My husband and I try to escape to Sans Souci 2x a year, we love it there that much. The people, the au natural beach and the food are a few of the reasons we keep going back, over 20 times we've been there. Rooms are dated but clean, entertainment needs an update-it's getting a bit stale, other than that, a great place to vacation. Main beach is small and au natural beach is bigger, keep that in mind because main beach gets pretty crowded.

Couples Sans Souci is a fabulous resort. Food is fabulous. I cannot think of one thing I ate while there that was not over the top delicious, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fruit was always fresh, cold items cold and warm items warm. The beach gala was over the top, there was so much available to try, you could not possibly do it.

The staff is always friendly, accommodating and willing to do their best to make your stay memorable. The dining staff was great, beach and swim up bars so fun. Always wanting to remember you, greet you with a smile.

The buildings do show some age and in many cases are not what you would see in the US. It is Jamaica, not the US. I have been in Europe, Hawaii, Central America and it is still my favorite for value, fun and my desire to return. Not to say I wont return to all of the above, but Couples resorts are special. I have stayed in the other "foot ware" resort and will not go again. Couples beats them hands down for quality and value.

Room Tip: Try the D,E blocks. I have been in both. I think the F and G blocks are also great for the view an...

My fiance and I honeymooned at San Souci in August. We had a wonderful time! There is definitely a mix of an older and younger crowd, to my surprise. The food is mediocre, but what you would expect at an all-inclusive. Definitely make reservations at Casanova - they had the best food out of all 3 restaurants (men- you cannot wear shorts! They will turn you away). Drinks were always flowing and the staff was SO incredibly nice.

The grounds were well-kept, although the rooms could have some updating done. We stayed in D block and had a great view of the beach and ocean. Our shower was HUGE and had windows that looked out onto the ocean- could fit 5 people. Some of tiles were falling off the walls, though and there were stains on the tile floor in the room.

Be prepared to walk up ALOT of stairs as the resort half sits on a cliff. D block sits on the cliff as well as E. If you want a gorgeous sunset, head to the nude beach (you can be clothed after 5 p.m., but if you want to go there during the day, they expect you to be fully nude).

The water sports are very convenient and right on the beach. Honeymooners -- you get a complimentary couples massage- make sure you take advantage of it! They massage you in little gazebos right over the ocean...amazing.

The location is a little less than 2 hours away, and the drivers there are pretty intense, so make sure you buckle up. The ride to the resort is very eye opening as there is much poverty. Lots to take in.

The Dunn's Falls waterfall package is included and highly recommended.

MONEY: You do not need to pay for anything at the resort unless you want a spa package, upgraded water activities, something at the gift shop, jewelry store, or to (discretely) tip the staff. Also, you DO NOT need to exchange US money to Jamaican money. They accept US dollars and if you don't use all your exchanged money (should you end up exchanging it), it will cost you more to buy it back. If you feel more comfortable exchanging, only do a small amount (maybe $100 US).

If you want a VERY RELAXING vacation (literally just beaching, drinking and eating), I would highly recommend. The bar closes @ 1 a.m. but other than that there is no real late-night nightlife. This is a place for relaxing! Highly recommend.

Room Tip: A+B block is right in front of the beach and close to Pallazinna and the beach bar. They are also ne...

My wife and I decided to celebrated our 25th anniversary in Jamaica. This was going to be our first time in Jamaica so we were looking for an all inclusive, adult only resort close to some popular excursions. After a lot research we choose Couples Sans Souci, in Ocho Rios and I 'm so happy we did. The lounge in the airport was very clean and they offer complimentary drinks while you wait for your ride to the resort. After a few drinks, about 20 minutes, our ride was ready. Our driver was very friendly and informative making the two hour drive fly by. The driver will ask if you need to make a bathroom stop. I suggest that if you do need to stop, and if you want to try some authentic Jerk Chicken, ask him to stop near a Jerk Centre. Once we arrived at the resort we were greeted with a cool wash cloth and a glass of Champaign from the very friendly staff. Our room was very clean and smelled good. The resort is spread out with a lot of stairs and hills, it is built in the cliffs, so if you have physical limitations I suggest getting a room in A or B block. There you will have access to two of the three restaurants, the main pool and the beach without having to climb a ton of stairs to get back to your room. If you can't get a room in A or B block don't worry, there a phones at the end of the buildings so you can call the lobby for a ride. If you don't have any physical limitations, get out and explore the property there are so many paths and hidden treasures all over. There is so much to do, we tried everything. Sign up for scuba, snorkeling, and waterskiing early because they fill up fast. The near by excursions include Dunn river falls, sip line through the canopy, bobsled ride and swimming with the dolphins. You can purchase tickets for these in the lobby. The food was outstanding in all the restaurant. Make your reservations for Casanovas at check-in, it fills up fast as well. Couples Sans Souci is an excellent choice if your looking at resorts in Jamaica. The staff was very friendly, the property was nice and clean, and the food was excellent. My wife and I are planning a return trip.

