The grounds of Devon House are free to enter with a fee payable to tour the House (Open Mon - Fri ONLY).
The Courtyard offers a variety of tourist shops, food outlets and restaurants. Fantastic ice cream and Patties attracts both tourists and local residents. As with many tourists spots there is a premium price for most of the food, gifts and items available from the shops.
The fields are utilised by families and groups and the atmosphere is friendly.
HOWEVER during our recent visit we were stopped from taking pictures with an SLR camera, apparently the use of compact or camera phones is allowed but not 'professional' equipment. I am sorry but a tourist attraction that does not allow photography by visitors in the grounds is ridiculous.
Worth a visit BUT leave your camera at home!
