We just concluded our 5 day visit to Jamaica Inn, arriving as strangers but leaving as a part of the "family."

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we received and experienced amazing service, food, and an understated elegance.

Room:

We enjoyed a visit to Cottage 7, a two-story luxury room with an infinity swimming pool and steps to the ocean. It was truly an amazing moment to walk into the room and have your breath swept away seeing the blue expanse of the Caribbean Sea. The room was very private, having only a cottage on one side and the spa on the other. Needless to say, on a return visit, we will definitely stay in Cottage 7 again.

Beach:

Beautiful! Truly Beautiful! The water was warm, hardly any waves, and was crystal blue, affording you a view of the ocean floor. We spent each day sitting under an almond tree, drinking a "Jamaican Delight" and a "Red Stripe."

Food:

In a word, amazing. The breakfast menu is great, lunch as well. However, dining at night, under the stars while receiving excellent service made each meal spectacular. The menu rotates nightly, however, it always contains fresh fish (snapper and jack fish during our visit), while on Saturday night, grilled lobster tail. I was impressed!

Service:

I can spend hours upon hours raving about the service afforded to the visitors of Jamaica Inn. However, my words would not due the service any justice. Go to Jamaica Inn and experience the service yourself. A number of the employees became our friends while we visited, always searching us out to say "hello" or ask "if we had a great day." Again, impressed.

Thank you to Kamar, Johnson, Christopher, Teddy, Rupert, Delroy and countless others for making our 10th Anniversary Trip a great memory. Thank you to Kyle Mais for running an establishment of excellence. Looking forward to coming "home" again!

Room Tip: Each room has view of the ocean. Some rooms you can walk right off the verandah onto the beach. Th...

The Jamaica Inn is a tranquil, elegant resort, with a top-rate staff and spectacular rooms. It could not have been a lovelier experience. The food is excellent and the bar pours great drinks. We met interesting people but were able to be as quiet and private as we liked. Each time we saw the other resorts' over-crowded boats go by, we knew we made the right choice with Jamaica Inn.

I don't think I can say enough to really capture the amazing experience that is Jamaica Inn. My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon and it was truly magical. We stayed in Cottage 4 and from the moment we walked in the front door, we didn't want to leave this beautiful room. It was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in on so many levels. Waking up each morning to the turquoise sea crashing just below our veranda is something I will never forget.

The food at Jamaica Inn was great - but different than any food I had while in Jamaica because it is more of a mix of Jamaican and international cuisine. The breakfast spread every morning was unbelievable. We tried so many different items and still didn't make it through the extensive breakfast menu by the end of our stay. Lunch and dinner were wonderful, too. We loved every course of every single meal we had at Jamaica Inn. We are usually the type to venture off to other restaurants while on vacation but we never got tired of the menu here because it changed every evening. We had the private beach dinner during our stay. It was so much fun to be served down along the water's edge. I highly suggest doing this at least one night during your stay!

The service at Jamaica Inn is the best service I have ever experienced. Period. You will almost feel like royalty because the staff is just that attentive. We had the opportunity to meet the managers, as well as several owners, during our stay. They truly make you feel like your experience and opinion matters to them.

The grounds at Jamaica Inn are incredibly beautiful. They are constantly being maintained. There are flowers everywhere that end up in gorgeous fresh arrangements in your room each day. The beach is larger than I expected. It is spread out so you never feel crowded. We had a chance to use the sailboat, kayak, and paddle board during our stay. The waters around the hotel are calm enough that even a beginner would enjoy any of these activities!

The spa at Jamaica Inn was fantastic. I had two massages, a facial, and a pedicure during my stay. Top-notch spa service in a setting that you won't believe until you see it. There is nothing quite like the experience of having a massage in a hut over the water at sunset.

I could go on and on about Jamaica Inn. It was the best vacation ever and I can't wait to go back. We are already planning our next trip. If you are considering Jamaica Inn, Ocho Rios, or even traveling to Jamaica in general - go to Jamaica Inn. It is private, romantic, luxurious, and just perfect. You won't ever want to leave.

Room Tip: Go for a cottage if you can afford to splurge! Cottage 4 was private and perfect for honeymooners.

A wonderful experience at a premium price. We stayed steps from the ocean, often had meals served on our verandah, and were treated like royalty by well trained staff who seemed to enjoy their work rather than working for gratuities. The food was first class, the rooms were spotless, and the environment was quiet and encouraging of reflectiveness and deep thought. It is, however, not a place for a party. Rather, this is a place for experiencing quiet and a peaceful communication with nature.

Room Tip: Verandas close to the beach are heavenly.

Mid way through our vacation and could not be happier. The reviews are spot on. The Jamaica Inn is an awesome place to chill, relax, and reconnect. The property is historic and surely not brand new - but that is part of its charm. We are staying in a premier verandah overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Simply hard to describe the feeling of sitting on your verandah listening to the sound of the waves lapping right up to your room. Priceless. The people are so friendly and accommodating. The food is absolutely amazing and so are the drinks. (strongly recommend the AI plan). The property owner, manager, and staff all go out of their way to make sure that all is good. The beach is special. So private and peaceful. Being able to snorkel, long-board and kayak right off the beach was cool. So many fish along the side of the property-very special. The band that played each evening was great. Low key but just what we were looking for after a long day on he beach.

If you are looking for a casual resort with 5-star service, this is it! We can't wait to come back "home."

I had read about this place for years and wanted to go, but it is a bit pricy. I finally went for my birthday and now know, you get what you pay for. We used the providers transportation (a bus) to arrive.. and boy were we embarassed. The bus could not pull up the driveway and we made a spectacle. This is not the type of place you arrive in a bus. We took the hotels limo back (we paid and it was worth it... this place is about the experience). You walk in to a small open air lobby (reception) with a welcome drink and the nicest people you will ever meet. I believe this hotel just changed owners, we went with the old owners so I am not sure how it will change. We got a ground floor room (suite) with a walk out patio directly to the beach. They left and changed daily a foot bowl to rinse your feet. The room and service is out of the world. We did the beach and hammoks every day. I dont even think we ever visited the pool. Every day they have tea time at 4pm with snacks and drinks. This is NOT an all inclusive and the food and drinks are very expensive. We ate at the restaurant one night but the rest we went to local places. Ask about the Italian restaurant. I dont remember the name but the food was amazing (it is Italian with Jamaican flare), beautiful view and all of the celebrities visit. It is very inexpensive. We used the spa and that was wonderful. It is truly spa service, not typical for a beach hotel. You really feel like you are a celebrity when you visit this hotel. It is just amazing. Perfect for couples celebrating something special, definitely a honeymoon you would not forget. Save your money, skip the all inclusive sandals, etc. for a year or two and splurge on this hotel. It is a totally different Jamaica. Check out also all of the history here, I believe it is said Ian Flemming visited and did his writing here, and even the site for Where Stella Got Her Groove Back.

Room Tip: Get a room on the spa side and you must do beachfront walkout. I dont see the point otherwise.

Thank you for your wonderful review. It was an absolute pleasure having you with us to celebrate your birthday and to welcome you to the Jamaica Inn Family! Just one clarification, the property has been in the same family for over 54 years and still remains that way.
We did have a change in General Managers recently where Mary Phillips handed the baton over to Kyle Mais, who is the newest member of our Jamaica Inn Family.
We hope to welcome you back home soon!

Just came here for dinner one night and loved it. Food was delicious and fresh. Service was impeccable. Soft live music in the background. This place is well taken care of, takes pride in its look and it shows. Gorgeous from every angle. Next time I'll stay here.
