we were on the celebrity shilouette and one stop was at this area, we were four couples from the desireswingers couples group
we all took a stroll beach, they now have a pier so getting to the beach is a breeze
enjoyed some shopping with the vendors and used some water mats for floting around it was a warm day not much of a breeze but all in all its a wonderful shore excursion
we did seek a more private beach area where we all could sun bathe au natural..

This past week I was on the Oasis of the Seas and we stopped at Labadee. A friend had reserved one of the Cabanas on Nellie's Beach. I was expecting the usual pop up canvas cover and was so pleasantly surprised to find the Cabana was an actual wooden structure. There were four of us and plenty of comfortable seating. There were pillows and we leaned back and felt like royalty. There was a person assigned to our Cabana. His nick name was "Old Pop". He provided floats for us and would get us drinks and when the Cruise ship brought the lunch on shore he escorted us to the buffet line and a separate eating area for the Cabana patrons. By the way lunch was terrific. When we were ready to leave he called the tram for us. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing day. The water was so warm and we floated for a couple of hours. There were other activities but we were content to just float, eat and relax. The rental was pricey in the area of $200.00 but well worth it. If renting a cabana isn't an option, there were chairs and floats and other type of pop up shades to rent at reasonable prices.

This was paradise...secluded little beach, no frills, just a sand chair and float mat. If you'd like a drink you can buy from the four gentlemen who are at the beach. The beach area grows in it's clearing and beauty each time I've gone back. malfini beach has always been considered our small slice of paradise. It has risen in price and at ? $65, may be a bit pricey. But the natural quiet beauty is hard to beat! Get into the water and float around with a drink as soon as your boat ride takes you there...it will end too soon! No vendors, just the other guests who booked the same excursion.

We docked in Labadee on our recent Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas cruise. My wife and I didn't know what to expect about this port but were really suprised once on shore. The port is beautiful with lots of activities to do. We choose to go to the vendor area and shop and then to the beach. We had the most perfect place to sit under a beautiful palm. The water was perfect and the food on shore was great too. What a beautiful way to spend a day! The tram they run from the dock to the other end of the property is a great way to travel on shore. Loved the dragons breath rock formation, well worth the walk. We hope that Labadee will be one of our stops on a future cruises.

Labadee is a great stop on many of Royal Caribbean's ship. It is truley a beachlovers paradise.
Much to do but my favorite is the "Sandbar Island Excursion". There are two excursions daily. I always choose the "adult only" cruise which leaves at 12:45. After boarding a 2 level motored catamaran, you will be taken to paradise. They do provide you with a complimentary rum punch and you can purchase other spirits or the local beer. The uninhabited island that they take you to will leave you breathless. Mateo and the crew are awesome. They supply floating mats(free) to enjoy the pristine waters here. Also, they have great music and the excursion usually turns into a fun party. On the return trip, be prepared to dance and mingle with the other guests. This excursion is fun for all adults and is not to be missed. In the 5 times I have participated in this excursion, I have seen many young adults dancing and mingling with 70 yr olds. Yes, that's right... even the 70 and up crowd can sow their oats on this excursion.
