“Wonderful Group Weekend!”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

We had a wonderful exteneded weekend experience at Half Moon in a beautiful villa for 12 just when it was needed must, in the middle of a snow storm! Arriving to sun, sand and a rum cocktail, courtesy of our tireless butler, Charles, we knew this was going to be a special vacation. The fun continued on the beach and pool side with so many activites to choose from. We went horseback riding in the ocean and the most beautiful snorking experience I've ever had. We ate fabulous local cuisine prepared by Carmen who was so willing to share her recipes. And our villa was kept spotless by Jennifer. It's truly a vacation when you don't have to do anything but whatever you feel like doing at that moment. No worries, mon! That's how it felt at the Half Moon at Montego Bay Resort. Just can't wait to go back again!

Celebrating a 50th birthday with friends and family, Half Moon was perfect! Twelve of us stayed in a 6 bedroom villa and it quickly felt like home. Just the right blend of activities and lounging were available to please everybody; resort equipment and guided adventures, 400 acres to explore on bikes or golf carts...plus choices for relaxing and catching up at the beaches, beautiful pools and at our own villa too. We found ourselves in small groups, pairs and together as a whole at different times throughout the day, a perfect vacation.
The villa (#54) was private, oceanfront and recently renovated. We often started our day with coffee and swim in the private pool. Meals were served on a porch overlooking the ocean. The rooms, en suite and living spaces were nicely equipped, well decorated and spacious. Our opportunity to blend resort amenities, while enjoying the comfort of a(beautiful) private 'home" equipped with the individualized care of an exceptional staff made for an amazing experience.

The house was managed by the "A Team": Carmen, Jennifer and Charles.
Carmen introduced us to Jamaican specialties at every meal. She filled the table with choices for everyone and plenty of each. Often after a meal, we would make our way to the kitchen to listen to her explaining ingredients and cooking techniques to the foodies among us. Jennifer greeted us each morning with a smile, worked hard all day keeping the house with such care, and was eager to hear of our adventures in the evening. She often added personal touches-one day writing a sweet message in flowers on the bed. Charles was ready for anything, at anytime. No question or request was too much- his warm response was always; "of course". Knowledgeable about the island and the resort, he made all the arrangements for activities. He also gave us additional information and drivers/ taxis when we ventured off site to see Rose Hall Plantation, the bird sanctuary and even a group trip to Pier 1 for some dancing.
The villas at Half Moon provide and incredible setting for a group of friends or family, resort options and privacy- the best of both worlds!

We've just returned from our 15th trip to Half Moon. We spent 10 years in the same 6 rooms in the West Beach and then moved to a Royal Villa where we've been the last 5 years. We are a family with 16 people ranging from age 5 to age 82. The Villa is staffed with a butler, a cook and a maid who do a spectacular job taking care of us. We can't sing their praises loudly enough.

We spend our time doing all sorts of activities - walking on the beach, swimming in our private pool, snorkeling, relaxing in our Eno hammocks suspended between coconut trees, reading, playing beach volleyball, croquet or putt-putt...there's something for everyone to do, even if that's doing nothing but enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

We have already reserved our Villa (and the same staff) for 2015.

Room Tip: In 15 years, we've left the resort only 2 times. Both times were disappointing. Stay within th...

We returned to Half Moon Bay and were concerned that it wouldn't be as great as last year.....It was better. The mantra here is smile and service. The facilities are there for whatever you like on vacation. Lots of things to do or a quiet spot to use your IPAD or read your book. We booked the golf all inclusive and never had a problem with tee times..the caddies are professional and helpful. The fairways are wide and forgiving. There are pools and a beach area plus a dolphin cove. We had wonderful muscle massages that really helped my arms. Many restaurants on the property with different specialties. We especially like the music at night and love to dance.

Room Tip: If you have young children the beach area is a good bet. If you are a pool person their are rooms in...

We just returned from our 2nd trip to Half Moon. Half Moon is the perfect place to vacation in paradice. In particular we love the golf, the 50 metre lap pool, the ocean swimming, the food, the accomodations and the people. The property is huge but feels small. There are no high rise buildings. Cottages and suites (all unique) dot the 3 mile shoreline. I don't think there is a bad room on the property. We've stayed in one of the western cottages last year and one of the hybiscus suites this year. Both are awesome. There is lots to do and many restaurants (all good). The staff are extremely helpful. Thank you Alicia for making our stay perfect once again! Our caddy, Sylvan, was very helpful and improved our golf! We'll be back!

My husband and I have been going to Half Moon TEN times and I think it's about time we should share with the rest of the world and sing it's praise. It's just about the perfect place for vacationing, you can do nothing and lie on the private beach and go to the Spa or you can play golf, tennis, bike, swim or horseback riding all on the sprawling well-kept premise. The staffs are friendly and professional, the service is prompt and the variety choice of restaurant are well-thought and high quality. What there is not to like?! I read some reviews about the charge of tax, that's the government law and just like any other places.

Room Tip: We usually stay at the West Cottage, it has the classics feel and look and it's right by the bea...
