We went to the Blue Hole as part of a tour with Courtney Taylor tours. (Courtney was awesome, by the way - look him up here at Trip Advisor.) It took over an hour to travel from the Royal Caribbean dock to Ocho Rios and the last segment of the trip covered roads that were pretty much dirt alleys, but once we arrived at the Blue Hole we were amazed at the beauty of this place. The water is a light turquoise color, and is surprisingly deep; we learned just how deep when one of the guides took a running jump off a cliff and dropped 40 feet into the water. LOL

The guides play an important role at the Blue Hole as the steps are steep, slick and potentially treacherous. We thought all the guides were fantastic. They were friendly, helpful and patient, guiding each individual to as far in the falls as they wanted to go. We watched them help an older couple with limited mobility and they couldn't have been nicer to them. I've read ugly comments about the guides and I couldn't disagree more. No hounding for tips, no pressure to go farther than you wanted to go. They made it a lot safer than it potentially could have been. Devroe was our guide and he was just the nicest young man.

Devroe led us first to the top of the main waterfall. When we arrived we could see that other falls fed the main falls - these were beautiful and I'll include a couple long exposure photos of them here. After that we backtracked to the other side of the main pool; a smaller pool had a rope swing and some diving ledges. One guide leaped from a ledge. Another did the swing. A third climbed into the canopy of trees above the pond and dropped - these guys are nuts! But it looks like they have a blast. They helped a couple courageous visitors jump and swing as well.

Blue Hole - great place to visit in Jamaica. The stairs are fairly demanding, physically, so keep this in mind if you have any mobility issues. The location is remote so there is very little in the way of dining or drinking facilities around. But I thought this was a wonderful destination and something off the beaten path, something most other people don't see.

Cannot recommend this attraction enough! The tour guides were so friendly and proud to share the natural beauty of the pools and cascades. Bring a waterproof camera and the guides will take tons of pictures of you and your group as you're jumping off the cliffs. Blue Hole is way more authentic than Dunn's River Falls, although that was also fun. A must do if you're in the Ocho Rios area!

The most beautiful spot I ever seen! I would love to have a shack in the woods, directly above the Blue Hole! I'd be there every day! Hanging out with the Irie Pastry Guy, down the end of the dirt road! lol

This attraction was not advertised in our resort, but after reading the reviews online, we decided to give it a try. We took a private cab to get here (prices negotiable with cab drivers). Upon arrival, we had our personal tour guide assigned to us.

This attraction should not be missed by anyone who visits Ochos Rios. It consists of mutiple ropes which you swing into the fresh water, caves, jumps, and a walk down a waterfall (Yes thats right, you literally walk down the waterfall from the top which is optional).

We enjoyed every minute of it and our tour guide Nick helped us take photos with our underwater camera. Very inexpensive and great value for this attraction. Was not very busy when we were there which was nice and we enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended to all travellers!!!

Eerily beautiful water that disappears into the depths below your fins when you visit this place for a swim and a bit of snorkeling. Visited on a day with a bit too much liquid sunshine (rain) which really did not matter since we were going swimming anyway. Brought a few too many meat pies with us for lunch and ended up bartering with a hungry young vendor for some local gee gaws. He was perfectly happy with the trade but his mother probably wasn't later.

We came here by ourselves and it was pretty much deserted. We spent an hour or so languishing in the crystal clear water enjoying the serenity of this place and the calming effect of the light rain as it played across the surface of the cerulean blue water.
