Enjoyed our week here. This was our second Sandals holiday. We went to Antigua last year and it's difficult not to compare. This was a smaller more personal resort which was good but had less restaurants so less choice.
We tried to book the Thai restaurant on the island but waited 24 hours after we arrived and it was fully booked for the rest of our stay so book early! We are both vegetarian and loved the buffets and the vegi burgers at the beach restaurant! Entertainment was full on with activities most of the day. The effort from the entertainment team was 100%. There are lots of quiet spots and participation is not compulsory! Our room was on a small pool which had steps down to the beach which was heaven! Restaurant and bar staff were wonderful and really made our holiday! Reggae cruise was good but it would be easy to become leg less so beware!
Only negative really was when we requested a late check out and did offer to pay! We had 5/6 conversations with reception and bell staff over 24 hours. This was a bit stressful . At our 10.30 checkout time we were offered a hospitality room slot at 3.30 to shower before pickup. This was very acceptable but why did we have to nagg them? Reception and bell were perhaps not 100% customer friendly!
Overall it was an excellent week!

My husband and I stayed at RC for two weeks in Sept. Everything about it was fantastic, The food was amazing, the staff from housekeeping to watersports to restaurant were brilliant they could not do enough for us. We spent most of our day time on the private island it was glorious. We tried all the restaurants we really enjoyed the French and the restaurant on the island. We also went to the sister hotel and ate there it was really good having such choice. The evening entertainment was so good especially the steel band. We came here to chill and relax and we really did. We previously stayed at sandals halcyon beach St. Lucia and really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere RC is very much in this vibe. It is my 50th birthday in March and we are thinking of a return visit, can wait !,!!!!

This place is beautiful, staff are incredible, food is fantastic!, the rum ..... well the rum .... :)
I genuinly dont think you can ask for a better hotel. There is plenty to do on the water sports if you fancy it yet if its more your style to just chill by the pool or beach thats grand to.
Our room was very nice , we booked the basic room and it was fine plenty big enough and very comfortable . However if we where to come again which we may well do we will be paying that bit more and getting somethig along the lines of a sea view and balconey.... the boyfriend could have done with it whilst i was getting ready :)
We ate at all the resturants and all where brilliant, our favourite was le jardiner (the french) the food at this resturant is unreal the steak melts in your mouth and the service is oustanding especially Andrei and Tejay our favourite servers!!!
Entertaiment is great, Chico is fantastic and what i loved was that he joined us for a drink after work and we could just hang out, a few of the staff did this when they finished work which ment you got to no them as people not just staff and they got to know us as more than guests.
Bar staff again are fab i must have had every cocktail under the sun none of which i remember the names of except the blue one :) Blue lagoon!! Andrea who works mainly in the piano bar is a sweetie and at a glance always had my cocktail topped up.
We are beach people and where not disapointed it is clean and tidy, the sea is stunning and the island is beautiful. I know some people reading this will be wondering about the planes, for us it wasnt a issue yes you can hear them but for about ten seconds and there must be maybe 8 - 10 a day??
Trip wise we went swimming with dolphins at dolphin cove ... WOW what an experience both of us couldnt get over it these animals are incredible and whats more theyre not in a tank!! we wouldnt have done it is they where as we disagree with it,they had a good size pool in a cove in the sea with fish and coral in their pool and we where both sure that if they really wanted to get out they probably could of as the rocks seperating the sea and their pools where not very high, they looked very well looked after and seemed happy it was an experience we will never forget. We also climbed dunns river which was very cool alomst surreal its so georgeous! My boyfriend also went deep sea fishing , unfortunalty they didnt catch a great deal but thats fishing on talking to other people the week before they caught loads so its pot luck

We looked at mo bay and carlyle amd where so so pleased we chose royal!!

fantastic holiday and one we will never forget thank you all sooooo much

Room Tip: Pay the bit extra and dont go for the very bottom grade room, although they are nice its worth the e...

My husband and I stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon November 5th-November 11th, 2012 and it was absolutely perfect! After a chaotic several months leading up to the wedding (we won a dream wedding contest!), we were looking for a place where we could just relax and enjoy each other--SRC was perfect. From the moment we stepped out of the airport shuttle, my husband and I felt completely pampered all week. The resort was absolutely gorgeous and very clean! Since the resort is not as large as Sandals Montego Bay, there is more of an intimate feel, which we loved. Although the resort was filled to max capacity, it never felt crowded. In fact, on the offshore island (where we spent most of our time), we never had any difficulty getting a float in the pool, a lounger on the beach, or a table at the grill. The offshore island was definitely our favorite part of the resort; it was beautiful and peaceful. Also, the food and drinks were outstanding, from the french restaurant to the late night grill! I seriously think we both gained 10 pounds while we were there from eating and drinking all day every day ;) What a treat! The only thing that was a little annoying was getting reservations for restaurants. We went to the concierge to book reservations immediately upon arrival and there were no reservations available until the last night of our stay. For the money you pay to stay there, it seems ridiculous that you cannot get reservations. However, I will say that the staff was excellent about keeping us on a waiting list and trying to get us into the restaurants we wanted. In the end, we got reservations at both Royal Thai and Le Jardiniere... and we even slipped into a reservation at Tokyo Joe's in SMB!

