We just returned from a 5 day trip to Half Moon and had an amazing time. Pro's: The overall friendliness of the staff is superb. Everyone we met at every step truly made us feel like they really appreciated our business and seemed genuinely friendly. The food was fantastic. We got the all inclusive plan and glad we did. After 5 days of eating all meals on property we continued to experience a variety of flavors and dishes. I never felt like I was being offered "repurposed" food from the previous meal. The drinks were almost always excellent (Have Donine at the pool bar make you a Half Moon Special if you're there). The beaches, rooms, overall maintenance and condition of property was excellent. This property is older but also has a lot of cool history to it. The room we were in was older but nicely updated in bathroom and nicely furnished. My wife and I actually preferred the history and charm of this place and its long expanse of private beach and grounds as opposed to newer properties that tend to be deeper and w/ less beach frontage. The end result is that at no point on this 4+ mile long resort are you ever more than a 3-5 minute walk from the water. If there was a negative it was that the snorkeling "charter" of $40 wasn't really worth it as these waters are for the most part devoid of much marine life to observe on inshore dives, but from what I understand that's the case throughout most of Jamaica. The only other thing lacking was that it was a fairly quiet night life on the resort and we would have enjoyed at least one night of dancing and such, but we chose not to leave the resort so the evenings were more laid back. But as w/ snorkeling, we kind of knew that going into it so I can't really say we were disappointed. All in all, this is an absolutely fantastic place and value in our opinion. We would definitely recommend it.
