Before visiting Jamaica this month, I emailed two tour companies for pricing on transfers from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios and back--encompassing 3 separate trips. Best Jamaica responded promptly and quoted the lowest price--so I booked them and chose to pay in advance to save time at the airport. It was a great choice. Stevert, the owner of the company, is an extremely likable, reliable, highly intelligent gentleman who was an absolute pleasure to get to know. Having been to Jamaica ten times over almost 30 years, I consider myself to be relatively well-informed about the country. But Stevert educated me on many aspects of Jamaican life and world history that I had not previously known and he did so with an energy and enthusiasm that was inspiring. In fact, I would hazard a guess that Stevert knows more about world affairs than the vast majority of people from "developed" countries including the USA. He has lived in Europe in the past which gives him a unique perspective not often found among locals.
Jamaica is a beautiful country comprised of friendly people who take pride in their history and culture. Stevert epitomizes Jamaican warmth--but also offers a more sophisticated world view that is unusual to find anywhere. I recommend him highly and wish him much success in his business.