The best part about Couple Sans Souci is the beautiful landscaping. We really enjoying exploring all of the different pathways up and down the cliffs to see fruit trees, nut trees, birds, and geckos. I would highly suggest waking up early one morning to do the nature walk (offered in the activities schedule) - I got to see many varieties of trees, etc. that I had not noticed on my own. We loved to visit the pond and view all of the wildlife in that area - we even saw a mongoose which made my day.

The majority of the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We did have two negative experiences with rude servers (one at Palazzina and one at Bella Vista); which was surprising as everyone else was so wonderful. It put a damper on those two meals though unfortunately. We had an especially great connection with Derron from the water sports team who was always so friendly -- we had a really fun catamaran ride with him and then visited/chatted the rest of our trip.

We very much enjoyed our dinners at Casanova - the food was extremely delicious and always presented beautifully. Bella Vista and Palazzina did not measure up in our eyes. The food was okay, but Casanova spoiled us so much that there was really no comparison. We had lunch at the Beach Grill everyday and thoroughly enjoyed the food: jerk chicken, grilled cheese sandwiches, jerk and traditional burgers, onion rings, etc. Very delicious and there was also fresh soup, soft serve ice cream, and popcorn available.

We LOVED the drinks. The frozen bikini and seduction were our favourites - we miss them!

The only excursion we did was the Dunn's River Falls trip. It was lots of fun except for having to leave through the vendor village. We got stuck in a bit of a trap. A vendor gave us a gift, which made us feel obligated to purchase something and then wildly upped the price to cover the cost of both items. Do not fall for it! Just walk away. As polite Canadians, we really felt uncomfortable in the situation and ended up doing the purchase after a bit of bartering.

We enjoyed our time at the textile beach. We could always find a chair and liked having the beach bar so close. We had a few days with really clear water, where we enjoyed seeing the little fix and even a female urchin in the swim area. A few other days the water was a bit more murky, so we chose to wear water shoes (they were not necessary though). We went to the sunset beach only after clothes were required and saw some nice sunsets. The sand fleas really got us over there though. Bring some calamine or penatane cream.

The mineral pool was the perfect place to relax on our way up to our room in the afternoon. The sweet potato chips/dips and fruit smoothies from the food hut there were one of our favourite things.

Our first room (D block) we had a major ant problem in the bathroom and the safe did not work very well (only 3 numbers could be used). It was also a bit noisy being so close to the balloon bar/Casanova. We had housekeeping come to spray the ants, but unfortunately it was before bed and with the lack of ventilation we spent the night sleeping in very strong bug spray fumes. We know there was nothing else that could have been done, but it was not very pleasant. On our third day, we were able to move to a new room (G-6 - we had originally requested G block, but there were no rooms available in there upon checkin). The move was very easy - we left our bags outside the door and then picked up the new key from the front desk later in the day. Once we moved to the new room, we really felt like the honeymoon began. The room was larger, in much better condition, had a very large balcony and a beautiful view. We really enjoyed our time there and were so happy we were able to switch. It was also far more private.

Overall our honeymoon was romantic and nice. There are lots of high points of the resorts; but the rooms do need sprucing up and I think some of the room categories should be reshuffled because our first One Bedroom Ocean Suite did not even remotely compare to the second one that we were moved to.

Room Tip: G block as long as you don't mind the stairs -- well worth it for us though

Beautiful grounds! Great staff/service. All-inclusive- all the food you can eat and all the drinks you can drink, plus some activities. This was our second trip and we will return again! It is the most relaxing place ever. Multiple pools, aunatural beach, parties and events, etc.

Room Tip: Beachfront is the best. Returning customer perks.

All aspects of this resort are top shelf, from the service and Jamaican cuisine to the many included activities. Especially suited to couples with no kids who crave isolation and a boutique feel. Highly recommended!
