“Rafting down the Martha Brae on Valentines Day”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

Sam our "guide" was great, nice way to relax for about an hour to hour and half. Recommend it! Only chose 2 excursions while we were there and was glad we chose this as one of our options.

booked this through thomsons
our mini coach driver didnt seem very organised, firstly we waited 30 min for him to turn up at the hotel only for him to find us and accuse us of turning up late! we were actually at pick up point 15 mins early so not a good start.
on arrival at Martha Brae we were led to a bar for a welcome drink, there are also a few gift shop/stalls.
our driver went missing again we had to look for him to be taken to the rafts.
we boarded the rafts and our captain explained the ride is 3 mile long, he pointed out trees.plants a few different areas we passed, he was happy to answer any questions we had.
we had one of the fastest rafts on Martha Brae we did quite a bit of overtaking! i think our captain was in a hurry! some of the captains were more talkative than ours, we got to listen to them whilst overtaking or barging into other rafts to get past them.
he explained how many rafts sail the river and how they work on a rota system. some days they get no work, other days if there is a cruise ship visit they might do two trips in a day. we were his only work that day
all in all we found it relaxing and a pleasant enough half day trip from Ocho Rios, our first time rafting it was something different for us

“ Willy the Fastest Rafter in Jamaica!”
Reviewed February 24, 2014 via mobile

I had visions of floating along at a steady pace down the River, sun shining & plenty of time to soak up the peace & tranquility..... Not the case for us unfortunately as our rafter was clearly keen to get back to base & secure another raft that day. He explained as there are so many of them, they each only get 1 or 2 trips per day. Nevertheless well worth a visit & the experience is amazing.

Thank Jeenge
