I travel to haiti last march 2012 and again I stayed a the auberge du quebec because, even if its not a luxery hotel, its the best and its a very secure hotel with security guard 24/24, hot water, electricity 24/24, swimming pool and the food is super. the room are very confortable and cleaned every day. the personnel are very friendly and they speak Créole, French and English fluently. I been a regular client of the hotel for over 22 years. Their was a lot of changes at the hotel since the heartqueake and my rate went up considerably but everything went up and every hotel rate's too but even at that I would'nt be able to stay anywhere else.

I' m going back in september and again i will be staying at the Auberge because that hotel is like home away from home for me.

I have stayed with groups at Auberge du Quebec multiple times. The staff are always helpful and the rooms spotless. The pool is very nice, the only downside being that it closes at dark. The location is secure and there are security guards present. This hotel is located in Carrefour and is not near downtown Port au Prince. But the location is very good if you are working in the Carrefour area and is close to grocery stores. Be sure to order your meals ahead of time as they take 1+ hours to cook. We always order breakfast the night before and its very prompt. Overall, great and very helpful staff.

Staying at the Auberge sure doesn't feel like you're in Haiti. Honestly, I felt a little guilty about that, but it is a good option if you can't do a home-stay for some reason.

Located at the top of Carrefour, it's right off a main road and close to banks and supermarkets. It's a central location that's not far from the beach, the airport or wherever else you need to be. The rooms are simple, clean and safe. Ours had A/C, a double bed and a twin along with a room safe and fridge. The showers have hot water, too, as long as you run them long enough.

The food at the restaurant is pricey (for Haiti), but every dish except for lobster and shrimp are under $9 U.S. The food is tasty (though the BDM restaurant above the gas station in Carrefour is both cheaper and better) and they have a wide selection.

Believe everything you read about how slow the kitchen is. We waited a minimum of 60 minutes for our food for every meal. You're best off getting up to order, then showering and getting ready while they prepare breakfast. For dinner, just enjoy a beer or soda (or two) while waiting for the food to be ready.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The beds are very hard, so if you're not a firm mattress type of a person, you may want to bring an air mattress to put on top of the beds. Wasn't a problem for us, though.

Oh, there's also wifi, which they don't mention on the website.

I was in Haiti to work with a missionary group and our stay there it was passable, would arrive tired and order a meal we had to wait 2-3 hours and when we were bringing her want to sleep, some employees
Were very friendly but some seemed to bother when you asked for somenthing, really need to learn more about costumer service.

There is a bar inside the hotel and the bartender got angry every time we entered and asked for, not many speak english and most of the time did not understand one and what they believed were bringing.

I enjoyed my stay, it was great.
I only think some of the staff, specially those young girls at the reception desk should have more customers service skills.

I've been going to the auberge since 1980. Its not a luxury hotel but very nice and confortable. The rooms are cleaned every day and the staff is very friendly. As for the food its super even if you have to wait a while after ordering. Theres electricity and hot water 24 hours. The safety is very adequate with securyty guard 24 hrs, I was there in april and i am going back in september for a two weeks stay.