What really sets SRC apart is the exceptional staff--they are seriously some of the sweetest people in the world. Overall, everyone was wonderful... but we had a few favorites! Stefan and Velentie (watersports) were incredibly kind and attentive; they took us on a great snorkeling trip and helped us with kayaking/boating! Ricardo at the Regency brightened each morning with his warm smile and pleasant conversations. At Mariners, Lavallo was always so kind and his quesadillas were amazing! Finally, the entertainment guys (Chico, Theo, and Hollywood) were wonderful! They made every night at SRC so fun and we loved spending time getting to know them!

Overall, it was an incredible experience and we cannot wait to return in the near future!!

We just got back from our 4th vacation at Royal Caribbean. We love the atmosphere, the food, and the staff but there were disappointments. We were not offered an upgrade; if a room were not available, then put a bottle of wine in our room, a few crackers, or something to make us realize we were really welcomed home. Since you cannot make restaurant reservations before your arrival, we were very disappointed to get one at 6 pm, and then were supposed to take the shuttle at 5 to get to Tokyo Joe's for 6 (it's 5 minutes away). Lots of money fora top shelf resort but lacking in some service. Kudos to a wonderful young employee, Odane, who was as welcoming, courteous, and helpful as you could ever want. We think our next trip will be elsewhere.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Windsor Building are nice but if you want something a little quieter after 10, go elsew...

We have many friends that have chose this route and we don't regret one bit getting married abroad. Value is incredible and the hardest part is just packing. We chose Jamaica for their 2 day residency requirement and overall they were the cheaper of the resorts. This resort is close to the enough to the airport that once you get to Montego Bay you are only a short 15 minute bus ride from the resort. Many of our friends complained about the lengthy bus ride to Ochos Rios and Negril. As far as the wedding, the hardest part was picking a time that would cooperate with the weather. For every question or concern you might have, the staff has all the answers. For someone who has never been to another country, we would recommend Jamaica. Customs and Immigration is a piece of cake. We had 14 people attend our wedding so the only complaint we have is being able to accommodate a large group when eating dinner. Concierge service is a MUST upgrade!!! Room Service is an AWESOME benefit. It was amazing that the staff try to learn your names. By day two they knew us and were like friends vs just another hotel worker. The event coordinators are GREAT! Key to having a lot of fun is getting involved. Norda & Chico brought so much enjoyment to the whole experience and we are grateful for them. Being able to go to any of the Sandals resorts on the island is a nice offer. However, we had family and friends that visited the Sandals at Montego Bay and they recommended staying at the Royal Caribbean because the overall resort wasn't as nice and the staff weren't as friendly. While we were there, hurricane Sandy hit the island. It was amazing to see how the management handled the preparation and clean up. It was also amazing to see how focused they were on insuring that we were okay and taken care of. Lastly, the Private island is a huge get away! Though its just a minutes boat ride from the main resort, it feels like being on a total different resort. Restaurants are GREAT especially the Thai Restaurant. It is true that the only beer we saw was Red Stripe and Red Stripe light. As far as liquor, if you want top shelf all you have to do is ask. Crown and Coke, no problem! Everything is NO PROBLEM. You hear that a million times while you are there on the island.

Room Tip: We had beach front and it was well worth it. Be careful when you choose this category because beach...

I'm a New Yorker so I will admit that sometimes it can be hard to dazzle me. But I was overall very pleased with my stay at this resort. Here's my list:

PROS:
Fabulous food
(everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. French restaurant was my favorite)
Great staff
(very pleasant and helpful. Some of the women weren't as nice but overall great service. Dwight -- the operations manager was fantastic)
Good drinks
(some all inclusives water down drinks and use lower shelf liquor but these drinks were solid)
Sandals private lounge at the airport
(which they allowed you access on the way home too)
Easy transfer between hotel and airport
Well kept beach

CONS:
Trouble getting restaurant reservations at first
(we had to keep asking for cancelations. For the amount of money we paid -- this should be a no brainer but it was a bit difficult)
Bees
(everywhere near the bar -- ick!)
Extra costs
(WiFi is 15 bucks!! Should be included. Same for cabanas and painting classes, etc. It's not truly all inclusive)
Rooms were a little older (definitely nice though -- just being picky. We had a standard room and it was clean and comfortable.)
