Firstly we would like to say that this review is long overdue...we stayed at this gorgeous, romantic and truly outstanding hotel back in October 2013. On our return home family life just took over and hence the delay! We have a big family!!!!!

We choose Jamaica Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and my husband husbands 50th birthday....wow, what a special, special place, with special, special people. From the moment we arrived we experienced a level of service that immediately says we GENUINELY care about your time here. ALL of the staff, without exception were fantastic...a rare and wonderful thing these days. Particular thanks to Patrice, Georgia, Winston, Rupert and Carter as you all made our stay warm and relaxing.

We were upgraded to the Premier Veranda Suite right on the beach (a generous gesture, truly appreciated as I LOVE the sea), a lovely bottle of wine to welcome us and the everything else just kept getting better and better..food, service and the most WONDERFUL BEACH you can think of...private and serene - just beautiful. Like many other couples I'm sure, we wanted privacy and relaxation and we got all of that and more. Just heaven - this hotel has been looking after their guests like this for over 50 years and we sincerely hope they never change.

Other reviews are right in saying that if you want to party till the small hours don't go to Jamaica Inn - choose the large, commercial hotel up the road (so to speak) but if your serious about style and substance, this is the place!

I could go on and on, however, the only thing to say is that because this hotel is so truly elegant, classy and without doubt a wonderful place for TRUE relaxation and romance, we have already booked our return visit for this October!!

Can't' wait....see you soon Jamaica Inn

Jamaica Inn has the most beautiful secluded beach in Jamaica with its pearl white sand. There is no access from adjoining properties making it private for Jamaica Inn guests only. The water is calm and the temperature invigorating.

The staff are polite and amazingly attentive. Whether they were setting up our lounge chairs on the beach with towels or cutting a fresh coconut for a refreshing drink. Wonderful!

My husband and I could not have asked for a more relaxing and rejuvenating weekend away.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the beautiful beach so no matter what you have the best room in the house.

We stayed 9 nights and had a great time. One of the owners around to ensure high standards. Lovely beach with good facilities and plenty of shade! Great food and reasonably priced beverages. What was fascinating as a newcomer was how many people staying had been there before and knew each other and the staff very well. One couple we met had been there 12 times. We felt this meant they must be doing things right. All the staff are Jamaican something unusual in an hotel with international clientele. A great place to stay.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms lead directly to the beach but some (not ours) were reported to have noise from t...

Perfection in every way - where do I start? Would it be the welcoming rum punch delivered toute suite (to be continued every morning at 11:00!)? Would it be the spectacular views and intimate beach? Would it be the exceptional, warm and friendly staff? Maybe it would be the incredibly beautiful accommodations on every level - from charming beach front rooms with terraces to the beautifully decorated apartments with private pools and private stairways to the ocean (read stairway to heaven!). What is your pleasure? Beach lounging and the occasional dip into the most buoyant, perfectly warm water, or a game of croquet, or afternoon tea, or tropical outdoor evenings enjoying delicious dinners accompanied by Reggae (dancing anyone?) or charming traditional Jamaican music? Let me count the ways - truly a fabulous vacation destination - unrivaled in the Caribbean.

Room Tip: All the Cottages are truly fabulous! All the rooms are great too!

So we're not really resort people. We wanted somewhere quiet. We've never been to Jamaica before so we took a punt. Everything that people say on here is true. The Jamaica Inn is beautiful, colonial and elegant and the beach is amazing, particularly compared to ALL the others we've seen here. The sea is Crystal clear and the view from our balcony is awesome, and we were in the lowest grade room. Is was brilliantly comfortable and beautifully decorated. The service is amazing, too. It's friendly and polite and helpful. Everything you want. We wanted a peaceful little slice of paradise away from the baying hoards of All Inclusive water-slide-boozing-party-people, and that's what we got and we were super happy. In the interests of fairness I should mention some other stuff. basically, there's quite a lot of...distinguished people...with white hair. Or no hair. Also, everything's pretty expensive. Actually everything's very expensive but then we pretty much found that everything is expensive everywhere so...what can you do. Pay.
Look, this place is amazing if you want some classy quiet on a beautiful beach. If you want a naked booze-cruise, then maybe go to Sandals.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. We were in 29. Lovely. Great view.

Just had the most wonderful week at the Jamaica Inn - the experience was superlative in every way, quite exceeding my expectations.
Whilst there so thoroughly enjoying myself, I wondered whether my happiness would disappear without trace when I returned home. On the contrary, since coming home I'm noting a delicious inner peace and poise, as if I've been nourished in an important and unusually wholesome way, leaving me relaxed and ready to receive what life will bring, with a deeper trust in the essential rightness of things...
What a gift, I'm savoring it.
Hurrah for the 'Jamaica Inn effect', there is some kind of magic being woven there!!!

Returning to the Jamaica Inn is like returning home. The warmth of the staff with their sincere "welcome home' is priceless. Over the years, we have stayed at Jamaica Inn close to 20 times. The mere fact that we continue to return year after year speaks to the beauty of the property and the quality of the staff. Why such a favorite? The grounds, kept immaculate by Henry and his staff are a tropical splendor. The beach is one of the best in Jamaica, expansive, secluded and quiet. The rooms are pleasant, all having an adjoining private veranda, and each with a unique and breathtaking view, some of the garden, some of the beach, and some of the ocean(literally a foot away). This trip we were overlooking the garden/pool/beach - excellent. Breakfast, served at the pavilion is simply a "zen" experience. An endless cup of Blue Mountain coffee only makes it better. Cocktails on the balcony are a tradition and dinner under the stars a delight, the food excellent, the service warm yet professional. The competence of the dining room staff would be the envy any most any high end restaurant in the U.S. The overall ambiance of the property has been and continues to be one of quiet Jamaica charm. However, the most compelling reason we return to the Jamaica Inn year after year is the staff. Individually and collectively, they make you feel they really do care about you. We always look forward to a warm Jamaica welcome from many old friends as we arrive and equally warm wishes from both old and new friends to "soon come back" as we sadly depart. And we will soon be back!

Room Tip: Depends on the view you would like to have, all are excellent
