Our stay was a mixed feeling adventure. The elevator is so small that my husband and I with 3 pieces of luggage was tight.... so if you don't mind doing stairs, it's good. Our first night we were put in room 204. This room is right above the dining area and where the music plays, so the noise level is very bad, but the view is pretty. A young couple might not be affected by this, but we are early to bed people..... The lady at the front desk definitely has an attitude problem. She was very difficult to work with. The other staff was very nice. After finally going through the manager we were moved to room 408. OK..... not too much better, but the view was beautiful. The rooms need a little updating with newer bedding....
Our friends were put in room 409. The first day their hairdryer went out and their air-conditioner wasn't working. they called everyday and nothing was corrected. The food is average. It got a little boring. The breads are absolutely fantastic, very fresh... For the money the hotel is very nice. If you are looking for top quality, go somewhere else. It's very laid back.

Our first trip to Jamaica and we were not sure what the Royal Decameron experience would be like. We loved it! Good food, great staff, wonderful beach experience, snorkeling right at the resort, and live entertainment every evening. We especially liked the intimate atmosphere of the relatively small 140+ room complex. We did not have to fight for sun chairs and we could easily find a location by ourselves to enjoy a cocktail. We would definitely stay here again.
No problem.

We just returned from RD Montego Bay and Jamaica was great. This resort was just ok, nothing super special. It is located in a great area, literally 5 minutes from the airport and on the hip strip so bars, restaurants, clubs, a casino and shopping within about a 10 minute walk which is safe.
The rooms are clean, but outdated and the beds are not so comfortable and lighting in the room is very dim. Views from the rooms are great as they all seem to have a pool or pool and ocean view and quaint balcony. Food was not great, just blah. We were hoping for real authentic Jamaican food but nothing was very tasty and not much of a variety. Lunch and dinner seemed to be the same pretty much every day at the buffet. Breakfast was ok, fruit wasn't even that good. Coffee was amazing. Beach grill was ok, great burgers and finger food. No luxurious amenities here but clean. This resort is small but plenty of room for everyone. A lounger was always available by the pools or beach area and you never had to wait in lines for food or bathrooms. Nightly entertainment was good. Red Stripe beer was great. For the price, the location and views are well worth it. We took a couple of excursions into downtown Montego Bay and the Bob Marley tour and the views were amazing.
Overall, we would definitely return to Jamaica but likely not to Royal Decameron.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 101 or 102 (we stayed in 102) as these are right off of the lobby and dining area so lots of noise early in the morning and late nights.
