Over all we had a great stay, I was nervous as the reviews before heading down were mixed. Do keep in mind this is NOT the Oasis chain of resorts and the title clearly shows. (I'd place The Oasis at Sunset a low 4star)
We had a beach front "Cabana" why its called a "Cabana" I have no idea since its just a standard room like the others but located yards from the beach with a beautiful view.
Food was great, however we only ate at the Sunset Buffet once and had mixed feelings on that. The other meals we ate at the private restaurant on the Oasis side which was always great however rather slow. A La Cartes were all good and easy to book, just call or stop by the front desk and they will sort it all out for you.
Services was excellent you can tell they are really trying to separate The Oasis and make it something special. There was still minor construction going on but nothing that was annoying. However I wish the new International restaurant was open while we were there as it looked like it was going to be great. I would like to see how it looks next year.
I would recommend doing the para-sailing as the views up there are amazing. The snorkeling is awesome as well since there is a small reef not far from the shore. If you have a family the west side may be best to stay at since it is close to the water park, but if you want a quite and relaxation stick to the East side.
One petty complaint would be nothing really extra done by the house keeper, like towel swans etc, not even a thank-you note for the what I thought was a generous tip each day.
If you are looking for night life on the resort there is none. That goes for both the Oasis and Sunset side. After the nightly entertainment (which was actually very good most nights) there is nothing going on. Most people seem to go off resort to party at places like Margaritaville which is to bad since there is a pub style bar with dance floor on the Sunset side but no one was ever there.
Over all great stay and I have recommended to others.
