The Wexford is a good place to stay if you are traveling in country and don't want to burn out after a long journey to get to Jamaica with another several hour car trip to your final destination. The view is excellent and and you are close to excellent restaurants not the least of which is the one in the hotel! It seems like Jamaican hotels are determined to give you breakfast. Typically it will be a small continental one which leaves you wanting to order more which of course you can do and it will be good. The Wexford gives you a breakfast worthy of a king.....with a large variety of typical Jamaican dishes you won' t find in most tourist hotels or restaurans. It's almost worth staying here just for the amazing breakfast!!......The van service to the airport was fast and efficient.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is good(no rooms on the first floor) because the elevator is tiny & prone to disfuncti...

I stayed at The Wexford December 2013 for 7 nights, I will never stat there again.
Cons:
1. The shuttle never showed up, I was at the airport for over an hour waiting and they had to nerve to tell me they were there waiting but never say me.
2. My flat iron got stuck in the outlet and it took them 2 days to come up and remove it. To make matters worse, the guy they sent up made a sexual joke saying holes are supposed to be tight. I am can take a joke but that was inappropriate since this is a hotel and he and I are not friends.
3. The elevator does not work so prepared to hoof it up the stairs
4. The icing on the cake one morning after my room was cleaned I went in and while I was in the bathroom someone entered my room without knocking.
Pros:
1. Great location, its close to Margaretville, there are also several restaurants in the area and it’s close to Doctor’s Cave and Aqusaol Beach

my name is Margaret my family and I stayed at the wexford hotel on December 2013
I must say the staff was friendly and accommodating they did everything to make your stay worth while. The breakfast omg we had the breakfast buffet was amazing they even offer things not being served for the kids they made it happen we even sent the kids down for lunch with money and the came back with the exact change. Security on site at all time being at the pool was like being on the beach
the pool is on top of the roof surrounding by sand with lounge jus like you would have at the beach I look forward to my next trip I would like to send a shout out to Sophia the manager u really earn the name of being a manager you and your staff did a fantastic job base and your honesty and hard work I look forward to saying her in the near future.

Checked in on our last night before returning home. Room was clean with plenty of hot water and ac We rented ocean view which is a little more but came with a gorgeous sunset. Room is sparse- no table lamps or decor but still did the trick. Room also comes with access to pool and private beach water park access. Breakfast was free and weird- primarily Jamaican. One word of caution, the room is loud. Hotel was quiet but the cars, music, screaming from the street left us tired.

Stayed one night out of necessity after a messed up reservation at another property. This hotel is on the "hip strip" in downtown Montego Bay. There is not much that is charming about this location other than the view of the Bay itself. On either side of the hotel are nightclubs that cause the rooms to literally vibrate at night.

Our room was less than clean, the toilet didn't flush properly and well.. was pretty old and worn out looking. The staff were okay, polite if almost friendly. We ate breakfast which was included but was barely edible.

If you need to be in the city and want to enjoy the nightlife this might be the place for you, but think twice.

Room Tip: If you need to stay here go for the back of the hotel but I am not sure there will be a sound differ...

If you are looking to get away from the all inclusive environment and see Montego Bay and the surrounding areas, The Wexford Hotel should be considered. Great service by the staff led by Manager Sofie. We were greeted warmly by the front desk clerk Tracy Ann and over the course of the week, they did everything they could to make our visit a great one. With a clean and simple room with a fantastic view of the Caribbean Sea, it made the visit an easy one. The traditional Caribbean breakfast served each morning was the best way to get the day started. Our server Janet greeted us each morning with a smile and friendly service. The location of the hotel is right on the 'Hip Strip' which means central and walking distance to everything grocery stores, restaurants, clubs and the beach. It should be noted that the hotel is located beside a dance club so there were days that the room was a little loud, but with the heat of the country, the doors were closed to keep in the air condition, so the noise was muted. The hotel has been around on the main strip for many years, so while some may say that it is dated, it should be noted that the hotel is clean and the staff takes great pride in its upkeep. Booking is not traditional, i.e. booking directly online is not possible, but sending an email to the address on the site will be promptly responded to with rates. When I looked to book rooms for the vacation, rates were presented within 24 hours. This hotel is more in line with a boutique hotel rather than a big impersonal all inclusive, so guests that are looking for a more personal, friendly type of hotel experience should consider the Wexford. It should be noted that the hotel did undergo a renovation a couple years ago and has created a second wing with larger newer rooms. This is not a five star hotel, but it does have 5 star service.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a room with a view opt for an Ocean View room, but it should be noted that th...

Imagine trying to book a room at a hotel that refuses to list their prices on their website. Hmmmm....be cautious. I also emailed Wexford Hotel (email on their website) for the rates and they refuse to email the rates back to me. so, I wonder if they change their rates daily. If you're Jamaican, you pay one rate and if your a foreigner, you pay another.
