted, left alone when we wanted, and had mad fun when we wanted!

The resort contracts some cool off-resort tours for guests. We went on the horseback riding and plantation tour, Dunn’s river falls, and the catamaran cruise. All are well-organized and fun, and easy to schedule.

This is not a mega-resort; rather it feels spacious and luxurious. They know from decades of experience how to make sure everything you want is right there. The place is laid out great, and the beach is central to everything from water sports to restaurants. Water sports are a big deal here, and the immediate area is perfect. There are several great snorkeling sites nearby, plenty of room for water-skiing, kayaking, sailing, and windsurfing. We did not scuba this trip, but I was told it was great. The snorkeling was amazing with 50-80 ft visibility with the sun high. There is a nice spa with mineral hot-tubs and a plunge pool available 24 hours, and small but beautiful garden with a large parrot cage in the middle.

One thing we particularly liked about Couples is that they enforce the ‘no-tipping’ rule. When booking an all-inclusive, the literature always says ‘food, drinks, and tips included’. But if the resort allow guests to tip, such as at Grand Sirenis, it creates an unfair environment. Tips influence service - that is their point. At Couples I did not see anyone tipping, and my understanding is staff would be docked/time-off for accepting tips. This creates an even environment where all guests are treated great! If you are off the resort, you are in tourist-land and tips are normal. For example, on the Dunn’s River Falls trip we were not asked or expected to pay for the Tour. But, like Disney Land, all attractions end in a gift-shop/market. And you are on your own at the market. Barter, and never take the first price! Or better yet, leave your money at the resort. You can buy those same t-shirts and souvenirs in a less-pressured environment.

The rooms are nice; tiled in the tropical style, flat screen TV, Ipod dock, good AC, and great house keeping. The view from our room was phenomenal, and we would recommend you specify an ocean view room. We were very lucky, because we rolled the dice and went with the Secret Rendezvous. We did get the least expensive of the Couple’s properties, but not the least expensive room! We had a beautiful ocean view in the 5000 bock, and in the future we would specify at least that category of room. Housekeeping is great, and enjoying continental breakfast on your own balcony is wonderful. The rest of the day, if you are in your room, you are missing out on something. Water sports go on all day. Tours and excursions are always leaving from the lobby. The AN island is great, if you like that. There’s trivia, bingo, cricket, volley ball, swim-up bars, shopping trips, a veggie bar, a coffee bar, and a beach that looks straight off of a post-card!! Evenings are filled with gourmet food, and special events like the beach party, Monday cocktail party, Friday lobster night, and an international buffet on Saturday night. There is great on-stage entertainment; singers, dancers, steel-drum bands, and a fire-breathing limbo master. The piano bar has Karaoke and sing-alongs, and all pools (including the spa) are open 24 hours. I really thought not having a fridge would be a problem, but I learned to get by on Champagne and Red Stripe :-)

It is difficult to explain in this space how wonderful Couples Tower Isle is. I could go on and on about food, drinks, staff, parties, night snorkeling, the incredible view, entertainment, and the friendly staff that really wants you to have a good time. Any criticism of this place is very nit-picky, but if you do find something not right, they will try to fix it. Be very wary of the bad reviews of this place; I frankly don’t think those reviewers stayed at CTI, and if they did, they weren’t going to be happy anywhere. This couple can’t wait to return!!
