“Cheaper shopping can be found elsewhere”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Island Village is okay for visitors that do not have a lot of time to find what they desire, however for those visiting Ochi that are staying overnight I would recommend shopping locally to find the same items at a better value.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

As part of our recent vacation to Ocho Rios we decieded to do a little shopping. We checked the internet for best places and Island Village was recommended. Upon arrival we were surprised to learn from a local that half of the stores there have closed down for good and because it was not "cruise day" only a few stores would be open. We walked though the entire complex and found approx. half dozen stores open and most of them had the same goods for sale. We left disappointed and then then walked to the another mall located about 3 minutes from Island Village ( Taj Mahal ), this place was excellent with plenty of stores and choices and people who were willing to bargin. We came away with some great deals.

“Just another touristy shopping place...”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

Very clean and had several shops with neat items. We may have ventured down a different night and gone to a movie, but didn't make it down to the Island Villages until our last day. We were there early and on a day with no cruise ship in port nearby. Very quiet and some of the shops were closed. Decent selection on shirts and do-dads to take home, but price shop and bargain to get the best deals.

“Great shopping!”

I love the Devon House Ice cream shop there! Some shops will bargain with you but most are set in stone with their prices.

“Island Village”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

We visited Island Village a few times during our stay in Ocho Rios to stroll about the shops. Some of the shops there are great, with the Puma store having some great stock, a great sunglasses shop, some nice little shops with lovely souvenirs. However, there is a coffee shop there that i would recommend not even going near. No prices are displayed, and we though nothing of this, ordered two coffees and had to pay over $12 us dollers for two coffees when we were finished! Margaretaville is also there, and while it might be fun while you are in there, if you are in accommodation anywhere near the place, dont expect to be able to sleep for the entirity of your holiday - noise pollution isnt even considered and you can make out the songs word for word..... the worst is the karaoke nights!
