The Courtleigh Hotel and Suites
Ranked #2 of 25 Hotels in Kingston
Certificate of Excellence

I have stayed here many times, so I am very familiar with this property. I have also stayed at the Wyndham next door, and the Courtleigh is superior, but not by a lot. The rooms are comfortable and clean, there was plenty of water pressure, and plenty of hot water for a long, hot shower. There is a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room, but no minibar. The selections from the menu at Alexander's can be hit or miss - I can recommend the pizza and the shrimp scampi, but the fish and chips were terrible. The batter was soggy, and the fries were mediocre. I asked for blue cheese dressing instead of tartar sauce, and what I got had the consistency of skim milk with 2 or 3 tiny bits of cheese at the bottom. Breakfast buffet was included in my room rate, and while they had sausage, ham, cheese, breads, and assorted fruits, they are missing eggs. There are two bars here, Mingles, and the pool bar. No one seems to patronize Mingles, so the pool bar is the place to be. Andy is my favorite bartender there, and his service is always outstanding. It's a very comfortable setting to wind down after a long day at work. Overall, a very good hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room with a kitchenette for longer stays.

Stayed here for a week again, on a business trip, and got I'm sure exactly the same room as before. Low floor, overlooking a car park, so a lot of noise, with car alarms going off all night.

Room was fine, comfy, good Ac if needed.

Breakfast buffet was included, with not a bad choice, but repetative after a few days.

Bar food was on the whole good, but a colleague had a salad, that halfway through her meal tried to walk off her plate, it was ALIVE with bugs. They took it away and brought her another one. Not good at all.

I asked for a late (4pm ) checkout but 1pm was as good as it got.

The hotel was full due to the fire closing the Wyndham next door, increasing the demand for rooms anywhere else.

Right from the moment we drove into the Courtleigh, it was obvious it was on another level!!
Right from the time of check in until departure, the service was first class. We ate in the main restaurant a number of nights and we cannot fault one item on the menu.
The rooms were spotless and very modern, the staff could not be more helpfull especially Oliver.
The pool side bar was lovely for a quiet drink also. One small fault would be the internet connection. Everytime i used a portable device such as tablet or iphone to get online, the signal would drop and the username and password would have to be re-entered. Might be something to just consider in the long run.
Thank you all very much for a wonderful stay and we will definately back to stay there when we return in the coming weeks

Pretty much what you'd expect from a good business hotel with a bit extra. The rooms were large and comfortable, though I enjoyed being on one of the top floors as I had a sweeping view out over the city -- lower rooms can be a bit closed, and avoid those over the patio and bar. The staff was helpful, for the most part, but if you want to at least get a sense of Kingston, don't hang around for the food or drinks -- you will only see other business and aid folks. Fortunately, some great jerk bars (e.g. Scotchies) are in walking distance, and don't hesitate to check out some of the smaller places tucked away uptown. Also, head downtown to the market and see what's really going on. A really big plus for me was the complimentary breakfast. Way better than most featuring local fruit and great egg dishes and breakfast meat.

Room Tip: Avoid lower rooms over the patio and pool area.

Kingston is a bustling capital with traffic jams, noise and heat. Coming home to this great hotel after a long day working is just what the doctor ordered. It has ALL the great things you need in a business hotel and none of the fluff and puff of the touristy all inclusives typical of the Caribbean.

The rooms are huge! Modernly decorated with all the things you need. The bathrooms were recently renovated and are very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is great, fast and hot, so you can go on your way as quickly as possible.

The poolside bar is the perfect place to wind down with a cool one in your hand and WiFi to check those emails before calling it a night!

Most rooms have balconies that afford a great view of the city, make it a must!

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies on a high floor give you a great view and none of the noise from the street. G...

Recently stayed at the Courtleigh for business and had a very enjoyable stay. Staff was professional, freindly and helpful. Emancipation Park is directly outside.....there ia also a grocery store within walking distance and a tastee patty shop around the corner. Would definitely return again .

Well, from Haiti to Jamaica is a breath of fresh air .. Staying here at the Courtleigh is very nice, the hotel is clean, quiet, and pretty friendly staff. All of the staff for the most part were very nice and friendly. Patrick was the best, called me by name and always had a big smile and hand shake for me. Oliver was very nice as well, with people like this working here you cant go wrong. If I owned a hotel, I would steal these two guys in a heartbeat. This is one of those hotels that time has forgotten. They could spend a little to upgrade but I do not think they could do it without closing their doors? The Wyndham hotel next door burnt down a few weeks ago so I'm sure their business is booming. This is one of those reviews that you really cant say anything bad but nothing really pops either. So if your in Kingston and need a quiet and clean hotel to stay in Courtleigh is the place. Price is good and so is location.. enjoy if you stay here. I did.
