Im affraid that if I procrastinate making reservations, that I may not get to stay next time im there. I can't say how good this place is. I felt more than safe, I felt at home. Great cooking and a very clean room. It was my first and only stay in Jamaica, but Im not sure there is any place I rather stay. Good luck getting reservations! EWVorhes

Definately the best place we've ever stayed -- and we've been around. The whole experiece was great. Perfect for a slow and steady pace, attended a wedding in Montego Bay and most of our family and friends were staying here. Was able to spend nice quality and quiet time with them all. Pefect Location, short walk to the beach - did that everyday! Wide variety of food on the hip strip close by. Full Jamaican breakfast - EXQUISTE!! True island stye, something for all tastes.

Stayed on side with Clarissa and Jeremy and they took such good care of our group !! Thanks to Peter & Elaine for all your hard work and for making us feel right at home!!

Already planning the next group .. see you soon!

Thanks for such a memorable stay!

This Place is Incredible!!!!!
In my opinion, after seeing some of the small hotels on the hip-strip,This place is Better in all areas!! Price!,Cleanliness!,Security!

You should know that there is a Private path that guests have access keys to but it has 70 steps (I counted) so it is not recommended for people with disabilities. The rooms are not connected or big enough for families unless the children are responsible enough to have their own room across from the parents! The place is Smoke Free! So keep that in mind! It is located just a short walk from everything on the Hip-Strip! We walked to the Hip-Strip every day and ate at a different restaurant every time! Did some shopping, and spent a couple days at Doctor's Cave Beach which is also in walking distance!!

There are actually Two B-n-B's that operate as one business! They are located on Corniche Rd which is a short road that paralells the Hip-Strip and branches off of it right next to Coral Cliffs accross from Margueritaville. It is only about 12 minutes from the airport and if you give them your flight info, they will have a driver waiting for you with your names on a sign!
The owner of the Pelican restaurant, Mr Peter Scudamore, and his wife Elaine are the hosts of the Vista de la Bahia (seen in most of the pics above) and are wonderful people. We had many opportunities to visit with them and really enjoyed our talks!

The other is the Polkerris which is where we stayed for 7 nights!! Peter's mother, Clarissa and her husband Jeremy are you gracious hosts for this house. We chose the room with the Queen bed and it was perfect for us on our honeymoon! The door opened right out to the pool and across the pool was the room with the four post king size bed (which is their most requested room!) The entire place is beautifully landscaped and has flower pots hanging and placed all around! The veranda (that is what we called it) was where we had our amazing breakfast every morning! It is a balcony with a panoramic view of the ocean and a fabulous view of the sunset each evening. It overlooks the Vista de la Bahia which is right across the street.

You have your choice of traditional American breakfasts or traditional Jamaican breakfasts. We always chose the Jamaican Breakfast and had something different every day until the last two mornings, in which we decided to have the first one again as it was our favorite! Ackee and fish with yams, boiled green bananas, plantain, and two fried dumplings with guava jelly, and a mixed plate of fresh fruit that was served with any breakfast you choose!!

Please remember to take care of the housekeepers, Marcia and Molly, also as they are truly as helpful as can be !!

We arrived as guests, and left as friends!!

Words really do not do this place justice! So please look at the pics I have added!

We have just returned from a 5 day vacation to Montego Bay, Jamaica. We went for a destination wedding. The bride arranged for all the wedding guests to stay at this bed and breakfast. Originally, i was quite reluctant, as me and my husband have not had vacation in over 2 years and i wanted a bit more privacy.
However, once we got there and saw just how beautiful, clean, well maintained, it was...we were very happy with our decision.
We were also happy to be able to spend time with the other wedding guest. See, this was no ordinary bed and breakfast. Each guest has their own private bathroom/shower/toilet. Each room has a seperate entrance (our room just happened to lead you directly to the out door pool...you take about 5 steps and your in the water). each room also has full cable. I know, who stays in their room watching tv? Well, its still nice to be connected with the outside world as every morning we would tune into the Today Show or Good Morning America for about 10 - 15 mins.
You also get a choice everymorning of either a traditional Jamaican breakfast, or an American breakfast (omelettes/waffles/pancakes/eggs). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and catered to our every needs.
The view was also beautiful. We would sit on the veranda everymorning and watch the sun rise in front of the mountains and over the ocean (that was a 5 minute walk away :)
and at night it provided a beautiful scenery to watch the sun set...or just to watch the beautful full moon.
the beach, shopping, plenty of restaurants are all so very close. But if you eat any where, you must eat at the Pelican Inn (this is a restaurant owned by the same family). You must try their curry goat and jerk chicken....It'll have you screaming for more...
there's not enough i can say about this place....oh, they're front yard has a huge mango tree. yeah. just go and pick one and have a great snack:)
if you go to montego bay, this is the ONLY place to stay...

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at Polkerris. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The staff was super efficient and very accomodating. The breakfast was wonderful and I missed it terribly once i came home. I stayed in one of the downstairs rooms and the viewofthe garden was breath taking. Even though it is not far from the hip strip it was very peaceful and serene. I would recommend this to anyone from honeymooners to people just looking for a place to get away from it all. The only bad thing about my stay is that it wasn't long enough. I plan to stay longer the next time i am in Mo Bay!
