“Spoiled Rotten!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2014

This was our second trip in 7 months to Secrets Wild Orchid, and yes, we felt like we never left! We stayed at in the Master Suite (Thanks Marcia ) in the Preferred section, and had a Butler to help us out with anything we needed, complete with the use of a cell phone to call directly! (Thanks Dalton).

Service is "top notch" at Wild Orchid and the resort is simply gorgeous. The food is wonderful and diverse and there's always something going on in or around the Piano Bar in the evenings. We loved having the choice between the more relaxing and serene Preferred pool area or the more active and lively Main Pools of Wild Orchid or St James. Each pool area seems to take on it's own personality and there was a pool to fit our mood all the time. We loved to spend the day active and having a great time meeting people near the swim up bars, or playing water volleyball, then getting ready for a great meal and an elegant night out. It's easy to fall in love with the Secrets Resorts at Montego Bay. We'll definitely be back again!

As a frequent traveler to Tropical resort destinations around the world, i tend to lean towards smaller more intimate resorts when I travel. This trip however was a hard earned work-reward trip, so I had little choice in the location. I doubt I could have picked better. Even though the resort (technically two resorts side by side and sharing many common areas) was quite large, it was laid out in a manner that gave it a small resort feel.
Beautifully landscaped paths led from one pool to the other. The well manicured grounds, spotless pools, and exceptional views are exactly as described and shown in the hotel's website. NO complaints.
*The staff was overall exceptionally friendly, and in some cases genuinely warm and fun. Yes; the bartenders at the swim up bars perhaps were the one exception; but I really cant say I blame them. Swim up bar bartenders probably have one of the tougher jobs at the resort.
*The food at the various restaurants ranged from good to very good. Definitely a step above the typical all inclusive experience.
* The rooms; very nice. A few quibbles such as a leaking shower that left the floors of the bathroom pretty wet, probably just an issue specific to our room, but not a deal breaker.

A few quibbles:
At the pools; please leave the music geared towards Reggae and Dance-hall etc. If we wanted to hear American Country Music, we would have gone to Nashville or Memphis. Realizing that efforts were made to please everyone; this however was a really distracting and aggravating thing to deal with. Again; this is Jamaica. The music is a Huge part of the experience; even at the resorts Pools. Please stop with the country music...

The Gym; Cramped but overall useable. One note; A hedge directly in front of the cardio equipment inexplicably blocked the view of the beach and ocean. Why? Please trim the hedge and allow people at the gym a view of the ocean.

Overall, a fabulous resort, well worth the cost! Order a Bob Marley at the Swim Up Bar and enjoy!

What Can I say HAD A GREAT TIME! From the time we walked into the lobby till the day we sadly had to leave. IF you want a couples vacation this is the place to be.
We were Greeted with drinks. We had an afternoon flight in but as they say,"NO PROBLEM MON."We were able to find a cafe to get a snack before dinner and more drinks. (you could eat 24/7 if you were hungry)

Room was great and ready right away. Beach view, jacuzzi , fresh towels, soft robes, slippers. Even got an apology note on door one day cause I had the privacy light on to take a nap and they apologized for not cleaning the room that day."NO PROBLEM MON"

-So many staff members to try and remember it is hard. Every one from the bell hop to the clean personal were GREAT.

- POOL BAR was great LEO (pool bar tender for real lol would dive in pool with suit on and server right in water), Harry, Alvin, Demon, I fear I have missed some names. LOL " Nobody move, nobody get hurt MON"(sit relax drink up) , "look there is a leak in the glass Mon let me fix it." (glass was never empty) were some of the great sayings you would hear.

- We LOVED the beach bar were you could walk up(no shoes no problem) and help your self with snacks, Berger and beer on tap. There was a coffee bar. YEA MON Blue Mt. coffee. Don't forget tho dinner is nice dress, one restaurant you did need a jacket men.
- Keeping in mind to hydrate there were barrels scattered with ice and water bottles.

- You did not have to leave your resort something to do all day and night from dancing, water volleyball, swimming, drinking, shows, outdoors movie, game room, snorkel(get your self an underwater camera) LOVED the spa and staff, but I would encourage you to go and learn of the Jamaican culture.
We did bamboo rafting on river, and scuba.

MUCH LOVE and RESPECT TO EVERY ONE THERE.

I just wanted to take the time to give feedback regarding our trip! The food was excellent and the service was incredible :) The dining staff were so friendly and efficient. The kindest and my favorite server was Renardo Quarrie. We sat with him every day and were sad to leave! If you go to the buffet make sure to ask for him :)

Service here for the most part is good. One problem though. There was no robe in my room, I asked for a robe at front desk and no robe came. I called housekeeping and still no robe. I tried again a third time and still couldn't get a robe. Hotel doesn't seem that concerned about trying to make amends!!

Wow, just wow! What an excellent place for a vacation! Everything was absolutely fantastic! From the room, to the food, to the helpful and friendly staff, to the excursions*. We spent the most time down by the pool bar and were kept company by Sparks (entertainment team member) and Alvin (bartender),(honorable mentions to Sherece and Harry) All went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great time and really made us all feel special!
Have breakfast at The World Cafe (the French toast, crepes and omelets are to die for) For lunch, you will want the Jerk chicken down by the beach. The chicken guy gets there about 11:00 and there will be a long line. It is worth the wait. All of the restaurants are very good, We actually ate at the Italian restaurant two nights in a row. And for late night munchies*, the room service jerk chicken Hawaiian pizza is just what the doctor ordered.
We are already trying to plan another trip. I can't wait!

* We went out to the Bob Marley mausoleum on the third day. It is a very long ride (approx. 1 1/2 hours one way) through the mountains on very narrow roads. The ride is very interesting in itself. If you are a fan of Bob Marley, or Reggae music, or Rastafarian culture, this tour is a must! If you go, here are some things you will want to know. 1) "Concessions" or party favors", if you will, are available just outside the main gate at the mausoleum. 2) Remember, you are going to have to go home and you can't take it with you, so buy accordingly (I had to give away several items) 3) Buy two Gatorades at the first bar. 4) You are encouraged to partake if you so desire.. 5) When you are 2000+ feet above sea level, the air is thinner and a little goes a looong way. 6) Treat the "party favors" with respect. They are not to be trifled with. They are as good as you hope they are. 7) When you are at the stage where the band is playing some Bob Marley music, you are about to have a 100 yard walk straight uphill to Mount Zion. You laugh now...you will see .Have fun!

Second time at this resort. I love it even more. I can't wait to go back. I have dreams about the guy coming up the path with the jerk chicken cart. It smells so good. Everyone is so nice. Food is amazing. The beach was perfect. I loved everything about it.
